"When are you going to get up?"
Aarav drags evelyn into a private pink-and-red–themed room known as the Connecting Room where callers test their compatibility before deciding whether to connect(date)by talking about themselves in general. If both parties sense potential in their connection, they are allowed to move on to the next step. If they don't sense any connection, they are allowed to interact with others or choose to leave the gathering. At the moment, they were in the first stage of the room, which contained only a sofa and a table laid out with a few snacks and refreshments. As soon as they entered, Aarav dropped onto the sofa and began eating the food arranged on the table. Meanwhile, Evelyn bowed down on the floor, her posture apologetic.
She maintains that posture for more than 5 minutes while Aarav is feeling his thread of patience close to snapping.
"I'm really sorr-"
"Cut the crap"
"Thank you for protecting me back there."
"Lift your head"
When evelyn lifts her head , she sees Aarav gesturing her to sit beside her by tapping his hand on the side of the sofa. After a few seconds, the pace of the tapping increases and evelyn immediately stands up and sit besides him.
"She's like a scared little puppy who got caught stealing food."
The room is silent for a few minutes as Aarav eats the food served on the table enjoying every bite of it.
"Um, Don't you have anything you want to ask me?"
"Are you going to give me the answer if I asked?"
"..."
"I really didn't have any intention of joining this event and I was really not lying about being a married woman. I know it sounds absurd-"
"I know."
"Huh?"
"Anvika filled me on the details during the time you were hospitalized, as for the matter regarding your grand entrance , only callers who are fully registered within the guild are allowed or forced to attend this event so there is no way you came here willingly. If you had any intention of cheating for fame- "
"I WOULD NEVER-"
Evelyn immediately shuts her mouth as Aarav chokes on his snacks . She offers him some water and gives him some time to calm down since anger is clearly visible on his face.
"Sigh… back to what I was saying , I know you have no intention to do something like that since Anvika could see how much you loved talking about the love and affection you have for your husband despite your odd nature and way of communicating."
"You really trust her a lot, huh?"
Aarav just pretends he didn't hear anything and continues with his conversation.
"Anyway, what were you thinking, barging in here without registering yourself?! You're really lucky my partner bailed on me at the last minute—otherwise, how were you going to explain yourself in front of all the callers?! You really-"
Aarav stops midway noticing evelyn was on the verge of tears. He sighs to himself and picks up a chocolate ball present on the desk and puts the chocolate on her mouth.
"You won't survive in this field if you keep taking every scolding to your heart. Be glad that you decided to join our group to back you up."
Evelyn suddenly gagged, choking on the chocolate she had been chewing just now.
"What group is he talking about?"
