The air was tense and charged with energy.
Kenneth felt a restlessness take hold, one he desperately wanted to shake off. He dreaded the thought of having to sit back down for the next hour.
As if sensing his energy, Xander asked him to stay back.
Kenneth looked up, his gaze meeting Xander's as he formed a friendly smile. "Since the team will be back soon, Lucien will need some anchoring. You should wait here until he gets back," he said softly.
The man nodded.
Xander threw him one last look before leaving the boardroom. It wasn't until he heard the door close that Kenneth realized he was now alone, or somewhat alone. Micah De La Mera was still there, and his eyes seemed to be permanently glued on him.
