Chapter 93 - The Birthday [ 2 ]

It didn't take me long to find some wreckage.

There were wooden planks scattered around the ocean, and even some corpses.

Most of the corpses belonged to humans, but I could even see a few that belonged to the sirens.

I desperately searched every body I found, and thankfully... Clementine's father's corpse wasn't among them.

Just then, I spotted a swashbuckler stuck in one of the wooden planks.

Pirates...

Shit.

There weren't many pirates in this world.

But the ones that were active were all very strong.

That didn't matter to me.

I only needed to bring back Clementine's father.

And since he's not here, that means the pirates took him in and are planning to sell him to slavers.

I closed my eyes and tried to calm down.

Yet for some reason, my heart was thumping abnormally loudly, and the anger I felt was even greater.

I glanced down at the ocean.

To my surprise, there were two tiny glowing white horns sprouting from my forehead.

Startled, I raised my hand to inspect the horns.

But in the short time my hand covered my reflection, the horns vanished.

"..."

Anger and demonic horns.

Is this happening because of the Demon King of Wrath's blood?

As much as I'd like to test it out again, now's not the time.

Since the pirates were taking the sirens to slavers, they'd dock at the nearest port.

Which coincidentally was on the Elodrenia continent.

I turned my body into pure lightning and began flying in the direction of that port.

Lightning traveled fast, but maybe because my mastery isn't high... I'm not traveling nearly as fast as I'd like.

Still, within just a few minutes, I got there.

As expected, there were a couple dozen unmarked ships.

The majority were regular ships, but there was one in particular that was much larger than the others.

It looked like it had a steam engine inside it too.

That's Reyna's ship.

She's one of the heroines, but she's also someone who wouldn't hesitate to betray someone as long as it suited her.

I didn't like her.

And I definitely didn't trust her.

I changed my hair and eyes to brown and landed, shooting a spark of lightning into the city.

As I teleported to it, I found myself in a back alley which was filled to the brim with fish heads.

The smell was nothing short of disgusting.

But I waddled my way through the fish heads and into the city.

Port city of Roland.

Although it was known for its delicious fish dishes, I bet everyone would have a different perception of this place if they knew the fishermen were bloodthirsty pirates.

When I arrived at the center, I leaned against one of the buildings and spread my Telekinesis all throughout the city.

There were a lot of fairly strong people here.

But the ones with the most power were gathered in the slum area.

And... I also felt a few weak energies beside them.

That's where the slavers were.

My guess is, that's also where Clementine's father was.

So before it's too late, I quickly navigated the streets, passing by the tens of fish merchants.

The moment I got there, I saw a regular bar.

Underneath it was a whole underground marketplace filled with tunnels that led out of the city, and carriages which had long chains connecting them.

"..."

Deep down... I wanted to wipe this whole place off the map.

It was disgusting how someone could stoop this low.

But I held myself back and stepped into the bar.

It was bustling with people.

Their voices, laughs, and cheers... were all muted to me.

All I was focused on was my own breath.

Ignoring everyone, I approached the back entrance.

Right as I placed my hand on the door, I felt a hand on my shoulder.

All the voices that had been muted suddenly returned.

"Ahahaha!"

"Drink! Drink! Drink!"

As for the one who placed his hand on my shoulder...

"You're not supposed to go there. If you want to order something, sit down and I'll be right there with you in a few minutes or so."

I stared at him.

There were a bunch of excuses I felt like I could come up with.

Perhaps, weasel my way inside some other way.

...But why should I?

There was a much more effective way to enter this place.

A faint smile appeared on my face.

Then, I extended my finger toward the barkeep's head.

And then I took a breath, a thin arc of lightning pierced the barkeep right between the eyes.

His body slumped since I killed him instantly.

"Huh?"

"H-Hey! Jerald!"

"Fuck! He's dead!"

The customers immediately burst out in a panic and ran away.

All the while, I didn't bat an eye at the corpse beneath my feet as I broke the door handle of the locked door and went down a flight of stairs.

I found myself in a cave.

A brightly lit cave.

There were hundreds of people inside.

But the majority were to the left.

The whole left part of the cave seemed like a giant auction.

Seats, and even a stage on which there were a couple dozen cages.

Some muscular men were inside.

Some beautiful women too.

Muffled voices soon rang out in my ear.

"150 gold coins!"

"151 gold coins!"

"250 gold coins!"

"Do I hear 251? Anyone?"

The auctioneer waited for a few moments, then lowered his arm with a grin.

"Sold for 250 gold coins to Viscount Florencia!"

Ah...

What did I expect?

This is the reality of this world.

And I keep being reminded of it every single day.

Exhaling a sharp breath, I focused on my body.

In an instant, I covered myself in Atomic Telekinesis.

For now, I could only mirror an atom four times.

Considering I just started learning it, that wasn't bad at all.

With my body being four times more durable now, I finally felt like I could begin.

Raising my hand slightly, I enveloped the heads of every single non-slave here with my Telekinesis.

There were some people like Reyna and a few others who would notice instantly, so I didn't touch them.

But as for those who were helpless to my Telekinesis...

They were all going to die.
