Chapter 41: Kuzan Goes In, Kuzan Goes Down

Yonko?

No.

They weren't in the same dimension at all.

It was a feeling of powerlessness: the kind one felt when facing a "god"!

Just as Kuzan was on full alert, considering his strategy, the white-haired man... slowly opened his eyes.

They were a pair of faint purple, strangely rippled Rinnegan.

His gaze fell calmly on Kuzan.

There was no emotion in those eyes. No curiosity, no surprise, and certainly no fighting spirit.

Only the indifference of a god looking down on an ant.

"Another lost ant."

He spoke. His voice wasn't high, but it echoed clearly in the dead space, carrying an unquestionable, divine majesty.

Ant?

Kuzan's eyebrow twitched. For the first time, a flicker of offense appeared on his perpetually lazy face.

He was a Marine Admiral.

The world's highest power!

"Ara ra..."

He slowly raised one hand, and a horrifying chill swept out like a tsunami.

"Looks like an unfriendly guy."

"Ice Age!"

Krak! Kakakaka!

The absolute zero, cold enough to freeze the entire sea, spread out wildly from Kuzan in all directions!

The ground, the air, everything was instantly frozen by this power.

However, the white-haired man, Six Paths Madara Uchiha, just watched quietly as he levitated.

The chill dissipated three feet in front of him, unable to advance an inch.

His robes didn't even stir.

"Hm?"

The laziness on Kuzan's face vanished completely.

Just then, the hairs on his body stood on end. His Observation Haki was screaming a warning!

An invisible, fatal attack, from a completely unpredictable angle, was blasting toward his temple!

Without a hint of hesitation, Kuzan snapped his head back.

Whoosh!

The invisible force grazed his nose, and the wind it stirred was strong enough to cut a shallow gash on his face.

"What was that?!"

Kuzan's heart shook.

He couldn't "see" the enemy at all!

"To be able to dodge Limbo: Border Jail, your perception is interesting."

Madara's indifferent voice rang out again, his tone one of lofty judgment.

"Limbo... Border Jail?"

Kuzan didn't understand the words, but that didn't stop him from raising the man before him to the most dangerous level he had ever encountered.

"Ice Block: Pheasant Beak!"

Kuzan held nothing back. A giant ice bird shrieked and soared, bringing with it a storm of ice shards as it slammed into Madara!

Facing this attack, which was strong enough to destroy several warships, Madara merely lifted his eyelids.

He didn't even raise his hand.

"Sage Art: Storm Release Light Fang."

A purple beam, so thin it was almost invisible, shot from his mouth.

Psh!

The beam, at a speed that surpassed the limits of Kuzan's dynamic vision, instantly pierced the Pheasant Beak's head!

BOOM!!

The massive ice bird exploded in mid-air, shattering into a cloud of ice crystals.

But the purple beam, after destroying the bird, didn't slow at all. It shot straight for Kuzan's chest.

Too fast!

There's no time to dodge!

Puchi!

Kuzan's body jolted. He looked down.

A hole had been punched clean through his chest.

There was no blood at the wound, only crumbling ice.

"Ara ra... a dangerous ability."

Kuzan's body dissolved into ice particles, reforming a short distance away, the hole gone.

He touched his chest, forcing a lazy smile onto his face.

But his heart was pounding wildly.

My elementalization... I almost didn't react in time!

"I see. Not flesh and blood."

Madara's Rinnegan shifted slightly, as if he had seen through the essence of Kuzan's ability.

"A little interesting."

"But, it ends here."

As his voice fell.

The nine jet-black orbs behind him moved.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Three Truth-Seeking Orbs turned into three streaks of black lightning, sealing all of Kuzan's escape routes from three different directions!

Kuzan's expression changed dramatically!

He could feel that those three black orbs contained a terrifying power that could erase anything!

"Ice Wall!"

He slammed his hands on the ground. Dozens of thick ice walls erupted, trying to block them.

However, it was useless!

The solid ice, strong enough to block cannonballs, simply dissolved and was annihilated the instant it touched the Truth-Seeking Orbs, like snow in the hot sun!

Truth-Seeking Orbs... the nemesis of all things!

Kuzan's pupils shrank to their limit!

His ability... was countered!

And just as he was struggling to deal with the pursuing Truth-Seeking Orbs, Madara's pale purple Rinnegan met his.

Voom!

Kuzan's mind went blank!

The world before him began to twist and spin.

He saw Ohara. He saw the burning Tree of Knowledge. He saw the giant Saul's final shout to him.

He saw Sengoku's furious questioning, saw the terrified eyes of the public.

Countless illusions flooded his mind like a tide, tearing at his will.

Genjutsu!

"Crap!"

Kuzan let out a desperate cry in his mind.

The instant his mind faltered, his body froze for a fraction of a second.

And in that fraction of a second.

A jet-black Truth-Seeking Orb was right in front of him.

A chill, originating from the depths of his soul, completely froze his prideful composure.

That wasn't ice.

It was death.

It was true, absolute death: the kind where one is completely erased, not even dust remaining!

"Quit!"

"Get me out!!"

Kuzan used all his strength to let out the most frantic roar in his mind!

Foosha Village.

Pop!

A flash of white light in front of Blake's stall.

A tall figure stumbled out, pitched forward, and fell to one knee.

"Hah... hah... hah..."

Kuzan, head down, his shoulders heaving, gasped for air. His forehead was covered in cold sweat.

His heart, which was made of ice, was now pounding against his ribs as if it would burst from his throat.

He stared at the white-haired youth, who was still casually eating chips in his lounge chair. His lips trembled, but he couldn't say a word.

Blake, chewing his chips, looked at the kneeling, wretched Marine Admiral, and finally spoke.

His tone was light, with a perfectly measured hint of surprise.

"Yo."

"You're back."

He tilted his head, his clear eyes sizing Kuzan up and down. A playful smile spread across his face.

"Heh."

"You're a bit more capable than I thought."

"Not bad, not bad."

"You managed to last three minutes against a Six Paths-level boss. You can go brag about that."

Blake looked at the Admiral's "my-entire-worldview-has-been-shattered" expression, and his smile became even more wicked.

"How was it, Admiral?"

"Want to try again?"

"Seeing as you tried so hard, I'll give you a 20% discount next time."
