The world was not always filled with evil. God created the world pure and beautiful. Humans bore sin and destroyed the land god had given and defied him. How may one survive in this hellish world full of destruction, betrayal and abuse.
(NARRATOR)
In a forest rode a carriage down a dirt path. In this carriage were 4 individuals, their destination was the Avangalion Academy. Where prodigies of the world were nurtured to become super powers, key players that could change the course of the world as we know it.
Inside the carriage. A tall boy with a muscular build sat next to a girl with a spear and on the other side a blonde boy who was kind and powerful. Next to him sat a slim boy with red eyes black hair. The girl said "hey guys, we have been silent the whole ride, how about we introduce ourselves" the blonde boy agreed. The girl went first "My name is Selira, I wield a spear it has a lesser spirit in it" "My name is Corin I use a lightning Chronicle" the muscular guy went after Corin "I am Aedric, I use a Chronicle of earth it's centered around hand to hand combat".
Selira asks "how about you, gloomy boy" the red eyed kid replies "I am Shinryu, I use a wind Chronicle" "Really, it's cool we all have some type of ability we can use, I hope we all pass the exam".
They rode for about 2 more hours, they were inside sleeping when suddenly the carriage stopped, shaking everyone awake. "What's going on!!!" shouted Selira, the driver shouted "The..t..there's a monster outside, no a whole pack of them". Corin told Shinryu to stay back and protect the driver, the other 3 went outside to fight the monsters.
They were these creatures their skin was pitch black and had some type of shadow flowing out of them, some had the shape of wolves, others looked like some weird monster, Corin said "I will take the left, Selira you take the right" said Coring there were 3 different packs of these shadowy monsters Aedric took the middle. Corin opened his chronicle, and called forth a storm of lightning that struck the beasts some evaded others got struck 4 from his side remained, he used his chronicle to summon a barrage of condensed lighting strikes disintegrating them all, or so he though one ambushed him from behind and lunged at him.
He was about to get hit then a bullet of wind struck down the monster, Shinryu had attacked it right before he got hit. "thanks" yelled Corin Shirnyu shook his head.
Selira was striking down beasts with the spear, she handled it pretty well. She was charging the tip of the spear with nexus energy from her lesser spirit making her able to destroy them in one strike, she started to activate a spell she spun her spear around making a perfect circle, then she moved around slicing all the monsters in her area, also some nexus slashes came out killing any monster that remained. She accidentally shot a slash at the carriage where Shinryu and the driver were, she shouted "LOOK OUT!!!!" Shinryu opened his chronicle and summoned an air barrier that redirected the slash back to a monster.
She sighed in relief, Aedric had almost finished his side he used his earth chronicle to summon pillars of stone that pushed the monsters towards him then he would punch them finishing them off.
They laid down for a minute and after they started to walk back towards the carriage, suddenly they all felt a chill. Alarmed they looked backwards, they saw a shadowy creature like what they fought only moments ago. But it was different, this one had an unusual amount of nexus and it was human shaped, after some thought they figured out what it was, this creature is what they would call an Umbryo. A monster that lives in a place with lots of nexus and over time evolves into something stronger. They all get ready to fight, Shinryu uses a wind shield to protect the driver and stays close to him. One of them spoke "Dam, I feel like if I move we are dead" said Corin they stared for a moment then Selira just charged at is she used a move that spun her spear in all directions hoping to land a strike. The Umbryo vanished, she looked around frantically trying to locate it. She was sweating a bit, then out of nowhere it appeared behind her and slashes. The force smashes her into a nearby tree, Corin tried using a lightning strike but it dodged. Aderic charged at it as well creating earth walls and to move around and try to catch it off guard, it started slashing at everything hitting Aderic as well which also ended up breaking his structure leaving ruble all over.
Corin on a last attempt created 3 pillars of lightning around the Umbryo and entered into the lightning trying to strike it but he was slow, also he was tired and running out of nexus. His energy gave out and the lightning disappeared. Umbryo appeared behind him while he was falling and kicked him, sending him smashing to the ground and kicking up some dust.
