Chapter 8 - 8

Having profusely thanked and sent off the kind Uncle Jimmy, a grateful Greer turned around to examine the temporary lodging he had obtained through fellow-countryman's friendship. The room was about twenty square meters and was very clean.

There was a glass window facing south directly opposite the door and another facing west on the right side. In the southwest corner between the two windows was a set of table and chairs. To the north of the table and chairs was a single bed with a clean set of bedding. A liquid crystal television was hung on the wall opposite the foot of the bed, and a plant whose name he didn't know was placed in the southeast corner. A wardrobe was placed between the flowerpot and the television.

With just these few pieces of furniture, the small room was basically filled. It wasn't much different from the rental room Greer lived in during his previous life, except he didn't know how much the rent was. Greer was inclined to rent here, after all, Uncle Jimmy was quite friendly. Although such enthusiasm might be to get Greer to rent his place, it was still better than landlords who didn't even bother to pretend and acted like 'I'm the boss'.

What's more, he also said he could try it for free for a few days, allowing him to look around for a cheaper and better place nearby, and he could even work in his store. Such kind-hearted people were truly rare.

Thinking of this, Greer placed the fried rice bowl in his hand on the table, sat down, and took out all his 'possessions' to count them: the wallet obtained from robbing the rich, two identity cards of unknown authenticity, the dart pulled from his chest, and the Knight Card. That was all.

First, he opened the wallet. With just one glance, Greer cursed 'poor devil' inwardly. The wallet looked thick, but most of it was loose change, with only a few Franklins (hundred-dollar bills). Counting it, it wasn't even a thousand dollars. Could this amount of money cover a month's rent? Greer felt very uncertain.

Flipping through the wallet, there was a driver's license in the interlayer. The name on it was Alexei Mikhailovich Sisyevich, clearly a battle-hardened ethnicity style. No wonder his body was so sturdy. He figured it was because it was night, plus the guy's skin was tanned dark by the sun, causing him to be mistaken for a black person.

Thinking about it, his hands weren't slow either. He stuffed the money and his two identity cards back into his pocket, put Alexei's driver's license back into the wallet, thinking of finding a place to throw this thing far away. Then he picked up the dart he had pulled from his chest and examined it carefully in front of his eyes.

The silver-white metal surface was smooth as a mirror, and the sharp blades on both sides glinted coldly. He looked at it repeatedly several times but found no clues. It was clearly not from a famous assassin. Famous assassins and killers in television and movies always carved their exclusive marks on throwing knives and darts to advance the plot. This one had nothing, how was he supposed to find anything?

But if he didn't carve it, there was nothing you could do.

"Indeed, movies and novels are all lies," Greer sighed helplessly, threw the dart onto the table, and picked up the Knight Card with his backhand. The surface of the card, which had a magenta background tone, was very smooth. Although very thin, it was very hard and couldn't be bent even with force. It didn't feel like common materials such as metal, plastic, or paper. The touch felt somewhat similar to the Diqi Armor.

The patterns on both sides of the card were the same as in the tokusatsu show. The difference was that the Decade head pattern on this card, like the Emperor Rider he transformed into last night, only had black and white colors, not magenta, and the large compound eyes were blue instead of emerald green.

At the bottom of the card was a line of small silver text: Decade Base Form

Punching Power: 1t

Kicking Power: 2t

Jumping Power: 10m

Running Speed: 100m/8s

If it were ten minutes ago, knowing he possessed a ton of strength would definitely make him overjoyed. But this was Marvel, where people with over a ton of strength were everywhere. Even Captain America, whose strength was less than a ton, could defeat him with his superb fighting skills.

After all, punching isn't just about swinging your fist to achieve the strongest blow; it requires mobilizing most of the muscles in your entire body. Just like when he attacked that battle-hardened Alexei and his companion last night, he didn't use his full strength in his haste. Otherwise, their brains might have been knocked out instead of just being simply knocked unconscious.

However, Greer remembered that in the tokusatsu show, there was no mention of a Decade Base Form. Kadoya Tsukasa, as the protagonist, appeared in his magenta normal form from the start. This should be related to him possessing nine parallel Kamen Rider cards before losing his memory.

If that's the case, perhaps collecting nine other Kamen Rider cards can activate the magenta normal form, and upgrading the nine cards to their ultimate forms should allow him to become the strongest Complete Form, right?

Reaching out and lifting his short sleeve, his five fingers grasped the Decade Driver. The silver metal belt along with the Knight Card Box instantly vanished. Greer's left hand also suddenly felt empty; the Decade card had disappeared with them. It seemed that canceling the transformation would make everything related to the Diqi Armor disappear together.

For example, if a weapon was picked up by an enemy, canceling the transformation would make the weapon disappear with it, so there was no need to worry about it falling into enemy hands and being researched. Especially now, in 2010, HYDRA was still hidden within S.H.I.E.L.D.. If his possession of the Diqi Armor were discovered, it wouldn't just be one department of S.H.I.E.L.D. paying attention to him. The most important thing was strength. If he possessed strength like Thor or Thanos, who would dare come looking for trouble with him? They would be scared to death.

Thinking about it, Greer had already brought the Decade Driver before his eyes. The ruby in the center emitted a faint light. This light shone into Greer's eyes, as if passing through a polarizing filter, forming an image on Greer's retina.

In the center of his vision was the card depicting the Emperor Rider image. Around it were lines of text with a distinct oracle bone script style. Although Greer clearly couldn't understand them, he strangely knew the meaning of these texts.

The general meaning was that the Decade Base Form possessed dimensional vision and dimensional tracking, eight times that of ordinary people's sight and hearing. The Diqi Armor on the surface of the body could withstand forces not exceeding ten tons, and the divine muscles could resist penetrating impacts like ultrasound from causing damage to internal organs.

The text describing more than ten other abilities, such as the levitating Tesla rings and the strength-enhancing divine stone, was gray. It was clear that these abilities had not yet been activated. Perhaps they required upgrading to the magenta normal form or the Violent Emotion Form, or even the strongest Complete Form, to activate all abilities.

Besides the Emperor Rider card, there were also one or two dozen other Kamen Rider cards. However, these Knight Cards were all gray and dull compared to the Emperor Rider card, clearly in an unactivated state.

Below the Knight Cards were even more cards. Greer's mind stirred, and the Knight Cards slid upwards and disappeared from his field of vision, while the weapon cards below entered Greer's sight.
