Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Finding Out Where I Will Be Working For Now On For The Fellowship.

The day after the meeting with the directors and supervisor about receiving the McArthur Fellowship, which I still don't know why I received it in the first place because there are so many better candidates than plain clumsy me and I didn't even applied for it in the first place, but few months before the Valentine's Day's Auction rang out for the day, I got a text from Raúl saying "Hey, Anne. Can you meet me in the school's library to talk?" I replied "Hey, Raúl. Sure, I will meet you in the library." As I got to the library, I saw him chatting with the head librarian Ralo. Ralo is a man in his 50s, easygoing and acts like a bid older brother to us medical students and professors as he said "Hi Anne. How are you today? Congratulations on the McArthur Fellowship." I replied "Hi Ralo. I'm well thanks. Thanks and how do you know?" Raúl interjects and turned to me "I told him then it became hot news now everyone knows. We are going to where we are going to work on completing the McArthur Fellowship Presentation and Research. As we got outside, he asked for my phone. At first I thought he was joking about the part of working with the military, but he gave me a look that he wasn't joking when he told my parents that. A quick 5 minutes upgrade, he gave back my phone with a military grade security then my parents that I was with Raúl going to the laboratory to see where I will be working for now on. As we arrived at the laboratory, we met with his associate Dr. Annabelle Ruiz Reyes as she was leaving for the day "Hello, who is this? I'm Dr. Annabelle Ruiz Reyes but you can call me Annabelle." Raúl answered "This is Anne Monik Ross Webber. She has been accepted to receive the McArthur Fellowship so I am now her supervisor in completing her project. Where's the rest of the team?" Dra. Annabelle Ruiz Reyes replied "Congratulations on receiving the McArthur Fellowship. He's good as a supervisor. He will teach you a lot but be careful of this one because he can get very mischievous if not controlled. They left hours ago. Did you forget Raúl!" Raúl rebuffed "I'm not mischievous. Oh, right! I forget that every Friday leaves early to enjoy the weekend off with their families." He told me "Monday, I will introduce Anne to the rest of the team. Completely forget that every Friday we all leave early and don't come back until Monday to help prevent mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety caused by Burn Out Syndrome." After talking to Annabelle, who seemed to be a very nice and easy going person, Raúl decided to give me a quick tour of the laboratory. The laboratory is massive with many departments such as, clinical genetics, orthopedics, pathology, and genetic processing for infectious diseases and vaccine creation many others which acted more like highly specialized hospital than a highly ac laboratory. The laboratory had a gym with a swimming pool, mall and spa, Starbucks, library and a huge cafeteria similar format to how the Google Headquarters is laid out back at home in Mountain View. Personally, I have two places I call home, one being Mexico City, Mexico and the other being Mountain View, CA. He took me to my work station, which was oddly close to his office then took me to see his office.While alone in his office at the laboratory, he started to sexually flirt and grope me relentlessly. While I started to get worried that someone would see us in the act. He assured me "Don't worry Anne. No one goes to this part of the building anyway. It's Friday, everyone left hours ago. I am the owner, CEO, and main shareholder of this company so I can do whenever I please." After a few hours of messing around, we left and he told me "See you Monday."
