As the massive Mouth Blast came straight at them, Raditz and Nappa were swallowed by pure despair. They shut their eyes, bracing for death with nothing but resentment in their hearts… yet the pain they expected never came.
Startled, they opened their eyes—and saw a figure. Small compared to the Great Ape in front of him, yet somehow towering like an unshakable mountain. With just his left hand, palm open, he stopped the attack cold.
"T-Thank you… but… why?" Raditz finally managed to ask after a long silence. "Why save us? We're your enemies."
"Save you? Not really," Broly said without looking back. "I don't care whether you live or die. There's someone who wouldn't want you to die in front of me, that's all. If you want to thank someone, thank Bardock."
Raditz froze at the name, emotions twisting across his face. "Bardock… you mean Father? But he died when Planet Vegeta exploded. How do you even know him?"
Broly didn't answer. Dead? No… not exactly. If only he could travel through time—then he'd meet the true, original Super Saiyan with his own eyes. Goku's terrifying potential must've come straight from that man.
While Broly drifted into thought, Vegeta's fury only intensified.
"Damn you! Again! You ruined my moment AGAIN, you bastard!" the prince roared, charging straight in and throwing a punch at Broly without the slightest concern for the two gravely injured Saiyans behind him.
"Hah!" Broly lifted both arms, blocking Vegeta's furious strike. The sheer force sent him skidding back more than ten meters.
Not that it mattered. Broly's body was absurdly tough. Even if his battle power wasn't half of Vegeta's right now, his physical strength alone let him take the hit without a scratch.
"That's all you've got? If this is your full power, you might as well say your last words and go keep your useless father company."
"I… WILL… KILL YOU!!!"
Broly's taunt snapped what little reason Vegeta had left. His rage surged like a rising tide, and his power spiked again.
In Great Ape form, Vegeta already had a tenfold power boost, pushing him close to 500,000. Before transforming, he hadn't even shown everything he had. Now, enraged, his power shot up again—past 530,000. He unleashed his full might, determined to erase Broly and bury every trace of humiliation the man had caused him.
The Z-Fighters looked up at the sky as the two clashed, darting back and forth in a chaotic blur. Their hearts sank.
"Ha! This is it! This feeling—flesh against flesh, pure force against force! It's amazing!" Broly yelled, trading blows with Vegeta. The Great Ape smashed a fist into Broly's chest, sending him sliding backward, but Broly's counter kick slammed into Vegeta's shoulder a heartbeat later.
The fight locked into a stalemate. Vegeta had a slight edge, but only just barely—nowhere near enough to overwhelm Broly.
At this rate, whoever ran out of stamina first would lose. And stamina was the last thing Broly ever worried about. Ten years of brutal physical training wasn't for nothing.
But would a prideful warrior like Broly settle for a war of attrition?
He knew this couldn't continue. His body was strong, and his hits were heavy—but not enough to seriously injure, let alone kill, Vegeta. Not without something more.
If he didn't use the Kaio-ken, he wouldn't win.
The thought made him exhale in frustration. He didn't realize that, to anyone else, lasting this long against someone twice as strong using only raw physical power would already be unbelievable—terrifying, even.
Vegeta charged him again, still lost in his rage. But this time, Broly didn't raise his arms to block. He sprinted forward as well—and a violent red aura exploded from his body.
Kaio-ken.
Goku had used it countless times throughout the series. Broly could handle roughly a tenfold Kaio-ken by now, but he didn't need anything that high for this fight.
He only used Kaio-ken x2.
Vegeta's massive fist came crashing toward him. Broly met it with his own.
A huge shockwave blasted outward, tearing at the ground beneath them.
But the difference was obvious. Vegeta's mountain-sized fist—and his entire body—were sent flying through the sky from Broly's punch.
Broly didn't stop. His figure vanished, reappearing under Vegeta, and he launched a vicious upward kick.
The giant ape shot into the clouds like a rocket.
Broly appeared above him in the next instant, hands clasped together, and hammered Vegeta's back with a heavy double-fist strike—sending him crashing toward the ground even faster than he'd risen.
When Broly landed, Vegeta was already barely clinging to life. Seeing that, Broly instantly lost all interest.
"Tsk. Only took three hits? Boring." He shrugged, casually fired a blast upward, and shattered Vegeta's artificial moon.
Then he walked toward Goku and the others, who had been watching in stunned silence.
"Hey. Bald kid. Krillin, right? Got any senzu beans left? Give me two."
Krillin, Goku, everyone—they were all wide-eyed, jaws hanging open. The three terrifying Saiyans who had pushed them to despair… had been swatted aside by Broly like they were nothing.
