Chapter 123 - Chapter 123: A Fragile Sisterhood

Unexpectedly, Rias returned so quickly. Akeno reluctantly sat up.

Rias's eye twitched slightly as she tried her best to remain calm and asked:

"Akeno, what is going on here?"

As she spoke, she stepped closer, an indescribable aura emanating from her. Her voice sounded as though it was being forcibly restrained.

"Hehe… I was teaching Ryuya flight magic."

Akeno answered casually, completely unfazed, her usual smiling expression still on her face.

"Flight magic? Then why are you two on the ground instead of in the air?"

Rias's expression turned displeased.

Ryuya tilted his head slightly and replied, "We made a mistake and fell from the air."

That was technically the truth. He had thought he had already grasped it. Though, in reality, it was mostly because of Akeno's interference.

Naturally, Rias didn't believe it, so she stared at Akeno.

"Just that? Because to me, it looks like you were about to go much further… and beyond."

"Ara ara, I wasn't planning to go all the way, you know?"

"Hmph. Even if you weren't, this is already crossing the line."

"Oh? Isn't it a bit unfair for someone like you, who monopolizes him every night, to say that?" Akeno smiled sweetly at Rias. "So, how is it? Does Ryuya taste good?"

That decisive strike left Rias speechless.

"How could I possibly tell you that!"

"Which is why I decided to find out for myself."

"..."

"..."

Akeno and Rias locked eyes.

For a moment, the atmosphere fell into silence.

Ryuya couldn't help but grin.

These two… their pressure is intense…

Leaning against the sofa as he sat on the floor, Ryuya watched the two girls confronting each other, a faint smile on his face.

Amid the tense atmosphere, Rias was the first to lose her composure. Defeated by Akeno's ever-smiling demeanor, she shot Ryuya a glare. Seeing his calm smile, she walked over.

Bending down, she grabbed his cheek.

"Ryuya, are you enjoying this? Did you have a nice time bonding with gentle big sister Akeno?"

"Eh…" Ryuya dragged out his voice and chuckled. "Not really. Right now, you and Asia are still in the lead, Rias."

Only then did Rias let out a light snort. She glanced at Akeno before puffing her cheeks slightly.

"Do whatever you want."

After saying that, she sat down on the sofa.

It was rare to see her make such an expression. Ryuya couldn't help but take a few extra glances.

Akeno chuckled softly. "A jealous Rias is quite cute."

She was really adding fuel to the fire. At this rate, they might end up becoming a fake sisterhood.

Ryuya smacked his lips and sat down on the sofa as well, wrapping an arm around Rias's shoulders.

"Rias, did you inform President Sona? What's her opinion?"

"Yes. She also feels that the situation is quite serious and has already become cautious."

"It's better to prepare early," Ryuya said softly.

"I've reminded her of that as well. She should already be taking action now. We can't afford to wait any longer either." Rias nodded. "When the time comes, I'll contact Koneko and check on her situation."

However, just as she finished speaking, Rias's phone rang.

It was a call from Koneko Toujou.

"President, something's happened."

Koneko spoke concisely. "Those two Holy Sword wielders were attacked by Fallen Angels. One of them is seriously injured."

"Where are you? Were you discovered?"

"I'm fine. I'm in the woods next to the Central Park. I'm with the seriously injured one."

"We'll be there immediately."

After realizing the possible intentions of the Fallen Angels, Rias could no longer ignore the situation on the Holy Sword users' side. She quickly hung up the phone.

Ryuya had heard everything as well.

He immediately stood up. "I'll go get Asia."

Asia had just finished preparing lunch, but upon hearing that something had happened, she hurriedly followed Ryuya back inside.

Akeno had already prepared a teleportation circle.

"Let's go."

With a flash of light, the group instantly arrived in the forest beside Central Park.

Koneko was standing on a patch of grass, and beside her lay a twin-tailed girl, the very same Holy Sword wielder who had left earlier, Irina Shidou.

Irina looked extremely battered. Her combat outfit was torn beyond recognition, exposing large portions of her skin, leaving her chest completely unprotected.

Ryuya glanced down briefly, then immediately said to Asia, "Her injuries are severe. Stabilize her first."

"Understood." Asia knelt beside Irina and said gently, "Miss Irina, please hold on."

A soft light emanated from her hands as her Sacred Gear, Twilight Healing, appeared. Soon, Irina's wounds began to heal rapidly.

The girl slowly opened her eyes. Upon seeing Ryuya and the others, she weakly said, "The Holy Sword… was taken…"

"Hm?"

Ryuya scanned her body and, as expected, did not find her "Holy Sword of Mimicry."

That meant the Fallen Angels now possessed four Holy Swords.

"You should focus on recovering. Leave the rest to us."

Ryuya spoke softly, then asked Asia, "How is she?"

"Her injuries will heal, but Twilight Healing can't restore her depleted stamina…" Asia replied, looking apologetically at Irina.

"It's fine. President Sona will be here soon. We'll have them escort her to a safe place," Rias said calmly.

At this point, no one had the time to worry about Irina's affiliation with the Angel faction.

Soon, Sona Sitri arrived with her peerage through teleportation. Already serious by nature, her expression was now even more grave.

"Rias, Kokabiel seems to have appeared. I think I can sense that terrifying presence…"

"I understand. Sona, have someone escort this girl to a safe place to rest first."

"Alright."

From behind the student council president, a girl stepped forward, lifted Irina, and left. She seemed to be one of Sona's Rooks.

"What do you plan to do next?" Sona asked softly.

"There's no other choice. Even if we know it might be a trap, I can only seek my brother's help."

Rias sighed. Their current strength was not enough to contend with a Fallen Angel of Kokabiel's level.

Kiba approached Ryuya. "Master… we're not seriously going to fight something at that level, right?"

"Scared?"

"Uh, not really…"

Ryuya smiled faintly. "That's good. Don't worry, they won't succeed so easily."

Kiba was stunned.

He truly couldn't understand Ryuya.

…Is Master really that confident?
