"Tsunade, you can stay since this concerns a family member, but remember anything said here is not to be exposed outside. Do you understand?" Yuri asked seriously.
Tsuande, seeing this, nodded equally seriously; she didn't know what her mom wanted to say, but she knew now wasn't the time for jokes.
Seeing Tsunade taking this seriously, Yuri smiled. "Good, now Hiruko, as you may know, I am from the Uzumaki Clan, and my clan has three special abilities inherent to us, one of which is a bloodline limit simply known as the 'Heal Bite,'" Yuri said, taking a pause, allowing the two to digest what she was saying.
After a moment of suspense, Yuri continued,
"For centuries, even back to the warring states era, the Uzumaki have been coveted for this ability by people, and now that you have awakened an ability vastly more powerful than it, you are at risk," Yuri said seriously.
Hearing this, Hiruko became slightly solemn; he knew when revealing this ability he was at risk.
"I kno—" Hiruko began to say the words pouring out of his mouth, but before he could, Yuri cut him off, her tone several notches higher, and a pain Hiruko couldn't even begin to understand filled her voice.
"No, you don't, Hiruko. You don't understand the depths people would go to for your power.
My people have been tortured to death with bites for their healing properties.
Whether it be women or children, they would be bit again and again and again until they were drained of whatever they had, and then when they began to lose their purpose, they were raped, no matter the age, to reproduce in hopes they could conceive another bank of flesh to bite." Yuri said, her eyes watering up a bit.
Hiruko wanted to say something, but he knew Yuri hadn't finished what she wanted to say.
Yuri, looking at Hiruko, who was politely waiting for her to finish, smiled.
She always loved how respectful and kind Hiruko was to them, but it also made her worry.
'What if someone takes advantage of that kindness' She couldn't help but think
Standing up, Yuri walked over to Hiruko and Tsunade, putting a soft hand on each cheek.
"Look, you both are children, ones I would give my life to protect, and as much as I want you both to live a life devoid of worry and problems, that simply isn't possible.
This world is broken and cares not who are children and who are old or sick.
All it cares about is worth and what that worth brings to themselves. It is important you know that," Yuri said her voice breaking as she continued
"So be careful; don't trust recklessly.
It is important you know that this world is dangerous, and most importantly, watch out for each other.
You are family now, and when… when we're all gone and you as the next generation take over, it'll be just the two of you." Yuri said, her voice full of warmth, love, and fear.
Looking at the two pairs of eyes that stared back at her, one of worry and the other of understanding, Yuri cleared her throat and sat.
"I don't do this to scare you two, but it's important you know how scary this world is so you're prepared to face it, understood?"
Yuri said, her voice cracking somewhat again this wasn't an easy conversation to have but it was a necessary one.
Tsunade, swallowing a gulp at her mother's words, could only look at Hiruko. He was always the one she looked at when she didn't know what to think.
"Yes, we understand, and we'll make sure to watch out for each other, I promise. Isn't that right, Tsunade?"
Hiruko said, looking over to Tsunade, meeting her eyes with warmth.
Tsuande, caught off guard by this, took a moment to process.
"Yeah, I guess I can watch out for you and protect you since you need it." Tsunade said as if she didn't care, her eyes darting off and her arms crossed.
But both Hiruko and Yuri could tell she did because no one mentioned 'protecting.'
Yuri, seeing this, felt happy; a tiny knot of worry in her heart unraveled just a bit.
"Good, now you guys are having a team meeting tomorrow, right?. You guys should get going to bed. Plus Hiruko has a date tomorrow." Yuri teased.
Tsuande frowned slightly at the prospect of going to bed and decided to join in on the teasing to make herself feel better.
"Oh yeah, you and that Uchiha girl are perfect enemies to lovers," Tsunade said,
making smooching sounds to annoy Hiruko.
Which worked
"One, it's not a date, it's lunch; two, in order for it to be enemies to lovers, it requires us to be enemies first, idiot; and last, she's like twice my age."
Hiruko said, annoyed, as he planned to make an escape to his room to take a shower.
"Aww, whatever. Since we had problems with her clan, at least you guys can be the next Romeo and Juliet. Don't worry, we'll play the perfect Montagues for you."
Tsunade said not to give up on trying to embarrass Hiruko.
Hiruko simply said, "Okay, you can be Benvolio; you're already close enough to him," before walking off to his room.
Tsuande, however, sat there confused at his comment.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Tsunade yelled.
"It means you look like a man," Hiruko yelled back.
