Chapter 303 - [304] : The Chief's Needs

"Of course, Miss Justice."

Silas exchanged a glance with [The Hanged Man] and nodded.

Relying on M and that sea's authority, he could use abilities from the "Spectator" pathway and didn't need items made from "Psychiatrist" characteristics.

He had planned to resell it anyway, and if he could sell it to a reliable person above the gray fog, that would be even better.

"That's wonderful."

Audrey said delightedly.

Actually, she had another option: directly purchasing a Psychiatrist's Beyonder characteristic.

Because she had almost finished digesting her Sequence 8 "Telepathist" potion and needed materials for the next Sequence's potion.

However, she had already made contact with the Psychology Alchemists, so materials for the corresponding pathway weren't a problem.

She just needed to spend a little money.

In comparison, having this Beyonder characteristic made into an item was slightly more tempting.

After all, I don't have my own Beyonder item yet...

She thought happily to herself.

Klein manipulated [The World] puppet, looked around, and spoke in a hoarse, gloomy voice, "Continue helping me search for Human-skinned Shadow characteristics."

He deliberately lingered on Silas for a moment.

Don't look at me. Until I contact Sharron, there's nothing I can do to help you.

Silas thought to himself.

"I'll keep an eye out for it."

[Justice] Audrey said quite confidently.

Now that she had joined the Psychology Alchemists, she had gained a new channel.

"I'll try as well."

[The Magician] Fors said cautiously.

Actually, she had recently made the acquaintance of someone named Dorian Gray, who was a descendant of the Abraham family.

This family controlled the Apprentice pathway and had once been one of the world's top families, but was now on the verge of extinction due to a peculiar curse.

Dorian Gray thought highly of Fors and was trying to become her teacher in the Beyonder field.

If the mentor-student relationship was established, Miss Salted Fish would have backing support in the future and could become a "channel" for providing help.

"I can try as well."

[The Sun] Derrick also answered, "Um, I've been free from surveillance for some time now, and Elder Lovia hasn't given me any trouble."

That's probably because she's also being vigilant of you...

Silas thought to himself.

After a brief silence, [The Hanged Man] Alger spoke up, "Help me search for the 'Wind-blessed' potion formula."

"I have it."

Silas immediately replied, "I have both the potion and the Beyonder characteristic."

One of Mr. A's grazed sheep was a Wind-blessed. As for the potion formula, he only needed to channel the sheep's soul slightly to learn it.

Above the gray fog, everyone was somewhat surprised.

Another Sequence 6 Beyonder characteristic?

This wasn't among the characteristics he'd mentioned wanting to sell before!

As expected of a Shepherd, he actually controlled so many resources!

"..."

[The Hanged Man] Alger fell silent briefly, then asked in a strange tone, "How much will I need to spend to get all of this?"

He hadn't expected things to come so easily.

He'd thought it would take considerable effort.

While this was good news, the bad news was that the cash he'd prepared probably wasn't enough.

"A Sequence 6 potion formula has a market price below 2000 pounds.

The Beyonder characteristic contains two main ingredients at 1500 pounds each, adding up to 3000 pounds..."

Silas calculated as he spoke, "All together, it should be less than 5000 pounds.

Given that we're both under Mr. Fool's gaze, I can give you a discount. Let's make it 4500 pounds total."

"...I understand, Mr. Temperance. Thank you for your generosity."

Alger nodded, feeling both excited and anxious.

[Temperance] had indeed given him a significant discount, saving him several hundred pounds, but he still had a shortfall of at least 1000 pounds.

The feeling of being able to obtain something he desired so badly, yet being forced to wait due to limitations of pounds, was truly unbearable.

I need to find a way to make money...

He thought to himself, wishing he could leave the gray fog right now and return to the real world to make arrangements.

After this, no one else at the Tarot Club raised any trading requests, and everyone naturally entered the third part, the free exchange segment.

"May I have a word?"

Silas looked up at the tall figure beside him.

"...Alright."

[The Sun] answered with a cautious attitude that didn't match his physique.

"The 'Black Knight' potion formula now belongs to your chief, correct?"

"Strictly speaking, it belongs to the Silver City's public warehouse..."

"Those details don't matter. In the end, your chief is the one who makes the decisions anyway."

Silas interrupted bluntly, "I heard you mention Silver City's contribution system before... Can I assume that as long as what's contributed is valuable enough, it can be exchanged for certain things in the warehouse?"

"Um... more or less?"

[The Sun] thought for a moment and answered.

At this point in their conversation, everyone above the gray fog understood [Temperance's] meaning and guessed what he would ask next.

"So what do you think it would take to move your chief and exchange for the 'Black Knight' potion formula?"

Sure enough, Silas's words didn't exceed their expectations.

"This..."

[The Sun] Derrick was taken aback.

Move the chief?

The appearance of Silver City's Chief Colin Iliad involuntarily surfaced in his mind.

That stern old man was over a hundred years old, with graying hair and a tall stature.

He was a Sequence 4 demigod of the Warrior pathway, a Demon Hunter.

What would the chief need?

Derrick couldn't imagine the personal thoughts of that unsmiling chief.

He always seemed to worry himself sick for Silver City's sake, silently shouldering everything.

"Sorry, I don't know either."

He answered honestly.

"Then just go ask him directly."

Silas said, "Consider it doing me a favor."

"Ask the chief directly?"

Derrick was somewhat dumbfounded, almost unable to believe what Silas had said.

"Yes."

Silas said matter-of-factly, "Your chief already knows there's something special about you anyway, and he'll maintain a certain understanding with you.

Just treat this as a normal transaction. Act as my intermediary and go ask about the price... Of course, I'll pay you for this."

To the Silver City chief, Derrick represented another possible hope for escape. The chief should treat what he said seriously.

"...Please allow me to consider it."

Derrick hesitated for a while before speaking.

"Give me an answer soon."

Silas said.

Their communication ended there.

Mr. Temperance is so proactive. You can tell he's extremely eager to become a demigod...

Audrey thought to herself.

Then, she looked at Silas and spoke, "I heard that Mr. A of the Aurora Order is still holding gatherings as always."

She was testing Silas, trying to confirm whether it was [Temperance] she had seen at that time.
