The Roger Pirates and the Flying Pirates started fighting against each other with an intensity that shook the very seas around them.
With the overwhelming numbers of the Flying Pirates, which had the sheer quantity of ships and men that made it so that they became the undisputed largest pirate fleet in the current era, the battle seemed lopsided at first glance.
However, the Roger Pirates, despite having significantly fewer numbers on their single ship, possessed a quality of member strength that is much higher than the average members of the Flying Pirates, which made it so that they could fight against the massive fleet equally without losing ground.
Roger, despite his monstrous strength and Haki, is having a harder time than usual against Shiki, who can use the air and the gravity around them for his own significant advantage in the fight to stay out of reach.
Roger is clearly getting frustrated by the lack of confrontation. Still, there is nothing Roger could do immediately, unlike Shiki, whose mastery of his Float-Float Devil Fruit allowed him to close the gap in raw physical strength between them by manipulating the environment itself.
Gaban and Rayleigh were the ones responsible for fighting against all of the leading cadres of Shiki's fleet, who, despite not having the same monstrous individual strength as Gaban and Rayleigh, were also able to use their sheer numbers and tactical coordination to at least fight and hold back the two wings of the Pirate King.
After all, these commanders had all been thriving in the New World for years, which is the most chaotic and dangerous part of the sea, so they were far from weaklings.
Meanwhile, the interns of the Roger Pirates are also enjoying themselves in the chaos, as Bullet was using the ordinary members of the Flying Pirates to train Buggy even more intensely by throwing them at him.
Shanks was competing with Buggy to see who could take down more enemies, while Shamrock was just calmly fighting back with his wooden sword, not killing anyone but simply incapacitating them with precise strikes to the neck or stomach.
Suddenly, Shamrock was attacked by another pirate from the crowd, but unlike the others who swung wildly, this one seemed trained in a specific martial arts style, something that reminded Shamrock of techniques he had seen before in his memories.
When Shamrock blocked the strike from that pirate's punch, it produced a dull, heavy sound that Shamrock could hear, which was remarkably similar to metal striking wood.
This made Shamrock stop his counterattack immediately as he directly looked at the pirate, whose looks and demeanor are so much more refined and disciplined than the other rough pirates around them, something that made Shamrock suddenly realize precisely what was happening here in the middle of the war.
"Saint Shamrock, I had been ordered to bring you back to your own family, both you and Saint Shanks," the pirate said in a somber, low tone, which made Shamrock stop and look at the pirate with a guarded expression.
"I think you got the wrong person, as I am not a Saint, and I am far from being a saint, considering I am a pirate," Shamrock answered, acting perfectly as if he did not know what the person was talking about.
But inside Shamrock's thoughts, there is an entirely different train of thought running through his mind.
'It seems that they had been impatient enough to make a move during a war,' Shamrock thought to himself.
He knew exactly what was happening, as the pirate in front of him was not a pirate at all, but a member of the Cipher Pol agents.
Shamrock did not know whether the agent had recently joined the Flying Pirates for this mission or had infiltrated them long ago, but he did not care about the details, as he did not want to return to the Holy Land this early in his journey.
"Forgive me, Saint Shamrock, but you had been deprived of your authority and birthright due to an unfortunate incident from the past involving God Valley. If you come with me quietly, I am sure you would understand what I am saying," the agent said towards Shamrock, trying to persuade him amidst the chaos of battle.
"I will not fall for your confusing words, as I know what kind of pirates the Flying Pirates are. You would just use me and Shanks' life as hostages just to make Captain Roger a little bit distracted and make him lose this war," Shamrock said loudly.
He then covered his wooden sword with armament haki to prepare for a real fight, but the strange thing was that his haki was not black like everyone else's, but had a distinct red hue.
This red color is similar to the red of the sword of the sun-breath users from his past life memories, something Shamrock attributed internally to the Essence he drank before he was reborn.
"Forgive me for my would-be actions then, as my team and I were given an order and permission to use any force necessary to bring you and Saint Shanks back into your right place," the agent said coldly.
Then, suddenly, a lot more stares from the crowd fell on Shamrock, which Shamrock immediately felt through his observation haki.
The pirate agent attacked Thamrock with Rokushiki techniques, as did the others in the crowd who were trying to restrain Shamrock.
Shanks was also attacked by many other agents disguised as pirates who were trying to capture him alive.
Shamrock swung his wooden sword, now covered in glowing red haki, into the hands of the original agent who had tried to persuade him earlier, which was blocked with his hand that was covered in armament haki, as well as using the Iron Body technique.
Another agent used this moment of distraction as they attempted to attack Shamrock from his blind spot.
Still, Shamrock, who had decided not to hold back his strength anymore due to the risk of his identity being exposed, started taking in a deep breath.
"Dragon Sun Halo Head Dance!" Shamrock then softly said.
He moved so fast that the attacking agents did not even see Shamrock move from his spot, as he just disappeared in front of them and appeared instantly at the side of Shanks, who was struggling with his own attackers.
But then suddenly, the heads of the CP agents started flying off into the air, as it all got cut cleanly from their necks in a single motion.
Shamrock had decided to kill every single CP agent that attacked him and Shanks to silence them, something that made Shanks and Buggy scared at the sudden brutality, and made Bullet excited at the display of ruthlessness.
"I did not know that you have that kind of killer instinct in you," Bullet said with a grin on his face, as he punched the nearest pirate in front of him with full force.
With Bullet's strength, Shamrock does not have any doubt that the hit pirate died instantly from the impact.
"They tried to kidnap Shanks and me to use as leverage to distract Captain Roger so that Shiki could defeat him, and I will not allow someone to use me to get to Captain Roger," Shamrock said outwardly to his friends.
He knew the den den mushi cameras were still observing him the agents likely had in their wear, so he had to frame his actions as loyalty to Roger rather than hatred for the World Government.
"What?! The reputation of the Flying Pirates regarding their dirty tactics is really true, then," Shanks said.
Shanks, who became surprised initially at why Shamrock killed someone, as he had never seen Shamrock do it before, suddenly came to an understanding of the situation. It fired him up for the same purpose of protecting the Captain, and Buggy as well got angry, while Bullet just grinned at the prospect of more violence.
This all continued until the inevitable came, as the storm that had been brewing ominously since the start of the war escalated rapidly.
It created an incredibly tall wave that separated the ships and destroyed Shiki's fleet with natural fury.
At the same time, the Oro Jackson was carried safely by the wave, as if the ocean itself were helping them escape the war.
"HAHAHAHAHA! Luck is on my side this time, Shiki!" Roger couldn't help but yell towards Shiki.
Roger watched as the ships of Shiki's fleet got destroyed one by one by the massive whirlpools and waves, not realizing that there was a large steering rudder flying over Shiki's head, which would soon lodge itself into the Golden Lion's skull.
The Oro Jackson then safely escaped the fight, as they were the victorious side of the battle, with no casualties, while their enemy lost half their fleet to the sudden storm.
