Chapter 5 - Ch. 5: When the Heavens Tremble

The sky fractured.

From the rift above, golden chains poured down like rain — divine restraints forged from the laws of the world itself.

Each one hummed with a voice of judgment, echoing through the ruins of Valtherion Academy.

> "Unit Kaelis_01, you carry the fragment of forbidden creation. Surrender it, or face annihilation."

Arven stood amidst the chaos, his coat torn, his breath uneven.

The ground beneath his feet was scorched glass, yet his eyes burned brighter than the storm.

"Annihilation?" He smirked. "I've already been erased once."

The god-like entity descended further, its body made of radiant metal, a halo of fractured runes orbiting its head.

Its voice carried both sorrow and rage.

> "You are the echo of the first sin, Kaelis. The one who defied the source."

Lightning danced around Arven as his sigil reactivated, flooding the air with blue energy.

Lyra shouted from behind the barrier Daren had raised, "Arven, stop! You can't fight that thing head-on!"

He turned slightly, a flicker of humanity in his voice.

"I'm not fighting it to win. I'm fighting to remember why I was made."

Then he leapt.

The earth shattered beneath his feet as he shot upward, leaving a trail of light that pierced the storm.

His fist met the divine's descending blade — the impact thundered like collapsing worlds.

Shockwaves rippled outward, disintegrating everything in a hundred-meter radius.

The god's arm twisted, fracturing slightly. Its eyes flickered in disbelief.

> "Impossible… no mortal should withstand divine compression."

Arven's hair flowed with energy, his voice layered with a metallic echo.

"Then stop calling me mortal."

He thrust his hand forward — and the sigil in his palm expanded into a blazing circle of runes.

Each rune pulsed with power older than language itself.

> "System override: Resonance Break."

A surge of energy erupted, slicing through the god's shield.

For a brief instant, the divine was forced back — not destroyed, but wounded. Its form destabilized, leaking trails of celestial light.

Daren's eyes widened. "He's… hurting it. A human is hurting a god."

Lyra whispered, almost afraid. "That's not human anymore…"

The god roared, extending its wings of energy, filling the sky with light so blinding that even the shadows vanished.

> "Then perish with your defiance!"

The heavens fell.

A column of divine flame descended — reality bent under the impact.

When the light faded, there was only silence… and dust.

Then, from within the crater, a faint pulse of blue.

Arven emerged, bloodless, glowing cracks across his skin like molten glass.

His voice was low, trembling — but unyielding.

"This world… was never yours to judge."

He lifted his gaze — the god hesitated.

> "Because before the Light… there was me."

The entire sky rippled.

Thunder roared backwards.

And the god — for the first time — stepped back.

The resonance surged again, distorting space.

Arven's power wasn't stable, his human shell breaking apart.

Lyra screamed, running toward him. "Stop! You'll lose yourself!"

He turned his head slightly, giving her one last look.

"…Then remember me, before I do."

The explosion of light that followed reached the heavens.
