Chapter 21 - Naruto’s First Nature Training! The Wind Within!

Evening descended quietly over Konoha. The streets glowed orange under the fading sunset, and the sound of distant chatter filled the air.

But away from the noise, deep in the woods of Training Ground No. 66, a familiar figure stood alone in the open clearing. Naruto Uzumaki. He took a deep breath, feeling the air flow across his face. His mind was calm, his eyes focused.

The chakra nature test earlier that day had confirmed what he already suspected—he possessed all five elemental affinities. Fire. Wind. Lightning. Earth. Water. But for now, he intended to start with the one he felt most naturally attuned to. The one that had always resonated within him. Wind.

He closed his eyes and stretched out his palm. A faint wisp of chakra gathered there, glowing blue under the dim sky. He focused on the feeling of wind—its freedom, its sharpness, its invisible power. It could caress like a breeze or tear mountains apart as a storm. He had always felt drawn to it. Perhaps it was fate. Or maybe it was simply because, like him, the wind could not be contained.

He recalled how chakra nature training was supposed to work. You took chakra and shaped it—infused it with the essence of an element until it changed form. Most ninjas needed months, even years, to grasp their first nature. But Naruto had something they didn't—the Perfect Chakra Manipulation skill, and a comprehension that defied reason itself.

He smiled faintly. "Let's see how long it takes me. "

He gathered his chakra again, concentrating it in his right palm. This time, he visualized a sharp wind current spinning around his hand—like countless invisible blades. The chakra trembled, unstable for a moment—then clicked.

A faint whoosh echoed through the clearing as the air around his hand shifted. A spiral of wind formed, thin at first, then sharper and faster. Grass bent outward in all directions. Leaves lifted from the ground and circled him like tiny birds.

And then— "You are training chakra nature transformation! " "You have comprehended Basic Wind Nature! "

Naruto's grin widened. "That fast, huh? "

The wind in his palm sliced through the air effortlessly. He adjusted the flow, focusing on sharpness instead of rotation. Instantly, the energy condensed into a thin, blade-like current.

He slashed forward. A gust of wind shot out, cutting a clean line across a tree trunk several meters away. The sound echoed through the forest—a sharp crack! followed by falling bark.

Naruto looked at the mark, a perfectly smooth cut. He couldn't help but laugh quietly. "Now that's what I call progress. "

He kept experimenting, changing chakra intensity, speed, and form. One moment it was a spinning vortex, the next it became a slicing wave.

He could feel every shift, every adjustment, as though his body and the wind were one.

Minutes passed. Then another chime sounded in his mind. "Your understanding deepens! " "You have mastered Intermediate Wind Nature Control! " "You can shape wind chakra into offensive and defensive forms. "

Naruto nodded, satisfied. His training was advancing faster than even he expected.

But he wasn't done. He wanted to test how far he could push it—how far he could sharpen the wind until it became invisible death.

He pulled out a handful of dry leaves from the ground and tossed them into the air. As they fluttered downward, he focused his chakra again—this time creating dozens of fine wind threads around him. The air shimmered faintly.

When the leaves passed through the space before him, they didn't fall to the ground. They split cleanly in half—sliced silently by threads thinner than paper.

Naruto watched the two halves drift apart, then exhaled slowly. "Perfect. "

A soft voice chimed once more: "You have achieved Advanced Wind Nature Mastery! " "You can now integrate wind chakra into taijutsu and weapon attacks. " "Efficiency increased by 500%. "

Naruto flexed his fingers, watching faint blue ripples of air spiral around them. With a small push, he sent a focused gust slicing through a nearby boulder. The rock cracked open cleanly down the center, each half falling away with a dull thud.

He lowered his hand, a faint smile curving his lips. "So this is the power of wind… sharp, silent, and unstoppable. "

He looked at his palm again. If I can merge this with chakra threads… His eyes gleamed. "…then even the ANBU won't be able to block it. "

As the night deepened, Naruto continued practicing alone, refining the shape and edge of his wind chakra until the air around him hummed faintly.

Unbeknownst to him, high above on a nearby rooftop, an ANBU was observing through a scope. The man's gloved hands trembled slightly. He whispered into his communicator, "This is Squad Three… reporting in. Target Naruto Uzumaki has achieved wind nature transformation… in less than three hours. "

The voice on the other end hesitated. "Repeat that. "

The ANBU swallowed. "Confirmed. Three hours. "

A long silence followed. Then a grim reply: "Understood. Continue surveillance. Do not engage. "

The operative nodded and vanished into the night.

The next morning, in the Hokage's office, Sarutobi Hiruzen sat reading the report with narrowed eyes. "Three hours…" he murmured. "That's beyond even the First Hokage's speed of comprehension. "

His expression darkened slightly. The boy's growth was accelerating exponentially—beyond prediction, beyond control. At this rate, even his surveillance network might soon become meaningless.

He sighed softly. "Minato, Kushina… your son may one day surpass us all. "

He placed the report aside, but his eyes glinted with resolve. "And that is precisely why… he must never walk the wrong path. "

Meanwhile, back in the forest, Naruto was sitting cross-legged, eyes closed, wind chakra swirling gently around him like a halo. He smiled faintly to himself. "Wind… the element of freedom. " "It suits me perfectly. "

Then, opening his eyes, he murmured softly, "Next, I'll master Lightning. "

The forest wind answered with a whisper—as if the world itself was listening to the promise of a boy destined to shake the heavens.
