Inside an old, dimly lit apartment—

Zhao Xuan frowned as he looked over his attribute panel.

"Even though I earned over a million today with ease, the proficiency of all my techniques—except for the Azure Dragon Fruit—barely increased. This won't do."

He leaned back, lost in thought.

"Still, it's fine. I've already completed every single 'beast removal' mission from the Tongcheng Ability User Guild's Third-Tier list. Starting tomorrow, the only tasks left will be combat-related ones."

"Those missions might take longer to finish, but they'll help me grow faster. And that's what really matters."

Muttering to himself, Zhao Xuan tossed a small pill into his mouth and closed his eyes to meditate.

The pill was a Spirit-Nourishing Pill, a Second-Tier elixir that enhanced meditation speed.

Price: 50,000 yuan per pill.

Flush with cash, Zhao Xuan had bought ten of them in one go—

spending half a million without hesitation.

Spiritual strength, he knew, was just as crucial as physical strength.

The stronger one's spirit, the easier it became to understand and develop their abilities on a deeper level.

And more importantly—

spiritual power determined the awakening of Observation Haki.

According to official data, the minimum spiritual threshold required to awaken Observation Haki was 50 points.

Zhao Xuan's current spirit level was 42.97.

He wasn't far off.

That was why he had decided to invest so heavily in these meditation aids.

Even though 50 points was merely the baseline,

statistics showed that the average spiritual power of those who successfully awakened Observation Haki across Shenzhou was around 500 points.

But Zhao Xuan wasn't the type to be discouraged by numbers.

"There's always a chance," he thought. "What if I get lucky—just like when I awakened Armament Haki early?"

Even if he didn't awaken it at 50 points,

increasing his spiritual power would still help him unlock greater potential in all his abilities.

So, in his mind—

that 500,000 yuan wasn't an expense.

It was an investment.

While Zhao Xuan was deep in meditation, a very different conversation was taking place elsewhere.

Inside the Guildmaster's Office at the Tongcheng Ability User Guild—

Guildmaster Lian Jie was sitting with several other guildmasters from neighboring cities.

"Old Lian," said a burly, thick-browed middle-aged man, leaning back in his chair,

"If I'm not mistaken, that relic site in Tongcheng was discovered nearly six months ago, wasn't it?"

The room went silent.

All eyes turned toward Lian Jie.

His expression darkened immediately.

"Zheng Bin, if you've got something to say, then say it. No need to beat around the bush."

Zheng Bin smiled faintly.

"Alright, I'll be direct."

He clasped his hands together as he spoke,

"According to the joint regulations of the Ability Users' Council and the government,

the rights to develop any newly discovered relic belong solely to the guild in whose jurisdiction it was found—

but only for six months."

"If that guild fails to pass the relic trial and claim the Heart of the Relic within that timeframe,

then the development rights are automatically opened to all neighboring guilds."

Zheng Bin's smile widened.

"And if my information is correct, old Lian—your Tongcheng Guild hasn't even cleared the sixth trial, has it?"

The moment he said that, Lian Jie's face darkened even more.

The other guildmasters smirked knowingly.

They had all been eyeing Tongcheng's relic for months.

After all—

that particular relic was known to produce Spirit-Nourishing Fruit.

Though the fruit was considered low-grade, with a market price of only 100,000 yuan per piece,

the key factor wasn't its price—

it was its yield.

The relic produced fifty fruits every day.

That meant—

five million yuan daily.

Five million might not sound astronomical at first,

but when you realized it was daily revenue, the true scale became staggering.

"Hmph! I knew it," Lian Jie growled, his face twisting with anger.

"You bunch of old vultures didn't come here for a friendly visit—you came to try and steal Tongcheng's relic out from under me!"

Before Zheng Bin or the others could speak, Lian Jie slammed his hand on the desk and shouted,

"Forget it! You can all get the hell out of here!

If you think you can take my relic, you're dreaming!"

"Now, now, old Lian, no need to be so worked up," Zheng Bin said, smiling like a snake.

"We've known each other for over twenty years…"

"That's right, that's right," another guildmaster added with a grin.

"We're just offering to help, you know—since your guild doesn't seem to be making much progress."

"OUT!" Lian Jie roared, face red with fury. "All of you, out! Get lost!"

The men exchanged amused looks as they stood.

"Well then, old Lian," Zheng Bin said as he turned to leave,

"we'll drop by again—in five days."

Lian Jie's fist clenched on the desk.

His eyes burned with silent rage.

Meanwhile, across town, Zhao Xuan continued to meditate—

his spiritual power pulsing faintly higher with every slow, steady breath.

He had no idea that a storm was quietly brewing over Tongcheng's relic—

a storm that would soon drag him right into its center.
