Ragna said and they finally understood why he had been dodging all those while.
The trio had a deep frown on their faces, even though they were there for revenge, it would be useless if their opponent couldn't fight them because he was under a punishment.
"Also, I am sure you wouldn't want such a thing as a halfhearted victory, right?"
Ragna said with a smirk.
'Of course, it would be stupid for me to fight in my current state, also, it's not like I am really lying anyways, if I beat them once more, I might actually get expelled, what are the chances of anyone believing it was self defence, those dumb azz disciplinary hall would obviously say I was trying to revenge on them.
'Also, since I have no family, life might get worse for me, and most importantly, I would be forced to starve, the academy is the only place I can get the chance to both become an awakener and get free food!'
Ragna analyzed,if he was going to be punished once again. He didn't see the need to risk his life to fight them, especially when there were no benefits to it.
"You bastard, we know you are trying to use that as an excuse to run away!"
Ned snorted in anger, even though he was aware Ragna was telling the truth, he couldn't let his opponent slip away now that he was finally in his grasp.
"Wait. You said you can't fight because you're under punishment right?"
Hansen suddenly said with a cruel smirk, making Ragna nod his head sleepily. He seemed to have gotten a brilliant idea, as he stared at Ragna, since he was sure Ragna was just trying to use the punishment as an excuse, he had thought of something.
"Since we can't fight you inside the school premises, how about we do it somewhere else, where no one would be able to pry?"
Ragna almost jumped in excitement when he heard what he said, he didn't know what exactly prompted Hansen to say that, but he was definitely happy about it.
The last time after their confrontation, he had gotten a hidden quest that needed him to absorb their abilities. Ever since then, he had been wondering how to complete it, since they had disappeared. However, now not only did they appear before him, but they were also offering themselves on a platter.
Of course, he would obviously accept it.
'You want to redeem yourselves so badly that you guys are unknowingly walking into your own trap. Though let's pretend a bit, so they would bite harder into their own bait.'
"Huh, why would I want to fight you outside? What would I even gain from fighting you guys?"
"It's obvious there's no benefit in telling me to fight you guys outside, when there's obviously nothing I would gain even if I win again."
Ned wanted to retort, but Hansen was ready to see through his plans for Ragna.
"He doesn't have the guts to fight back, and is just looking for an excuse to run away!"
Ragna had decided to make them bite their own bait harder. If they thought they had chances of winning, they would obviously try to throw in something to force him to fight them.
Even if they didn't agree, he would definitely look for another means to absorb their abilities, albeit it would be a bit more difficult.
"Fine, I have an ability enhancement elixir, if you agree to fight us outside of the school premises, it would be yours, regardless of whether we win against you or lose. "
"How am I sure you will give me the elixir whether I win or not? For all I know you might deny you ever said anything like that."
Ragna retorted, of course he didn't need the elixir, but he wanted to make sure they had taken the bait successfully.
"What do you take me for?"
Hansen said with irritation, his father was a billionaire, and with him being the next heir, there was no elixir he couldn't afford, nor would giving Ragna a single low rank elixir affect him anyway.
"Fine, I can give you my signature or anything to prove that I will, and if I don't you can do what you please!"
Hansen stated with confidence, he wasn't lying, but he definitely wouldn't give him the elixir unscathed.
Ragna squinted his eyes, as if staring at him with doubt and suspicion.
"Alright!"
"Good, meet us at the Odin factory, where the sun doesn't shine at 7pm!. Hopefully you don't turn tail and run away!"
Hansen said he was going to make today Ragna's last day of becoming an awakener. He was sure that with the elixir he had thrown as bait, there was no way the local bum was going to miss that opportunity to get such in his life.
Ability enhancement elixir was something that was not only rare to get but also quite expensive, and with how poor Ragna was, he definitely would do everything in his power to get his hands on it.
Hansen nodded at the two beside him; they glared at Ragna for a while before following behind Hansen as they walked away.
