I slept like shit.
Clementine hogged the whole bed, and because of how much food we ate, we were both a mess.
Either way...
I won the food eating contest.
Hehe.
I got up from the bed and quietly snuck out.
The waterfall was a nice place to wash up, so that's exactly what I did.
After that, I decided to rest by the water and inspect the envelope.
I never really knew what was written here.
So this is going to be a surprise for me too...

But we've also started to head toward demon subjugation due to the increasing amount of demons over the last couple of decades.

You'll be awarded contribution points for every completed mission. The amount depends on the difficulty of the mission. Once your contributions are high enough, the recruiter will show you a way to use your contribution points.

Hmm...
It wasn't as extensive as I'd imagined.
Still, it got the main points across, and so I just tossed the envelope back into my dimensional ring and got back into the water.
I swam around for a few hours until, finally, Clementine woke up.
She looked groggy, and her crimson hair was a mess.
We didn't use our disguises at home, obviously.
"You're already up?"
Clementine approached, but as she spotted my clothes to the side, she halted and abruptly turned around.
"L-Let me know when you wash up and get dressed. I want to go in next."
As she started walking back to our home, I held back the urge to invite her in here.
But eh.
We're not there yet.

A few hours had passed.
By now, we were both in the library, browsing through the romance book section.
Though...
"You know the demon subjugation missions are on the top shelf, right?"
This little lass was down at the bottom.
She didn't even hear what I said.
And as I peeped over to what she was reading, I realized she was actually reading some erotic manga.
Well...
I guess this is one way to have her learn about this kind of stuff...?
Either way, I let her do whatever she wanted as I chose a mission for us.
After just a few minutes of searching, I found something.

Deciding not to break Clementine out of her... immersive reading, I walked over to the librarian and gave him the book with the mission.
He inspected it carefully, and after marking it down in his notes, he nodded at me.
"I wrote down that both of you are taking this mission. You must leave within a week, and whenever you come back, all I require is a mission report."
"Oh, and while I understand some newbies have the urge to make their reports sound more dramatic and dangerous than they actually were just so they get more contribution points... Please refrain from that."
Rio crossed his arms and clicked his tongue.
"Otherwise, the organization's leader might personally come by and question you."
Of course, no one wanted that.
Neither did I.
So after going through some more pleasantries and basic mission etiquette, I went back to Clementine, and after crouching down, I blew into her ear.
"Kyaa!"
Startled, she tossed the manga into the air, putting all the erotic pages on display.
It was like something straight out of a rom-com.
But to avoid the cliché of the manga landing tits-first on the most erotic page of them all, I caught it midair and placed it back onto the shelf.
Then, I turned to Clementine with a smile.
"We've got a mission. Are you ready?"
She still looked a little flustered, but after standing up and dusting herself off, she swiftly made her way out of the library.
Not like she knew where she was going, though.
Either way, the Alvaras Territory was pretty far.
Right by the ocean, actually.
The same ocean that separated the Skyward Continent and the Elodrenia Continent, where the main character and the others were.
I haven't heard much about them.
Though, if I'm getting the timeline correctly, they should have faced a demon invasion at the academy and also gone out on one more Top Priority mission.
I hope they're using my information well.
Truly.
Though, since there was still a lot of time before I needed to get back to that continent, I put my worries aside and focused on my own life.
After all, that was the reason why I came here in the first place.
I followed Clementine through the city, waiting for her to finally realize she didn't know where she was going.
Though...
We'll be gone for at least a week.
It'll be the longest time I've been away from that Eldritch Monster.
It's been really quiet since it made that offer last time.
But if it remained alone for thousands of years, I bet a few more weeks won't hurt.
Clementine finally turned around, her cheeks red as she stomped back toward me.
"S-So where's this mission, again?"
