Chapter 4 - First Journey

The village slept under a silver blanket of moonlight, unaware of Kael's quiet departure. Slipping past the familiar cottages, he clutched the hidden map tightly, its fragile parchment whispering promises of adventure. Every step beyond the fields felt like stepping into another world one filled with both wonder and danger.

The forest loomed ahead, dark and alive. Branches reached like skeletal fingers, leaves rustling secrets in the wind. Kael's heart pounded, but curiosity overpowered fear. Shadows flickered between the trees, hinting at unseen eyes watching his every move.

Hours passed as he followed a narrow, winding path, guided by the map and an instinct he couldn't explain. Strange markings on rocks and trees seemed to confirm he was on the right track. Occasionally, he glimpsed glimmers of movement small creatures darting between roots, or perhaps something more intelligent, observing silently.

By dawn, Kael reached a clearing atop a hill. From here, he could see the village far below, a peaceful world now behind him. Ahead stretched uncharted lands, mountains rising like jagged teeth against the horizon. He tightened his grip on the map, taking a deep breath.

This was only the beginning. Every step forward was a step into the unknown, and Kael felt a thrill unlike anything he had ever known. Adventure was no longer a story it was his reality.
