Chapter 20 - CHAPTER TWENTY

Elini sighed for the uptenth time as she stared at the stack of papers in front of her, she really shouldn't have been so hyperactive when she came to school, she even stupidly joined her new friend that she met on the day of orientation into the student union. Now, she barely had any time for herself, as the semester progressed, she became busier and busier, classes became even more hectic. Now she really regretted her impulsive decision, she complained to Irida and Theodore whenever she could and even her mom who comes to visit every f ew weeks had gradually gotten tired of Elini's nagging and complaints, but Elini couldn't help it, life was really tough

"This is all Ingrid's fault" Elini said hatefully

Sometimes she really got tempted to beat the girl up. Elini met the shy Ingrid during the school's orientation and they hit it off almost immediately. Ingrid was a really pretty brunette and was always curious about everything which perfectly suited Elini's own personality. Ingrid had claimed to hear about how powerful the student union was and also wanted to experience it. Elini who was also someone who followed excitement decided to join in the fun and that was how the two curious friends got tangled up in the student union.

Ingrid had soon become more outspoken and lively, far from the shy girl Elini met months ago

"Girrrrlllllllll, guess what I just heard" Ingrid's voice was heard as she sprinted into the union office

Ingrid always knew everyone's business and was a gossip queen, she even knew about who kissed whom and who was cheating on whom. Sometimes Elini couldn't help but wonder if she bugged the whole school

"What's it this time In?" Elini asked as she massaged her temple lightly

She really needed to find time to rest

"Can you at least show some enthusiasm" Ingrid said as she pretended to be angry

"Whatever, anyways guess what happened in the architecture faculty recently?" Ingrid asked as she plastered her face close to Elini's face

"Did they get a new transfer student?" Elini asked a little uninterested

All Elini was thinking of was how to finish up with the stack of documents and hopefully get a wink of sleep

"Bah, it's even jucier than the last medical faculty scandal. So you know their faculty president right? That guy who acts like there's peacock feathers stuck in his ass. Who thinks he's a king all day long"

"Yeah, what's up with him?" Elini asked finally showing interest, after all a little bit of gossip wouldn't hurt and it'd help her relax

"Turns out he's a two timing scum. He was dating a girl from business administration and another girl from the fine arts department" Ingrid said animatedly

"what a scum" Elini said in disgust

"That's not all, he was also trying to woo the new transfer student from foreign language when his girlfriend in business administration caught him, eventually the whole issue escalated and it became a really big mess and it eventually got to the ears of the girl in the fine arts department. Later on, both his girlfriends broke up with him on the spot, I heard they even gave him really good slaps, and he also got banned from approaching girls from the three facilities" Ingrid explained excitedly as she munched on chips

"He deserves it" Elini said as she grabbed some chips and also began munching "if I was there, I would have generously contributed two more slaps. That's me doing good deeds and accumulating good karma"

The two girls continued with their conversation

"Captain" one of the soldiers called "you received a letter" he said handing Finn a brown envelope, he saluted and left Finn's office

Finn tore open the envelope and saw the name of the person he had been thinking about. He really missed his boyfriend, the content of the letter was simple, it informed him about his life in the past two months, asking about Finn's health and worrying if he was living well. At the end of the letter we're the three words he wished to hear from his lover again 'i love you'

Finn read the letter over and over again, admiring his darling's delicate handwriting and engraving the content of the letter in his heart.

For the rest of the week, the soldiers noticed that their captain was always smiling and in a good mood. The captain didn't scold them when they made mistakes and he didn't loose his temper when the dinning hall was noisy.

The soldiers really wished they could thank the person who sent the letter
