The morning editions of the Daily Prophet and Wizard Weekly spread like wildfire. Headlines screamed:
"Gringotts Looted: Death Eaters Strike, Goblins Killed!"
Panic spread across the wizarding community. Wealthy families, middle-class witches and wizards, and even casual vault holders flocked to Gringotts in droves, demanding answers.
The Ministry of Magic, despite Fudge's tarnished reputation, sent representatives. Cornelius Fudge himself appeared alongside Amelia Bones and other high-ranking officials. They pressed Gringotts for explanations, their voices echoing through the grand halls of the bank.
The Head of Gringotts in England, sweating under the scrutiny, immediately called a meeting with the Chairman of Gringotts. After two hours of negotiations, the decision was made: every vault holder would be reimbursed for their losses.
Among those affected were:
Valvas vault owners,
Veylorn vault owners,
Other noble and wealthy wizarding families.
It was calculated that over one billion galleons needed to be returned.
Two tense weeks passed, with goblins busy tallying funds, processing reimbursements, and ensuring every vault reflected the corrected balances.
Finally, the news reached Roy Valvas. A letter and owl from Narcissa Black and Bela White confirmed:
"The galleons have been refunded. Every vault has been restored. Gringotts complied under immense pressure."
Roy smiled, sipping his tea. Not only had he removed Voldemort and his followers' leverage over wizarding families, but he had also strengthened alliances and trust.
The wizarding world buzzed with whispers: who had orchestrated such a flawless recovery? The truth remained a secret… Roy Valvas.
After three weeks of leave, Roy Valvas returned to Hogwarts, the castle buzzing with activity as usual. He was greeted warmly by most professors and students, though whispers of his legendary exploits seemed to follow him wherever he went.
Professor Sprout quickly approached him, requesting a private word with Professor McGonagall. Following her instructions, Roy walked to McGonagall's office.
"Something's wrong?" Roy asked as he entered, his sharp eyes narrowing slightly. "Does this have to do with the new teaching staff for 1–4 years?"
McGonagall hesitated, clearly unsure how to begin. "It's… it's about Umbridge," she said finally, her tone grim.
Roy raised an eyebrow, a hint of a smirk playing on his lips. "That idiot again? What has she done this time?"
McGonagall opened her mouth, then froze. Even she couldn't believe what had transpired. She explained how Umbridge, true to form, had gone into Hagrid's Care of Magical Creatures class intending to lecture, intimidate, and ultimately fire him.
Hagrid, ever the gentle giant, had invited centaurs as part of the lesson to demonstrate their skills and their knowledge of prophecy magic. Umbridge, in her usual self-important fashion, scoffed at the centaurs, calling them "useless liars" and claiming they had no place teaching at Hogwarts.
But the centaurs had grown tired of her insults. Led by their chief, they swiftly took Umbridge prisoner, disappearing into the Forbidden Forest with her. Hagrid, embarrassed but relieved, muttered his thanks under his breath, while the centaurs ensured that Umbridge learned a lesson she would never forget.
Roy pinched the bridge of his nose, massaging it in exasperation. "She really doesn't learn, does she?" he muttered.
McGonagall, equally stunned by the turn of events, nodded. "I— I don't even know how to explain this. She… she actually got taken by the centaurs. I thought she'd try something clever, but this…"
Roy let out a long sigh and leaned back. "Don't worry, Minerva. I'll handle it from here."
With that, he left the office, a calm yet commanding presence that reminded everyone that Hogwarts had a principal who wouldn't let nonsense stand in the castle.