"You—you jerk," Tsunade said, fuming, chasing after Hiruko.
—
After about 40 minutes, 10 of which were spent subduing Tsunade, Hiruko yelled from the shower.
"Hey, you guys wouldn't have happened to bring me a change of clothes, would you?"
Hiruko asked, though he wouldn't mind using his Garb-Garb abilities, but the only plant was in the living room where everyone was, plus he didn't want to risk someone noticing.
After about five minutes, Sakumo came to the bathroom door, passing some clothes through the slit.
Hiruko grabbed and unraveled them and looked at them in pure shock.
"Sakumo, what is this?" Hiruko said, his voice rising a few notches.
"Umm, Master, when we went to your house to inform Lady Mito, she insisted you would need some clothes for the night and sent these.
'You've got to be kidding me, Mom.' Hiruko thought a tick appeared on his face as he reluctantly put on the clothes.
After a few minutes, Hiruko, walking out of the bathroom into the living room, was met with pure ridicule by Tsunade and the senseless laughter of the other three.
"You look ridiculous," Tsunade said through laughter as she rolled, pointing at Hiruko, his long wet hair cascading down his back and his piercing red eyes, which held an annoyed look, as he wore a tiny white bunny onesie that held an equally tiny puffball as a tail on his back.
When paired with his small stature, being six and all, and his somewhat feminine appearance, Hiruko looked like the epitome of cute.
"Why not put on your hood with bunny ears?" Tsunade continued with uncontrollable laughter.
But suddenly, before she could continue her jokes, a strong pressure descended on her, slamming her face into the ground.
"Oh, that surely shut you up, and as I see it, you're wearing a onesie just like me," Hiruko said, irritated, as he pointed at Tsunade's signature slug onesie she wore every night.
"You little cheater, you know using that weird gravity of yours is unfair." Tsunade said, completely disregarding Hiruko's point.
"Both of you stop it; you both look like little cutie pies," Yuri said as she pulled a camera from who knows where and quickly snapped a picture.
"No, Yur—"
"No mo—"
Both Tsunade and Hiruko tried to say something, but Yuri was quicker, already taking a photo.
"Sorry, but I and Mito already agreed that this needed to be immortalized." Yuri said, laughing without a hint of shame.
Off to the side Duy and Sakumo both sat laughing just as much, though Sakumo at least tried to hold back somewhat for the sake of his master.
"Whatever, I'm going to bed," Hiruko said as he stormed off to his room.
—
Back in his room, Hiruko lay between a sleeping Sakumo and Duy, who decided neither wanted to take the bed and instead slept with Hiruko.
Yuri and Tsunade, on the other hand, lay on Hiruko's couch-bed together.
'Ughh, I can't sleep.' Hiruko thought as he decided to go through his system notifications he's been missing lately.
'Hey system, can you show me all the notifications I've missed the past few days?' Hiruko said internally as a luminescent blue screen appeared.
[Yes, host!]
[Host, you have completed the mission.]
[You have earned Sanji's genetically modified exoskeleton.]
[Host is unconscious; reward integration will be put on hold.]
[Host, you have a mission.]
[Defeat Sakumo Hatake in a duel only using swordsmanship.]
[Reward: Armament Haki]
[Host, you have failed the mission.]
[Host automatic mission second chance is being activated.]
[Second chance usage ⅓]
[Host has 30 days to complete mission.]
Hiruko looked over the notifications in surprise.
He didn't know he could fail a mission, or more like he didn't think he would fail one.
'To think I almost lost out on Armament Haki.' Hiruko solemnly thought, but part of him was glad.
This showed him just because he gained something like basic swordsmanship from the system doesn't mean he should neglect it and not train in it in hopes of getting advanced or whatever swordsmanship.
'I'll increase my strength and continue practicing and then challenge him again.'
Hiruko thought resolutely.
Looking around at the sleeping bodies of Duy and Sakumo, who was holding a sword while he slept, Hiruko thought it better to hold off on installing his rewards.
'I'll focus on mastering my current strength and practicing Jutsu before I go installing rewards again.'
Hiruko thought, coming to his conclusion before he turned on his side, closing his eyes not to sleep but to focus on trying to draw out moisture from the air.
His goal was to complete the most basic Jutsu in Tobirama's notes by the end of the week, which was the Water Wall Jutsu, and he planned to use moisture to complete it, not chakra imitation.
'Time to grind.' Hiruko thought as he began trying to sense and control the moisture.
