"BOOM!!"
While Spearow relentlessly battered Golbat, the clash on the other side—Pidgeotto vs. Tauros—was no less ferocious.
Tauros opened its jaws and unleashed a roaring Flamethrower. High above, Pidgeotto spread its wings and slashed downward, flinging crescent-shaped wind blades that screamed through the air. One after another, the whirling arcs split the flames apart, carving straight through the fire stream.
The scattered shockwaves gouged grooves into the battlefield below, while the shattered fire burst into brilliant sparks—like fireworks exploding midair—spraying light in every direction.
The dazzling collision of skills sent the crowd into a frenzy, cheers rising and falling in waves.
"Tauros—full power Flamethrower!!"
Seeing Golbat being hammered nonstop by Spearow, Anon's anxiety finally spilled across his face.
"Spearow, keep attacking! Pidgeotto—use Air Slash!"
The instant Anon escalated, Ash answered just as decisively.
Pidgeotto's role was clear—lock Tauros down and create space for Spearow. And now that Tauros was going all out, Ash gave Pidgeotto the signal to stop holding back.
"Moo—!! BOOM!!"
"WHOOSH—SLASH!!"
The exchange exploded in intensity.
Blades of wind tore through the sky. Pillars of flame surged upward. Wind fed fire, fire burned hotter, and the violent collision of moves detonated into blinding flashes that made the entire stadium thrum with adrenaline.
"Ash—! Ash—!!"
"ASH—!!"
"Anon—!!"
The thunderous cheers pushed the atmosphere to a fever pitch.
"Bam-bam-bam-bam—!!"
"Bam-bam-bam-bam—!!"
"Kee-kee!!"
"Pii—!!"
Compared to the ranged bombardment between Pidgeotto and Tauros, the battle between Spearow and Golbat was brutally straightforward.
Spearow dove in again and again—claws raking, beak stabbing. Though Golbat's level was higher, it was trapped in confusion, turning what should've been a balanced exchange into a one-sided beating.
Still, confusion wasn't paralysis or sleep. Golbat retained the ability to act, and during brief moments of clarity, it did lash back with counterattacks.
Yet most of the time, it was Golbat taking the hits.
Spearow, trained as a physical attacker, had both Focus Energy and Peck raised to Perfect proficiency. With Peck's base power over 40, plus Focus Energy's boost to critical hits and vital strikes, damage spikes of ×1.5 and ×2 came again and again.
Golbat's HP bar plummeted at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Tauros was still pinned down by Pidgeotto and couldn't come to the rescue—no matter how desperately Anon shouted. After nearly three full minutes of relentless punishment—
Spearow, taking only light damage in return, finally brought Golbat down.
"Golbat!!"
Anon shouted in desperation as Golbat's wings went slack and it fell straight from the air.
But defeat was defeat. No amount of unwillingness from its Trainer could undo it.
"THUD—!"
Golbat slammed into the ground and lay still, knocked out cold.
"Goo…bat…"
"Spearow—keep up the pressure! Leer plus Growl, nonstop!
Pidgeotto—Agility!"
After eliminating the opponent with aerial control and disruptive moves, Ash didn't slow down—he accelerated.
"Pii—!"
"Kee—!!"
With Ash's orders, both birds moved instantly.
Freed from its holding role, Pidgeotto no longer traded blows head-on with Tauros. A flash of movement—then it vanished from Tauros's attack line, slipping fully into its own rhythm.
The support role flipped into full offense. Empowered by Agility, Pidgeotto looked radiant, electric with speed.
Spearow was no slower to adapt. After a long bout of attacking Golbat, it knew better than to rush Tauros head-on—one misstep against that raging bull would be disastrous.
So Spearow kept its distance, darting back and forth, glaring fiercely while letting out sharp cries—constant harassment, relentless disruption.
"Snort—stomp—MOO!!"
Irritated beyond reason, Tauros puffed steam from its nostrils, hooves scraping furrows into the ground as it bellowed in rage.
"Kee-kee~!"
Spearow didn't take the bait. It stayed light on its wings, circling safely, eyes locked, cries piercing—driving Tauros further into agitation.
And that was the opening.
"WHOOSH—!"
High above, Pidgeotto had been waiting.
Timing the blind spot perfectly, without needing a single extra command from Ash, it unleashed Air Slash.
"WHOOSH—!!"
This time, it wasn't just suppression.
With Perfect-level mastery, the pale-blue crescent tore through the air in a blink—there one moment, on Tauros the next.
"Tauros—dodge!!"
Anon screamed.
"Moo—!"
Tauros sensed danger—but sensing wasn't the same as reacting in time.
The blade slashed diagonally, carving straight into Tauros's side.
"BANG!!"
Tauros was blasted off its feet, smashing into the ground.
"Tauros—Flamethrower, counterattack!!"
Anon shouted in panic.
"Spearow—keep harassing!
Pidgeotto—evade, then Air Cutter!"
Ash's commands snapped out just as fast.
"MOO—!! ROAR—!!"
Still reeling, Tauros lifted its head and fired a thick, viscous column of flame skyward.
But Pidgeotto's reaction was lightning-fast—a burst of speed, and it slipped cleanly past the flames.
The attack missed.
Furious, Tauros tried to rise—forelegs bracing, muscles straining.
But in doing so, it exposed its back.
And Pidgeotto was already there.
