Elias stayed inside the tent longer than he probably should have, listening to Soren cry without interrupting him or asking for reasons.
He didn't try to fix anything.
He just sat there and let Soren fall apart, knowing that sometimes that was all he could offer.
When Soren finally stopped crying and slept into his lap, Elias stood up and slipped outside while hoping for a moment to breathe and just look for Caelius and asked more about Soren.
Unfortunately, the moment he stepped out, Sylas was there while leaning around like he owned the place, his eyes was lighting up the second he spotted Elias and the smug smirk came first.
Then the mocking followed, one that meant to dig under his skin. Sylas even called him names, laughed like it was all some kind of joke, and waited for a reaction.
But Elias didn't react.
