That day Katrina was eating her burger as she looked outside she didn't think to much about the world in truth she didn't find anything unusual. As she sat down her phone ring and Katrina answered her phone.
I heard that the director has found a new family for you?"
Katrina put the other person on speaker and continued to pack her stuff. When she heard this question, she answered plainly.
"Yeah."
The voice paused for a short while before speaking up again, sounding a little hesitant.
"The Fuji Family was not on our list when we were looking for a family for you. We know very little about them, and all we ever understood is that this family is very complicated. We hope that you can come back for now, and then we will find another family for you. What about you? What do you think?"
Katrina who drink her soda took a long breath before she touched her chin before she yawned.
"It's fine," Katrina said as she yawned again.
"Boss, you will be in Hong Kong can you speak fluent mandarin?" The other male voice said.
"I can speak more then fifty languages in fluent and write in those languages," Katrina said. The person on the other side was not the director but a person who worked for her.
The voice on the other end of the line chuckled, a rich sound that seemed to carry genuine admiration.
"Fifty languages, you say? My apologies for underestimating you, Boss. Your memory is as sharp as ever."
Katrina took another bite of her burger, chewing thoughtfully before swallowing.
"It's not about memory. It's about pattern recognition and language acquisition. Humans are simple creatures in that regard."
She leaned back against the bus seat, stretching her long legs out into the aisle. The other passengers glanced at her, but she paid them no mind.
"So tell me about this Fuji Family," she said, her golden eyes glinting with curiosity rather than concern.
Katrina pressed her lips into a fine line and did not say anything.
She used to be a person who kept everything to herself. However, after spending some time with her, the person on the other side of the line could somewhat figure out if she was happy or angry whenever she stayed silent.
After about five seconds of silence, the other person gave in and let out a sigh.
"If you don't feel comfortable with the Fuji Family, don't force yourself. Come back."
"No need," Katrina said as she yawned and then looked at the blue sky.
After Katrina hanged up she went to the airport. The way Katrina dressed she looked poor and someone who has no money.
Katrina walked inside and took her private plane. Katrina sat down and she crossed her legs as she opened her laptop and started to do work.
The private jet took off smoothly, ascending above the clouds as Katrina settled into her seat. Her laptop screen glowed with lines of code and complex documents in multiple languages—Chinese, Japanese, English, French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic... each window open with flawless proficiency.
A stewardess in a crisp uniform approached quietly.
"Ms. Katrina, would you like anything to drink? We have champagne, wine, or perhaps some green tea?"
Katrina didn't look up from her screen.
"Just water."
The stewardess nodded respectfully and returned with a glass of sparkling water on a silver tray. As she set it down on the table beside Katrina's laptop, she glanced at the open documents with curiosity.
"You speak so many languages fluently?" she asked hesitantly.
Katrina finally looked up from her laptop, her golden eyes meeting the stewardess's gaze with an unreadable expression. A small smile touched the corner of her lips.
"Fluently enough to know that your curiosity is getting the better of you," she said, her voice smooth and even.
She leaned back in her plush leather seat, crossing one leg over the other as she studied the young woman before her. The stewardess's uniform was impeccably pressed, but there was something in her posture that suggested more than just professional interest.
"I can also tell you're wondering why I'm traveling first class despite looking like I can't afford it," Katrina continued, taking a sip of water.
"The answer is simple money isn't an issue."
Katrina's golden eyes fluttered open as the announcer's voice echoed through the bustling airport terminal, calling for boarding on her flight to Hong Kong. She stretched languidly, her arms arching above her head as she yawned widely, not bothering to cover her mouth. The crowd around her parted slightly, some casting curious glances at the young woman who seemed completely unbothered by the chaos of travel.
As she stood up and gathered her carryon bag, a man in a crisp black suit approached her cautiously. His dark eyes studied her face intently before he spoke in perfect English with a slight Chinese accent.
"Miss Katrina? I'm Mr. Chen from Fuji Enterprises. We sent someone to meet you at the gate."
Katrina stepped forward and saw a butler Katrina was polite and kind she nodded her head as she sweetly smiled.
Back at the Fuji Manor Estate
A elegant woman with beautiful eyes and light brown hair walked back and fourth and grabbed her husband hand.
The Fuji Family lived in a highend residence. They were some of the most influential figures in Hong Kong City, so the Fuji Mansion was impressively large. There were a few ancient woody trees planted around the periphery, and the mansion in the center followed the classical architectural design of ancient times. As a result, it was pleasing to the eye.
"What took your dad so long?" a woman in a skyblue tailormade qipao asked the young man standing next to her. She was pacing back and forth nervously in front of the door as she gazed longingly at the gate. The other young man was her eighth son Xing who crossed his arms.
"Mom calm down what do you think would happen she will be kidnapped?" Xing said which freaked out the beautiful woman named Song Moo. Her husband Zav Fuji glared at his troublemaker son.
The sprawling metropolis unfolded beneath her like a glittering tapestry of light and shadow. Towering skyscrapers pierced the clouds, their sleek facades reflecting the vibrant hues of the neon signs that pulsed with life. The harbor shimmered, crisscrossed by ferries and bustling with activity. It was a city of contrasts – ancient temples nestled amongst modern marvels, traditional markets teeming alongside luxury boutiques.
A wave of unfamiliar emotions washed over Katrina as she gazed at the cityscape. A sense of anticipation mingled with a deepseated unease. This was it – the place where her past lay waiting to be unearthed.
The air in Hong Kong was thick with humidity and the scent of exotic spices, a stark contrast to the crisp air of England. As she stepped out of the terminal, she was immediately met with a flurry of activity – chauffeurs jostling for position, reporters shouting questions, and security personnel discreetly scanning the crowd.
The Fuji Manor Estate was breathtakingly beautiful and extraordinarily large. Imposing gates of intricately carved jade guarded the entrance, leading to a long, winding driveway lined with manicured gardens and ancient, gnarled trees. The manor itself was a sprawling complex of traditional Chinese architecture blended with modern design—a testament to the Fuji family's wealth and influence.
Of course, Katrina was gentle yet indifferent, not showing any expression. In truth, she wasn't shocked at all. She herself had stayed in the royal family palace, so this was… well, nothing. It was opulent, certainly, but it lacked the timeless elegance and subtle power that permeated the British royal residences.
