ALL GONE

It was a cool evening. The cool breeze could be felt by all. Children were out playing on the field, while the teenagers were with one another, all enjoying the soft wind that was blowing. Among these teenagers was a young girl who looked to have just entered teenage hood, and that was because she had. She was the princess of the people; the elves. She was Princess Ariel.

Princess Ariel sat on the grass playing with her nails. She was a shy one and would not make friends so easily. But she was nice and because of that, she had a few friends and one of them had come to join her.

"Ariel look, I painted my nails. How do they look?" the girl named Zhilin said enthusiastically.

"Oh, it certainly looks nice. Mother says I shouldn't paint mine because I had an injury, and it could get infected." she replied sadly with a hint of tears in her eyes.

"Oh, I'm so sorry you'd be the odd one. But hey, you're the princess, your dress would definitely stand out." she tried to cheer her best friend up. But that was the truth. Ariel was going to stand out at the party first as a beauty, and then as a princess.

Princess Ariel was a young fair beautiful teenager. Her face was round with puffy cheeks and slightly pink lips that were small and fitted her just perfectly. She had slanting blue eyes and a pointed nose. Her long eye lashes and we'll arranged eye brows looked as though they were fixed, but tThat was how they were. She had brown hair that went down her waist and stopped just above her backside. She had curves as though she were a full grown woman whereas she only just turned fourteen. Because of this, she was know as a beauty and every young man were willing to do anything just to have her bedside them on their beds. But the only downside to this was she was very shy and hardly spike to people. Only Zhilin and a few others were able to tolerate her shy behaviour and, honestly, Ariel was grateful for that.

"Yeah, I will. But I won't have my nails painted and it's bad." she replied.

"Anyways, I'd love to try my gown. Do you want to see it?"

"Sure." Princess Ariel replied and they both went to Zhilin's room.

Now, the party they were preparing so hard for was their first party ever. Throughout history, in the elves tradition, no child was allowed out for parties and are kept busy learning things about their races, going to school and passing tests. Only when an left child had reached fourteen years are they allowed for their first ever teenage festival. After that, they go out to hunt for beasts and go for higher trainings to either become hunters or soldiers.

As the two best friends were about to enter inside, Ariel's mother, the Queen, came out of the Royal Castle. The teenagers and the children all went down on one knee and bowed their heads in respect until she told them to stand. This was the traditional way of greeting their elf Royals, including Princess Ariel except, Zhilin who could talk to her without the formal greetings.

"Ariel, you're outside for too long!" she shouted to her hearing.

"Yes mother." she replied and turned to Zhilin with a squeezed face.

"I'm sorry I couldn't see your dress but I trust is going to be gorgeous." she smiled and Zhilin returned the smile too.

"Thank you so much Ariel. Would I see you tomorrow?" she said and Ariel nodded. The two of them hugged and Ariel left for the Castle.

While she was still going though, in the middle of the road, distant screams were heard and Ariel turned back. The people around were confused and even her mother, Queen Aethera, came out.

"What is happening, Ariel?" she asked.

"I don't..." she was still speaking when one of the many houses exploded. People screamed and ran for their lives. Meanwhile, up in the sky, Ariel could see aircrafts of different types firing out what looked like bombs. Seeing this, Queen Aethera grabbed Ariel and they both ram to the Castle. Zhilin was also coming out from her house and ran to meet up with them crying and panting.

"Queen Aethera, it's my parents. There is an alien in my house and they killed my parents. Please help me!" she cried.

"Your parents?!" Queen Aethera asked.

"Come with us." Ariel said and grabbed Zhilin's hand and was about to drag her but someone had done that already.

"Help! Ariel!" she cried in frustration as the alien took out a small knife and slit her throat.

"NOOOOO!!!" Ariel cried and was about to run to Zhilin but her mother dragged her.

"Ariel, you have to run. Run now because if you don't, you will die too."

"No mother, I am not leaving you!" Ariel cried helplessly but Queen Aethera held her face with her two palms and looked at her with teary eyed.

"You have to run, you have to seek revenge and be the one who slits their throats next. If I should come with you, I would slow you down and they will eventually kill us."

Ariel still shook her head and held her mother's hands. it was hard but she knew she had to fulfill her mother's wish. She had to run.

"I love you, mother."

"I love you too, Ariel. You are the light that needs to be shone to the world. Do not let anyone dim it for you. Now go!" she said and forcefully let go of Ariel and pushed her so she could run. Ariel picked up courage and ran into the woods. she looked back, but then her mother was also held by another alien who had a gun pointed to her head. She looked at her mother's smiling face and the sound of the gun had pierced through her ears. she watched her mother fall to the ground as tears flowed down her cheeks. Mustering up enough courage, she ran deeper into the woods.

'No. Mother, Zhilin, who are those people? Why have aliens come to attack our home? What did we do? Now I'm alone, I've lost everything. All gone! Why?!' she cried as these thoughts entered her head. She knew that she had to keep running but her strength was failing her. The more she thought of what happened, the more tired she became and soon, all strength had left her body and she fell to the ground.

'I'm just a girl, just a princess. I don't know how to fight or defend myself. And one day, I was going to be Queen of the elves. But now, everything....is.... gone...." These were her last thoughts before her vision finally went blank.
