Chapter 49 - Chapter 49:Crossfire and Collapse!

Kaina hovered high in the air, her cat mask narrowed its focus, lenses zooming in on a single target—a helicopter cutting through the sky at high speed.

Two of Flect Turn's six commanders. Sidero and Beros.

Her finger tightened slightly around her weapon as her voice slipped out in a low murmur, "Running already? That's disappointing…"

Before she could make her move, Beros reacted first.

A volley of arrows shot out from the helicopter, glowing with energy as they zigzagged unnaturally through the air, curving and twisting like they were alive, each one adjusting its trajectory mid-flight as they all locked onto Kaina.

"Tch—tracking shots…" she muttered, instantly accelerating as her jetpack flared brighter, her body weaving sharply through the air as the arrows chased her relentlessly.

She twisted mid-air, pulling out her AK47—Cherry—as she fired in controlled bursts. Pink energy bullets tore through the sky, colliding with the incoming arrows and detonating them one by one in sharp flashes of light.

"You're not the only one with precision," she said coolly.

Suddenly, Black orbs appeared around her without warning.

Kaina's instincts screamed. She jerked her body sideways just as the orbs began expanding violently, warping the air around them as they threatened to swallow her whole.

"So that's your quirk, Sidero." she muttered, narrowing her eyes as she shifted weapons seamlessly, her arm morphing into her sniper rifle. She steadied herself mid-air—just for a fraction of a second—and fired.

The bullet pierced clean through the helicopter.

It struck Sidero directly in the shoulder.

Inside the helicopter, Beros's eyes widened in shock as she staggered back slightly. "What kind of aiming skills does she have!?" she exclaimed, her voice filled with disbelief as she looked at Sidero clutching his wound.

But that single moment of shock was all Kaina needed.

The pilot screamed.

"Wha—?!"

Because Kaina was already there.

Kaina burst through the glass of the helicopter like a bullet herself, her body crashing through with unstoppable force as the entire structure destabilized instantly.

BOOM!

The helicopter exploded mid-air, fire and debris scattering in all directions.

Kaina floated calmly at a distance from the blast, completely untouched, her jetpack stabilizing her in the air as she held a metallic rope in one hand, the unconscious bodies of Sidero, Beros, and the terrified pilot all tightly bound together.

She glanced at them briefly, her tone almost bored as she muttered, "You two are too weak."

Without wasting another second, she turned mid-air and shot toward the Humarise base, her voice low as she added, "Let's wrap this up."

On the battlefield below, Tobita stood amidst the chaos, his cloak fluttering slightly as he spun his staff in a smooth, circular motion as he declared, "Gentle fan!"

The air around him distorted instantly, pressure building and then solidifying under his quirk before being pushed outward in a massive wave.

The impact slammed into the surrounding Humarise soldiers, sending them flying through the air like ragdolls as the battlefield opened up around him.

He adjusted his grip, shrinking his staff slightly to hold it in one hand as he stepped forward—only to instantly react as danger spiked behind him.

The ground beneath his feet turned rubbery as he bounced upward, narrowly dodging a massive strike that shattered the earth where he had just stood.

Landing lightly, he glanced back and saw the attacker.

Rogone.

One of the six commanders.

The man looked like an ogre, his massive frame looming as his arms transformed into spiked iron clubs, gleaming with a brutal edge as he grinned.

"I'll take you down, Novaflex!" Rogone roared, launching himself forward with terrifying speed as he swung both clubbed arms down towards Tobita.

"Gentle rebound," Tobita replied calmly, his tone almost polite as he flicked his fingers. The air in front of him turned rubbery just in time, the massive iron clubs slamming into it—only to bounce back violently from the elastic surface.

Rogone staggered slightly from the recoil, and Tobita took the opportunity to attack.

"Flex smash!"

His staff extended instantly, growing longer and larger as he swung it upward with force, the impact sending Rogone flying into the air.

Without pause, Tobita brought the staff down again.

"Flex wave!"

The ground rippled and turned rubbery. Then surged upward in a massive wave, throwing off the footing of every Humarise soldier nearby as they were launched into the air helplessly.

"You let your guard down!"

Rogone's voice roared from behind him as he appeared suddenly, swinging his massive arms down in a surprise attack.

Tobita didn't even turn.

"Only a fool will talk when trying to sneak attack," he said simply as the ground behind him rose instantly, forming a rubberized wall that blocked the strike completely.

Before Rogone could react, Tobita slammed his staff against it.

"Wall sandwich!"

The wall surged forward violently, smashing into Rogone and carrying him across the battlefield before slamming him into another wall with a crushing impact.

The structure returned to normal, sinking back into the ground as Rogone collapsed, completely unconscious.

Tobita exhaled lightly, adjusting his grip on his staff, and then two voices cut through the battlefield.

"Voltra arrows!"

"Minefield bullets!"

He glanced up just as Melissa and Kaina arrived, both launching attacks simultaneously as red lightning arrows rained down and hidden energy bullets erupted from the ground, blasting through the remaining Humarise forces.

Tobita smiled slightly, stepping forward as he joined them, his staff swinging once more as the three of them moved in perfect coordination.

Inside the Humarise base.

Flect Turn stood frozen, sweat dripping down his forehead as his breath came slightly heavier than before, his eyes locked onto the figure in front of him.

Novabel stood some distance away from him. His Infinity Gauntlet raised, glowing faintly.

"…I'll end this fast," Arata said as he pointed the gauntlet directly at Flect Turn.
