Chapter 34 - 34

Natalia, lying on the sofa, heard Watson's question and replied, "Yes, once, Aunt Liya was attacked by two people at the supermarket, and I happened to be on duty and helped her out..."

Crack!!

The teacup in Watson's hand instantly shattered!

Natalia felt as if the air temperature had dropped by dozens of degrees, like falling into an ice cellar!

Danger! Very dangerous!

She instantly stood up from the sofa, adopting a defensive posture. This was completely uncontrollable, an autonomous reaction from years of facing extreme danger!

Although a large part of her drunkenness was feigned, she had later truly opened her heart and immersed herself in that warm banquet.

But now, she had no trace of drunkenness left!

She felt as if she was being stared at by a beast that could devour her in an instant.

As Watson slowly turned his head, those eyes, that gaze, were like a man-eating beast.

She had never felt this way since leaving the Red Room!

"What do you want?!"

"The Manhattan Police Department can't keep such a good officer. I don't want anything."

Watson knew that this couldn't be a self-directed play by S.H.I.E.L.D. because it was too clumsy and full of flaws! They would never be able to fully understand his capabilities because he was constantly growing! And this current state was something Watson had only recently discovered: when he stared intently at someone and unreservedly released his intention to kill them, this effect would occur.

Watson called it the Dragon's Gaze, although it was strange, and the system did not show any new skills.

Watson slowly walked over, each step seemingly treading on Natalia's heart.

Just as Natalia was about to instinctively counterattack, she suddenly felt that man-eating sensation disappear.

Watson grabbed her chin, slowly leaned his face close, and said, "It's simple, I want the information on those two people! Who are they! Where did they come from!"

Natalia felt the scorching breath so close, and the terrifying feeling from just now, and her heart suddenly panicked: "Okay, I'll contact them for you, you'll get everything you want!"

"Go." Then Watson sat on the sofa, with a cold expression... but in his heart—he was indeed very angry at first, but after the anger, he felt that the famous Black Widow was so frightened by his Dragon's Gaze, it was—too much fun—then he began to listen to Natalia reporting to her superior with an air of calm confidence.

"Officer, it's me, Natasha." Natasha sighed and connected with Nick Fury.

"—You've been exposed?"

"Yes—he wants the two people who attacked Aunt Liya, and their detailed information." Natasha looked at the man sitting silently on the sofa and continued.

"—Agree to it. From now on, he's your responsibility—but, what's this about your Aunt Liya?"

"Nothing, sir." With that, Natasha ended the call and walked over.

—Nick Fury looked at the disconnected call and muttered, "Natasha, I hope you're not the next Hawkeye. It's not time to retire yet! I hope I'm wrong—"

—"So, what should I call you now? Agent Natasha?" Watson suddenly chuckled, then turned his head and asked.

For some reason, seeing Watson's sneer, Natasha felt a pang in her heart.

She remembered the dinner at Aunt Liya's earlier, that feeling.

Perhaps after today, she would never feel it again.

Natasha scoffed at herself in her mind, What am I thinking?

Such things are too far removed from an agent like me. I'm not like Clint—she composed herself.

Natasha extended her hand to Watson on the sofa again: "Natasha Romanoff, thanks to your suggestion, I am now a senior agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. From now on, Coulson's work will be my responsibility. The information and people you requested will be delivered tomorrow."

Watson glanced at Natasha, did not extend his hand, and simply said, "Sit."

Natasha wasn't disappointed and sat down next to Watson.

After a long pause, Natasha couldn't help but say, "I'm very sorry, I shouldn't have—"

"You shouldn't be saying that apology to me, but to Aunt Liya and Uncle Poke," Watson turned his head, continuing to stare at her with cold eyes.

Natasha didn't know how to respond after hearing that. After a moment of silence, she suddenly asked, "You—what kind of person are you, really?"

"Aren't you an agent? What kind of person do you think I am?"

Natasha pondered for a moment and said, "The person you are now and the person you were at the dinner earlier are like two completely different people, yet both are real. I feel like you're a selfish person, someone who would do anything without a bottom line for your family! And you possess immense power! Logically, someone like you would be a prime target for our scrutiny. But we thoroughly investigated your actions when you went to save people last time, and our conclusion was that it was genuinely your inner desire, untainted by other motives. So, I also feel like you're a person with a sense of justice and principles."

Watson was also a little surprised to hear that. As expected of a group of agents, they probed quite thoroughly.

However, Watson did not answer Natasha's question but instead said, "Let's go upstairs. There's a balcony outside my bedroom, perfect for viewing the moon at night."

After saying that, he went straight upstairs without waiting for Natasha's response.

Natasha stood still, hesitated, and then followed him up.

Watson, already sitting on the balcony, heard the sound behind him and couldn't help but smile.

Looking at the charming woman who walked up and sat in front of him, Watson suddenly recalled a question he once had in his mind.

What would happen if the 'her' from two worlds met?

Although it wasn't very realistic, at least one of them was sitting in front of him.

Watson looked at Natasha, who was sitting opposite him, and suddenly spoke: "Let me tell you a story—Natasha. Do you know what happens if the human brain is developed to 100%?"

Natasha clearly hadn't expected Watson to say something like that. Was he going to tell his own story?

"No... I don't know, what happens?"

Watson didn't answer her but continued, "There once was a girl, beautiful, sexy, just like you."

At this point, Watson's gaze fixed on Natasha as he continued, "One day, she was deceived by her boyfriend and brought a suitcase to meet a gang leader. To force her to go, he handcuffed her to the suitcase. While waiting in the hotel, helpless, gang members killed her boyfriend in front of her. She sought help from the hotel staff, but no one helped her. She was brought before the gang leader, who couldn't speak English. He had someone tell her that if she wanted to live, she had to obey, and then he made her open the suitcase. Inside was the latest developed drug."

At this point, Watson suddenly asked, "If this girl were you, what would you do?"

"I would kill all of them."

Watson heard this and gave a helpless smile: "That's truly an agent's answer."
