Chapter 90 - Divine Fairy

BOOOOM!!!!

A huge crater exploded in the middle of the open field, shockwaves rippling through the air and forcing everyone to leap backward, scrambling for purchase on the high branches of the obsidian trees.

"My God! Is this Miss Mirabella's strength?!" Daniel gasped, clutching the bark, his eyes wide as he stared at the column of smoke rising into the blood-red sky. He had seen elites fight before, but this was different—it was cataclysmic.

"You are fast!" Mirabella stood at the epicenter of the crater, her blue hair whipping around her face in the violent updraft. She looked up at the Crystal Emperor, who floated above her, staring down with a deep frown etched into his translucent features.

'I thought I was a monster?!! But this child?' The Emperor thought, genuinely rattled.

BOOOOM!!!

Red blades of pure spirit energy shot out from the smoke, aimed directly at his core. He twisted in the air, barely dodging the lethal arcs. He didn't dare take the attack head-on.

'If she hit me, even if it's just once, all my defense will be wiped out, the next attack, I will surely die...' He clenched his fist, and a pulsating red crystal materialized on his palm.

"I will have to go all out... She must not be underestimated." He looked up at the sky, lamenting his fate. "I can't believe the humans have born such a monster... She is even more fearsome than that old man who sealed me."

He lowered his gaze to the crater, locking eyes with Mirabella's piercing blue gaze, and crushed the red crystal.

"She isn't even taking this fight seriously." He scoffed.

His body began to glow with blinding intensity. The next moment, his translucent form shifted, turning into a solid, gleaming silver. His aura exploded outwards, and his stats doubled instantly.

"What the???"

Hitachi and the rest, watching from a safe distance, were stunned. Even Jessica, recovering on the sidelines, was dumbfounded by the sheer pressure radiating from the boss.

"Such strong Spirit energy... This is off the chart." Elizabeth muttered, her grip tightening on her sword. She remained still, respecting her lady's order, but every instinct screamed at her to intervene. She knew Mirabella wasn't careless, and she would surely ask for backup if needed—but this was pushing the limit.

"It's like his level doubled... He's even more terrifying than the Demon King himself." Zoginoi said, wiping the sweat off his face. His eyeglasses were gone, revealing his true eyes—red sclera with black pupils and irises that spun wildly, trying to analyze the fight.

Dum-Dum.

Mirabella froze, hearing the sound of a heartbeat in the midst of the chaos. She moved her gaze around, confused, then closed her eyes to focus.

"This?"

Her consciousness vanished from the battlefield, appearing in her personal inventory space—a dark void filled with her accumulated wealth. There, amidst weapons, monster cards, and skill scrolls, something caught her attention.

"Is that the cocoon gotten from the Ghost Orchid?" She muttered, watching the green cocoon pulse with a soft white light from within, revealing the faint outline of a humanoid figure curled in fetal position.

"Is that?"

CLICK!

She blinked as the system screen materialized before her, finally unlocking the hidden data of the item.

{Information}

{Name: Divine Fairy.}

{Agility: 10,000,000.}

{Intellect: 100%}

{Host can absorb the cocoon and increase level to 200, and can randomly gain two of its traits, and also the title and weakness.}

{Or....}

{Host can nurture the Cocoon till it hatch and takes Host as its master.}

Mirabella blinked. Two paths lay before her. The first looked promising—instant power—but she would inherit a fatal flaw. At the moment, she had no weakness anyone could exploit.

'If I take this, the system's soul protection against soul attack will be reduced...'

{Correct, I can help Host block all soul attacks, but if an opponent uses a darkness soul attack, I won't be able to block it.} The System confirmed her fears.

"This is a disadvantage, and also a liability... And I hate these two things in my life." She thought, dismissing the first option. She stared at the second.

"The second isn't bad... Whatever this thing is, its stats are even stronger than a Lv500 warrior. But..." She held her jaw, thinking. "How can I nurture this?"

{There are some special levels of strength that are qualified to be fed to the Divine Fairy.}

{Note: I have no idea where you will see these levels of strength, but the current enemy has it.}

"The Crystal Emperor?"

{Correct. Take away its heart and feed it to the cocoon. And once it matures, it will hatch.}

"You?!" Mirabella sighed in annoyance.

"World Bosses don't have monster cards like the other monsters, and the easiest way to kill a World Boss is to target the heart or head. Now, I have to mind the heart because I need it to nurture the Cocoon."

It complicated things. She couldn't just obliterate him; she had to perform surgery.

"So my only option is the head... I should get back to the battle." She closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, she was back in the crater.

'Oh, so the time here didn't move, even for a second... That is good news.' She thought.

She plunged both her swords into the ground, then slammed her palms together.

"Do you think you're the only one with a trump card? Too bad you met me today." She smirked, her eyes glowing with ancient power.

"Chess Art! Sun Chessboard!!!"

BOOOOM!!!

An invisible, colossal Chessboard expanded over the entire field, marking everything on it with grid lines. It encompassed Mirabella, the Emperor, and the ruined landscape.

"Impossible!!" The Crystal Emperor yelled in shock. Even with his enhanced strength, he felt a primal fear seeing the Chessboard manifest.

"Only you and I can see the Chessboard." Mirabella pulled her swords from the earth. "No matter what you throw at me, or how you move, everything is as clear as day! Before this skill... Even 100 Lv500 World Bosses will fall at my feet!! You are dead." She said with a smirk.