Shinryu sighs, "I wanted to keep a low profile, Oh well it is what it is" he said. Shinryu opens his chronicle wind starts to kick up around him it starts of slow but gets stronger more violent, just as he is about to make his move someone yells from above "PYRO PALM" a wave of fire looking like a current of heat strikes the Umbryo at a fast speed it crashes down fast.
After the wave of heat a person lands, a tall guy with a lean muscular build reddish brown hair, Shinryu closes his chronicle, the man who landed speaks "Hey you alright… name is Kiba, Kiba Tsukihara a third year at the Avangalion Academy" "I heard a commotion and came running" Shinryu replies "Oh your from the Academy? My name is Shinryu Kagemori, we were heading to the Academy but we were attacked by monsters, we took care of the weaker ones than this one showed up" Kiba replies "I see, so these unconscious people are your travel companions I suppose" "yes they are" Shinryu answered.
Shinryu then thanked him for his help. They picked up the carriage and the others also a half unconscious Corin who had recovered a bit.
They continued on their ride to the Academy, Kiba also tagged with them just in case anything else happened. They made it to the entrance after a few hours. They were all awake by then they stepped off the gates that were made of silver and there were 2 guards at the gate, Kiba showed them his student id and we showed them our examination cards. Kiba told us where to go to register since the cards were only to let us in.
At the registration area a green haired girl attended them. She said "hey my name is Misaki… I will handle yall's registration, yall are here for entrance exam right" They nodded then one by one she gave us an examine id and a key for a temporary dorm at the Academy she also gave them a tourist pass so they could explore the Academy before the exam.
(SHINRYU)
She told us where we could find our rooms and also exactly when the exam was to start which was 3 days from now. After we all parted ways to our rooms, I went where she had told me a building 30 feet from the main gate, I enter it and go down a set of stairs my room was 315 so I was looking around passed by a few rooms till i reached 315, I put in the key and just as I was about to go in a girl stood at the door next to mine, I looked at her she waved at me with a smile I waved back then entered my room. The rooms were not bad, they had good furniture and a personal bath and also some snacks. On the way I had not fought much at all but the explosions and dust got me dirty so I decided to take a bath and put my cloak and rest of clothes to wash. After i got out the bath I put on some regular clothes I was going to go and look around the campus which was huge about half the size of a city, also I wanted to go to a blacksmith since I wanted to keep a low profile I was going to get a weaker Chronicle it would probably be a Chronicle Weapon.
The place is huge, where do I start?. Let's see I will go look at the first year class room building, the building is in a corner place its big almost like a mall, these hallways stretch far this school definitely has money that's for sure, there is a lot of students some of them waved at me through the window as I walked down the hallway. This school doesn't have a traditional school system; they take in students at random points of the year so there are some first years that will be ahead of me in time even though we are in the same year.
They have about 87 thousand students for just the first year. I think I will go check out the shops next. I go outside and see some booths where there is food some cosmetics, clothing, armor, weapons and other stuff. I decided to go eat something since I haven't eaten anything, this booth sells some steak. I think I will buy a meal here, this food is great and has a good flavor. Either that or I am just starving.
(NARRATOR)
After Shinryu finishes eating he decides he will go check out the training grounds. Each year has 5 of them meaning there are 25 in total because there are 5 course years. Shinryu goes to the closest one, inside a few people are in their training, some students are having sparring sessions like two guys Shinryu sat down to observe. The two were blade users who had Chronicle Weapons, one used water, the other used earth. Shinryu watched for a bit and was a little interested in their battle. It came to an end and the water user won.
He saw a group of people training something he gets closer to observe them. He sees that two girls were practicing buffs on some of their squad mates. 1 girl and 2 guys were practicing how to maintain the buffs on them while in combat. Shinryu thinks this strategy is not so efficient, the buffers are open to attacks and it seems like their buff is giving them most of their strength, they should keep at least one person to defend them.
