Chapter 10 - 10

Chapter 10: Pursuit

Substitution Jutsu. This Ninjutsu technique immediately flashed through Ling Xiao's mind. In this world, besides the Mutants, modified humans, and Superheroes in the Western world, there are also the Holy See, Japanese Ninjutsu from the Eastern world, and the martial arts of Greater China, making it quite lively.

Yashida Jiro has always been perceived as a frivolous playboy, seen daily with two or three American girls frequenting bars, KTVs, and dance halls. But who would have thought this guy was hiding his true abilities so deeply?

Of course, this might also be related to the internal disputes within the Nisshin-kai. After all, the apparent successor of the Nisshin-kai is Shizhi Xuan's eldest son, Yashida Ichiro. If Yashida Jiro didn't act a bit useless, his elder brother, who has always harbored ill feelings towards him, probably wouldn't tolerate him.

Of course, by this point, those who were supposed to die should be dead, and no one would leak Yashida Jiro's affairs. The Chinese Gang naturally wouldn't go to Shizhi Xuan and say, 'I killed your second son, but strangely he didn't die.' Such a thing would be a great loss of Face.

Just as Ling Xiao breathed a sigh of relief and was about to leave, two figures suddenly jumped into a car and sped out of the dock. Ling Xiao saw clearly from the top of the container that the two people chasing were the ones he was most familiar with: Si Hai Gang's boss, Zhang Xiaotian, and one of his subordinates, Qin Ming, Ling Xiao's brother from the orphanage.

Ling Xiao frowned, glanced at the Gang members cleaning up the scene, and carefully slipped down from the container, chasing in the direction Zhang Xiaotian and Qin Ming had gone.

The car was very fast, speeding along the coastal road. This area was on the outskirts of Los Angeles, and the southern coast was not as prosperous as the north. There were not many residents along the street, making it quite desolate.

A quarter of an hour later, with Qin Ming's frantic acceleration, they finally caught up with the black sedan ahead. Without a second thought, they crashed into it. With a loud 'bang,' the two cars collided fiercely, then simultaneously veered off to the side, crashing into two large trees by the street.

Such an impact could not affect everyone. The next moment, three figures simultaneously shot out from Yashida Jiro's car. Besides Yashida Jiro himself, the other two were Bullseye and Elektra.

After getting out of the car, the three subtly spread out. Yashida Jiro stood to the left of the car, dressed in a white Ninjutsu suit, holding a katana and kunai, carefully on guard. He was not only wary of Zhang Xiaotian and Qin Ming, who had gotten out of the other car, but also subtly of Bullseye and Elektra on the other side.

Elektra, in her red attire, had her two sai in her hands at some unknown point. The overturned vehicles were already engulfed in flames, casting an eerie glow on Elektra and Yashida Jiro.

Bullseye, dressed in black, stood alone in the shadows, coldly observing the sudden turn of events. No one knew what he was thinking.

This was reality, after all, not a movie. No one said much. Zhang Xiaotian and Qin Ming simply exchanged glances and then lunged at Elektra and Yashida Jiro. Their role was merely to tie up the opponents; the real experts would arrive shortly.

The battle immediately entered a fierce struggle. Zhang Xiaotian faced Elektra, his hardened palms faintly glowing with a stony light, unafraid to clash directly with Elektra's sai. After a series of clanging sounds, Elektra's sai repeatedly struck Zhang Xiaotian's body, but his hard Qi cultivation only left a few marks on him, rendering her helpless.

Of course, Zhang Xiaotian relied not only on his hardened Qi cultivation, but also on the high-tech protective suit he wore, which could significantly offset Elektra's attacks. Although Elektra's movements were constantly shifting, she found it difficult to break through Zhang Xiaotian's defense. And if she accidentally took a palm strike, the whistling wind alone suggested it would be anything but pleasant.

The two fought fiercely, but neither unleashed their true power, knowing that if they did, it would be with the force of a thunderbolt.

On the other side, Qin Ming held a slender iron staff, extending and retracting, constantly shifting. Yashida Jiro, in his white attire, moved erratically, his katana slicing through the Void Realm with sharp flashes of light, striking directly at Qin Ming's chest.

With a soft 'clang,' Yashida Jiro's strike was blocked by Qin Ming's iron staff. Qin Ming then took the opportunity to thrust at Yashida Jiro's chest. At this moment, the residual glow of the flames clearly illuminated the tip of the staff, revealing a semi-circular spike. If it pierced someone, it would immediately create a bloody hole.

This was practically a sharp spear, a high-density steel staff-spear with immense power. Yashida Jiro was slightly careless, and the staff-spear had already pierced his body. However, before any joy could appear on Qin Ming's Face, Yashida Jiro in front of him transformed into a wisp of smoke and dissipated on the spot.

"Not good!" A sense of crisis surged in Qin Ming's heart, and a cold wind rose out of nowhere behind his head. He instinctively swung the staff-spear behind his head. With a dull 'clang,' Yashida Jiro's katana struck Qin Ming's staff-spear. Before Yashida Jiro could make any other move, Qin Ming had already rolled forward, evading Yashida's horizontal slash.

Having escaped this fatal crisis, Qin Ming, still shaken, turned to look at Yashida Jiro, who had appeared behind him at some unknown point, his heart filled with extreme vigilance. This guy was too well-hidden; no one knew the true extent of his power.

Watching Qin Ming carefully standing there, blocking his path, Yashida Jiro sneered. His white attire appeared particularly eerie under the firelight. The next moment, Yashida Jiro lunged at Qin Ming again.

If it were purely a head-on clash of strength, Yashida Jiro might not be much stronger than Qin Ming. However, his peculiar Ninjutsu constantly appeared in unexpected places for Qin Ming, bringing intermittent crises. In less than two or three minutes, Qin Ming had already sustained several wounds.

Qin Ming's situation was not good, and Zhang Xiaotian's situation was equally dire. After a brief adjustment, Elektra had already found a way to deal with Zhang Xiaotian. Her two sai continuously jabbed at Zhang Xiaotian's back, her shifting movements making it impossible for Zhang Xiaotian to defend. The continuous jabs to his back began to cause him stinging pain. Although this couldn't break his hard Qi, it had indeed suppressed him.

Ling Xiao was hidden in the shadows, his gaze more focused on Bullseye. If Bullseye suddenly attacked, Zhang Xiaotian and Qin Ming would likely not escape. Ling Xiao was still hesitating whether to make a move first when Qin Ming, in the center of the field, ran into trouble.

Yashida Jiro slashed at Qin Ming's throat. Originally, Qin Ming's staff-spear could have blocked this strike, but at the crucial moment, his hand movements involuntarily slowed, and Yashida Jiro's katana, carrying a faint glimmer, was already cutting towards his throat.

Qin Ming still had some skill. At the critical moment, he didn't hesitate, no longer considering his own safety. He thrust his staff-spear sharply downwards, directly stabbing at Yashida Jiro's heart, exchanging injury for injury, life for life, without hesitation.

If it were purely like that, Yashida Jiro would have been able to cope. However, before his body could shift, he already felt a deep, cold killing intent from behind him. If he insisted on killing Qin Ming, he would definitely not be able to avoid the killing intent from behind.

At the critical moment, Yashida Jiro moved, slashing a deep wound across Qin Ming's left shoulder, then his entire body transformed into a white smoke and vanished from the spot. Beside Qin Ming, a man dressed in black, wearing a Sun Wukong mask, appeared on the scene.
