Chapter 147: Searching for the Immortal Symbol

Gion took a deep breath, adjusting her breathing rhythm.

"One unkillable loach was headache enough; now comes a monster that controls the earth."

"Uncle! What do we do now?"

Jackie retreated step by step, shielding Jade, his forehead covered in cold sweat.

Uncle, holding dried pufferfish and dried lizards, was frantically rummaging through his pile of jars and bottles.

"Aiya! Do not rush Uncle! Uncle is thinking of a way!"

Uncle suddenly raised his head and slapped Captain Black on his bald head.

Smack!

"What are you still standing there for!"

Black clutched his head, looking aggrieved: "What can I do? My guns are useless against them!"

"Go find the Immortal Symbol! Idiot!"

Uncle hopped and shouted.

"Every demon has a corresponding Immortal Symbol! Dai Gui was sealed by Lan Caihe!"

"Go find flowers! Some kind of flower that symbolizes vitality! Or Lan Caihe's flower basket!"

"Only that can send this big lug back to the Netherworld!"

"Flowers? On this barren mountaintop?"

Black looked at the flattened ground around them; apart from rocks, there was only dirt.

"Then go find them down the mountain! Go quickly!"

Uncle kicked Black in the butt.

Black gritted his teeth, glanced at the two demons in the distance, turned, and ran toward the forced-landed fighter jet.

"You have to hold on, Jackie!"

Shendu glanced at the fleeing Black but did not stop him.

In his eyes, as long as there was no magic, human weapons were not even fit to scratch an itch.

"Dai Gui, that woman has the boost of Good Chi."

Shendu extended a sharp claw, pointing at Gion.

"Deal with her first."

"Leave it to me!"

Dai Gui roared excitedly.

His legs bent slightly, and the ground exploded with a boom.

That massive body burst with speed completely disproportionate to its size, like a cannonball fired from a chamber, carrying suffocating wind pressure as it lunged straight at Gion.

"Little bug! Turn into meat paste!"

A massive rock fist descended from the sky, shadow instantly shrouding Gion's entire body.

Gion's pupils constricted sharply.

So fast!

How can someone of that size have this kind of speed?

"Shave (Soru)!"

Gion's figure vanished from where she stood.

BOOM—!!!

Dai Gui's fist hit empty air.

The entire Victoria Peak seemed to experience a magnitude ten earthquake.

The originally flat rock ground was forcefully smashed by this fist into a massive crater dozens of meters in diameter. Crushed rocks flew in all directions like shrapnel.

Gion appeared in mid-air, looking at the devastation below, the corner of her eye twitching wildly.

If that fist had connected solid, even someone with Vice Admiral Garp's physique would be vomiting blood.

"It is not over yet!"

Dai Gui lifted his head from the crater and let out a sinister laugh.

His hands suddenly plunged into the ground.

"Earth Control!"

Rumble!

The air beneath Gion's feet suddenly became incredibly heavy, as if invisible giant hands were pulling at her.

At the same time, two massive rock spikes burst from the ground directly below her, stabbing toward her landing spot.

"Moonwalk (Geppo)!"

Gion stepped repeatedly in the air, forcibly raising her altitude.

But Dai Gui's attacks were relentless.

He casually grabbed a boulder the size of a truck and threw it like a baseball, whistling toward Gion in the air.

"One Sword Style: Waterfall Severing!"

Gion forcibly twisted her waist in mid-air, Konpira drawing a pitch-black sword gleam.

Shing!

The boulder was sliced neatly in half, flying past her body.

But before she could catch her breath, a scorching pillar of fire bombarded her from the side.

It was Shendu!

While supporting Dai Gui, he was also closing in on Uncle's position.

"Armament Haki: Hardening!"

Gion could only cover her entire body with Haki, crossing her arms in front of her to defend.

BOOM!

The Dragon Blast hit her head-on.

The immense impact blasted her away like a rubber ball, smashing her heavily into the mountainside.

Rocks collapsed, burying her.

"Big Sister Gion!"

Jade screamed, wanting to rush over, but Jackie held her back tightly.

"Don't go over there! That's a fight between gods!"

