Chapter 109: Young Man, Do You Desire Eternal Life?
"Help!"
"Tsunade! Orochimaru!"
Jiraiya plummeted rapidly from the sky. Just a moment before his face hit the ground, Masahiko raised his hand, and Jiraiya hovered less than ten centimeters above the ground.
After a good while, Jiraiya's tightly shut eyes slowly opened. Seeing his situation, he breathed a sigh of relief and pushed himself up with his hands.
Looking around, everyone was snickering. Jiraiya felt a surge of embarrassment turn into anger.
Turning to Masahiko, he gritted his teeth and said, "Old man, what sorcery did you use? How dare you make fun of the great Lord Jiraiya! I'll fight you to the death!"
With that, he charged at Masahiko again.
Masahiko smiled and raised his hand again. Jiraiya found that as he ran, he was running into the sky.
He froze for a moment, then whoosh, he fell down again.
"Ah! Not again!" With a scream, he hovered just above the ground again. Just as he wanted to say something, he found himself rising again.
"Hmph! How could the great Lord Jiraiya be afraid of heights!"
Masahiko smiled and turned to Tsunade. "Sigh, I'm afraid you're going to lose a teammate..."
"It doesn't matter, an idiot like that."
In the air, Jiraiya's face turned green. He secretly formed hand seals behind his back.
Masahiko narrowed his eyes slightly and directly relinquished control of the force field.
This time, Jiraiya really fell to the ground with a loud thud.
Beside him, Orochimaru's pupils constricted. He clenched his fists, but after a moment of shock, he relaxed them.
Masahiko chuckled inwardly. "Their bond is pretty good..."
"Great-Great-Grandpa, you didn't really kill that idiot, did you?" beside him, Tsunade asked blankly.
Masahiko smiled, shook his head, and waved his hand backward. Jiraiya, who had appeared behind him at some point, flew up again.
Tsunade was stunned. Looking at where Jiraiya had just landed, it had turned into a wooden log.
"Body Replacement Technique?"
Masahiko shook his head. "Not just a substitution."
Masahiko's feet left the ground as he floated up.
Looking below him, a pair of hands had appeared.
"He used Shadow Clone and Headhunter Jutsu at the same time."
"His strength isn't bad. Pity..." Masahiko focused, and a large chunk of earth beneath him trembled and detached, with Jiraiya still encased inside.
"To be able to do this..." Beside him, Orochimaru looked surprised. He wasn't too puzzled by making Jiraiya float earlier, assuming it was a special ninjutsu. But Masahiko had lifted thousands of pounds of soil from the ground without forming seals, which was quite impressive.
"Of course! Great-Great-Grandpa is very strong." Tsunade looked proud. "Even stronger than my grandfather!"
Masahiko heard this and looked torn between laughter and tears. "Tsunade, you're talking about gambling, aren't you..."
"Flattery won't work on me. I won't teach you gambling techniques."
In the air, the clump of earth gradually disintegrated, revealing a struggling Jiraiya.
"So, which one is real?" Masahiko smirked mischievously. He quickly brought the two Jiraiyas in the air close together, mouth to mouth.
Jiraiya paled in shock, and one of them disappeared with a poof.
"Have you decided how to address me?" Masahiko smiled at the sky.
"Hmph!" Jiraiya huffed and turned his head away, looking like 'this great lord will not yield.'
Masahiko sighed. Quite spirited. Continue free fall.
"Great-Grandpa!" Seeing he was about to hit the ground again, Jiraiya finally yielded. But this form of address...
Jiraiya landed safely and had just breathed a sigh of relief when Tsunade, who had appeared beside him at some point, punched him flying.
"How dare you take advantage of me!"
Masahiko shook his head with a bitter smile. He didn't expect the fourteen-year-old Tsunade to have such astonishing strength.
Masahiko felt that with the force Tsunade just used, even if he were hit head-on, he'd need a moment to catch his breath. Yet in the distance, Jiraiya limped back without any injuries. This was probably another unsolved mystery of Naruto...
"Tsunade, why did you hit me again!"
The word "again" made Masahiko feel endless bitterness.
"Idiot."
"Orochimaru, what did you say?!"
Seeing Jiraiya and Orochimaru about to start fighting again, Tsunade shouted, "Idiot Jiraiya! That is my Great-Great-Grandpa!"
"Great?" Jiraiya looked confused. He looked at Masahiko. "He's not that great (tall)?"
Masahiko didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Beside him, Orochimaru sneered again. "I really don't know how an idiot like you graduated from the Ninja Academy."
"Great-Great-Grandpa means Grandpa's Grandpa."
"Grandpa's... Grandpa?"
Jiraiya looked at Masahiko, his mouth opening wider and wider. "So he is an old monster?"
The next second, Jiraiya flew into the sky again.
Ten minutes later, Jiraiya lay paralyzed on the ground, stars circling in his eyes. Masahiko had just given him a taste of a "crazy roller coaster" that no one in the Naruto world had ever experienced.
After the playfulness, Masahiko turned to Tsunade. "Did you guys come alone this time?"
Tsunade shook her head. "Sensei brought us here. We just happened to take a mission to escort a caravan to the Land of Whirlpools. Otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to bring Nawaki."
"Eh? Where is Nawaki?"
Masahiko shook his head. Some sister she was.
"Don't worry. He went with Yuna. Plus, there are two Anbu members by his side."
"Anbu?"
Masahiko paused. Tsunade actually didn't know. "That guy Tobirama is using his power for personal gain too. Why do I feel so gratified?"
"By the way, Great-Great-Grandpa, Sensei seems to have brought a message for you from Great-Uncle..."
"Tobirama is looking for me? Interesting. He didn't look for me during the ninja war, but he looks for me after it ends. Is he thinking of sharing some spoils with me...?"
"Let's go, we'll head over."
"Idiot Jiraiya..."
"It's fine, he recovered long ago. He's listening to us over there. You care about him quite a bit?" Masahiko teased.
Tsunade glared and subconsciously wanted to throw a punch, but then realized this was her Great-Great-Grandpa.
Unable to do anything, she turned and walked away.
"Tsunade, wait for me!" Jiraiya scrambled up instantly and chased after her.
Masahiko and Orochimaru fell behind. Masahiko's eyes darted around. "You were very interested in my ninjutsu just now, weren't you?"
"Yes." The response was slightly hoarse.
"That is a technique that can only be used by training Lightning Release and Earth Release nature transformations to the extreme."
Orochimaru revealed a look of interest. Masahiko continued, "However, there is a limit within our bodies. Aside from me, no one has been able to train Lightning and Earth attributes to this level."
"If you want to break the limits of the human body, you must start with cells. Do you know about cells?"
"I know. The Ninja Academy taught knowledge in this area."
Masahiko froze. The Ninja Academy taught this kind of stuff? It must have been added by Tobirama.
Looking at Orochimaru, I can't believe I can't impress you!
"Young man, do you desire eternal life?"
Orochimaru paused, then revealed his signature tongue-licking action.
"Senior, can you give me a few drops of your blood?"
"Don't even think about it!"
Masahiko's face darkened, and he refused decisively.
