The tension between Dmitri and me had been building since we departed from the Palace. Being separated from our mate felt like a physical ache, especially when Garcia had only recently entered our world.
Ted and Livia maintained their silence throughout the SUV ride, though I could sense Livia's barely contained fury. She would unleash her wrath the moment we reached either the Alpha office or stepped onto the Alpha floor.
What caught me completely off guard was discovering most of our pack members gathered at the pack house. Their expressions ranged from outright anger to inexplicable joy, leaving me uncertain about what awaited us.
Chase and Cassandra stood waiting on the front porch, yet their attention remained fixed on the pack members rather than our approaching vehicle.