Jackie was anxious, sweat covering his head.

"Uncle! Are you done yet? That military officer isn't going to last!"

"Done, done! Stop rushing me!"

Uncle held a grinding bowl containing a green liquid, a desperate expression on his face.

"Jackie! Hold out your hands!"

"Huh?"

Jackie instinctively held out both hands.

Without a word, Uncle grabbed a handful of the green paste and smeared it directly onto Jackie's palms.

The paste emitted a pungent smell of garlic and lizards.

"What is this? It's disgusting!"

Jackie grimaced.

"This is the Chi-sucking spell!"

Uncle looked serious, speaking fast.

"That demon named Shendu, the source of his power is the twelve Talismans inside his body!"

"As long as you take the Talismans out, he will be resealed!"

"This potion allows you to pull the Talismans out of his body with your bare hands!"

Jackie looked at his hands covered in the green, foul-smelling paste, his facial features scrunching together.

"Uncle, are you sure this thing works? That is a demon, the kind that breathes fire!"

"Cut the chatter! This was concocted by Uncle using three mace of gecko tail, two mace of dried pufferfish powder, and... and Uncle's treasured one-hundred-year-old garlic!"

Uncle hopped and pushed Jackie outward.

In the distance, Dai Gui's massive rock fist was raised high, about to smash down onto the ruins where Gion was buried.

The terrifying pressure made the ground groan even from dozens of meters away.

"Bad day, bad day, bad day!"

Jackie gave a strange yell and braced himself, charging out.

There were no complex tactics, no earth-shattering aura.

It was just an archaeologist in a blue T-shirt, waving two green hands, stumbling and running wildly across the rubble-strewn battlefield.

"Hey! Big guy! Look over here!"

Jackie conveniently picked up a rock and threw it with all his might at the back of Shendu's head.

Smack.

The rock hit Shendu's scales without even leaving a white mark and bounced right off.

But that was enough.

Shendu's scarlet slit pupils slowly turned, his gaze shifting from the ruins to this human who didn't know death.

"You again."

Shendu's voice was low and hoarse, carrying unconcealed contempt.

"That old man's lackey."

"My name is not lackey, my name is Jackie Chan! Archaeologist!"

Jackie shouted as he ran, using the terrain to jump left and right, trying to close the distance.

"Reckless fool."

Shendu couldn't even be bothered to use the power of the Talismans. That thick tail swept out like a steel whip, carrying the sound of whistling wind.

The speed was astonishing.

"Whoa!"

Jackie performed a sliding tackle, his body gliding close to the ground, narrowly avoiding this sweeping blow.

The powerful wind above his head made his scalp tingle.

But before he could get up, Shendu's sharp claw descended from above.

Jackie felt a stinging pain on his scalp; it was no illusion, the wind pressure from Shendu's fingertips had actually scraped off a few hairs.

"Whoa!"

He rolled wretchedly on the ground, a movement devoid of any grace, like a stumbling drunkard, yet in the nick of time, he managed to avoid the dragon claw that was powerful enough to crush steel.

BOOM!

The dragon claw embedded itself deeply into the rock ground, sending crushed rocks flying. Several sharp-edged stone shards flew past Jackie's cheek, leaving bloody scratches.

"Stop running! Little bug!"

Shendu roared low. With a flip of his wrist, the massive dragon claw swept horizontally, as if to squash this flea directly against the wall.

Jackie had just climbed up from the ground. Seeing that avoidance was inevitable, his body instinctively leaned back into a standard iron-bridge pose.

Whoosh—!

Rough dragon scales brushed past the tip of his nose, the foul-smelling heat wave nearly suffocating him.

"Dragon Blast!"

A scorching pillar of fire erupted, instantly engulfing the area where Jackie was.

"Uncle Jackie!" Jade screamed in terror.

The flames dissipated; the rock was burnt red-hot, the surface even taking on a glass-like texture.

But upon this scorched earth, the figure in blue was nowhere to be seen.

Shendu narrowed his eyes, his pupils constricting slightly.

Where is the person?

"Hey! Big guy! I'm up here!"