Shinryu went up to them and introduced himself as an examinee, they introduced themselves back. Shinryu says "I was watching y'all practice and I think you can improve on something" one of the boys walked up to Shinryu and said "what you saying we don't know what we are doing? Do you think we are novices?" with an angry tone. "that is not what I said" replied Shinryu "all I said was I think you can improve on something" "you should have one of y'all defending the buffers so they don't go down since your whole strat revolves around them" one of the girls replied "thats a good ide…" The guy cut her off he grabbed Shinryu by the shirt and said "that's not necessary none of them will get past us" Shinryu replied "that's not guaranteed" Shinryu was about to do something until one of the girls told him to put him down he just let him go and walked away, she apologised and Shinryu said it was no problem and walked away.
Shinryu went off to find a blacksmith, he was about to ask a vendor on the street when he saw a guy yelling out for someone. He walked up to him and asks him if he was looking for someone, the guy replied "oh yea I am looking for my sister she is about 3 feet tall and she is wearing a blue dress and a blue bun hat" Shinryu offered to help him find her, Shinryu told him to split up to find her and he nodded.
Shinryu leapt up onto the roofs and started to look from above, maybe she got lost in some alley, he thought. He looked around, jumping from roof to roof trying to find a girl that matched her description. He then hears some crying, it's coming from an alley. He jumps into it and finds the girl matching the description.
(SHINRYU)
I am a little confused, how and why did she end up over here, I was only joking I did not actually think she'd be in an alley. I approached her, she was scared at first until I told her I was helping her brother look for her. She told me her name was Yuna, I carried her on my back and jumped back to where her brother was. I landed next to him and gave him his sister back, he told me his name was Kaito Onikuro and he was a 3rd year in the Academy. He thanked me and offered to assist me if I needed anything. I thought for a moment then asked him if he knew of any good blacksmiths because I need a weapon made for me. He asked me if I wanted a normal weapon to be made or a Chronicle weapon. I told him I wanted a Chronicle weapon (quick explanation: the difference between a weapon and a Chronicle weapon is that a Chronicle weapon has abilities that u can use with nexus as a normal weapon is just normal it has nothing). He tells me he knows of a good blacksmith that specialises in Chronicles and asked me to follow him.
We walk for a bit until we reach a shop in a corner. He tells me it's usually packed but since it's the weekend not many people pass by they usually just train or relax. We enter the shop and we are greeted by a man named Genzou Kurogane, he asked us what he can help us with, and Kaito told him I was looking for someone who could craft me a Chronicle weapon. He walked up to me and said "Alright I would be glad to assist, do you know what kind you want and what element?" I told him I wanted a pair of daggers and they were to be water type. He told me he could do them for 2 gold and I agreed. I am not that hesitant to trust his work because based on the stuff he has in his shop it looks like he knows what he is doing.
Also he has a Smithing Chronicle so there is no way he is a scammer (Explanation again, Smithing Chronicles are pen shaped Chronicles that can forge weapons and edit regular chronicles).
I then paid him, got more thanks from Kaito and Yuna, then I returned to my dorm.
I entered my dorm feeling quite tired from all the running around I did, I took my clothes from the laundry room and went to bed.
EXAM DAY
(NARRATOR)
Shinryu wakes up. It's already been 3 days, he did not do much of anything on those days. He gets up from his bed and takes a shower. Then he heads out and goes to the blacksmith to pick up his daggers, he enters the shop "hey Shinryu, I am done with your order" said Genzou. He gave Shinryu these marble blue daggers and gave him a free belt to hold them on. Shinryu thanked him and went to the exam area.
Once he arrived he saw a few other people waiting there as well. He inspected his weapon and figured out all its moves and its capabilities, although he wanted to know what the test was about and was hoping it was not a 1 on 1 battle since he does not know how to use his new weapon yet. More people arrived and after some time everyone looked to be there. Someone came up to the stage area in the testing area and said "my name is Takuma Hoshigami and i will be your test examiner for this year's test".
