Chapter 126 - He felt betrayed.

After hearing that, Cael didn't waste another second.

The moment the words reached his ears, anger flared inside him so fiercely that it felt like heat rushing through his veins. His face darkened almost instantly while his brows were knitting together as he gritted his teeth so hard it almost hurt.

Frustration twisted in his chest, heavy and suffocating while making it difficult for him to stay calm.

He felt betrayed.

Without another word, he turned and began walking down the palace hallway. No, storming would be a better word for it. His steps were fast, long and heavy with each one striking the marble floor with a sharp echo that bounced along the high walls.

The tension in his body was obvious in the way his shoulders were stiff and his fists kept clenching at his sides.

Servants who happened to pass by quickly stepped out of his path. Some even instinctively avoided their gaze while others pretended to busy themselves with something else.
