Chapter 47 - Power of Nature

The world before Bai Chen's eyes—

had changed.

Everything shimmered in colors invisible to ordinary sight.

Tiny motes of light, like drifting fireflies, rose gently from the earth. Around him floated faint brown orbs, pulsing softly with life.

Farther away, within the forest canopy,

green spheres ascended like vapor trails of living energy.

And that was only a fraction of what he could now see.

The air itself… was breathing.

Every tree, every stone, every living creature—

all of them were alive in ways he had never imagined.

Even the still air shimmered with veins of force,

and when he looked down, He saw a two-meter pillar of energy burning from his own body.

Curious, he called for Nergigante.

The dragon's energy flame towered over three meters high, a raging inferno compared to his own.

For comparison, Bai Chen glanced toward Lillie.

Her flame barely flickered at two centimeters,

while Lusamine's was a steadier five.

"You… um," Bai Chen tilted his head, frowning.

"Lillie, you wouldn't happen to be… having your time of the month, would you?"

Lillie's face turned scarlet in an instant.

Her voice squeaked out, panicked and flustered.

"W–What!? H-How do you even know that!?"

"I can see it."

"See it!?" she squealed, glancing down at her skirt in horror,

checking every angle as if she'd somehow leaked through reality itself.

Unable to withstand Bai Chen's calm, analytical stare any longer,

Lillie covered her face, stomped her foot, and shouted—

"Bai Chen, you idiot!!"

She spun on her heel and bolted for her room, slamming the door behind her with a sharp bang!

Lusamine, meanwhile, laughed softly behind her hand.

"Asking a lady that kind of question…

that's terribly impolite, you know~"

Bai Chen scratched the back of his head,

offered a sheepish grin,

then went to apologize.

Lillie—soft-hearted as ever—

forgave him immediately.

(Easily appeased as always...)

That morning, Bai Chen spent his time experimenting with Nature Power.

The perspective it granted him was nothing short of revolutionary.

It offered three clear advantages:

First — While the system could already analyze combat stats and enemy traits,

it couldn't interpret natural fluctuations—the flow of wild energy.

This new vision filled that gap perfectly.

Second — It sharpened precision.

By tracing the flow of energy within an opponent,

Bai Chen could locate vital points far more accurately.

Combined with Focus Energy, it would make his strikes devastatingly precise.

And third—

Nature Power wasn't just perception.

It trained the body's energy channels. Like Bulk Up, it strengthened his physique,

and even more so, it enhanced his aura cultivation.

He could now absorb natural energy faster and more efficiently.

And that improvement would scale directly with proficiency.

"So the higher my mastery of this move,

the stronger my breathing flow becomes..."

There was one thing he hadn't tested yet—

whether Nature Power could boost Z-Move performance.

That would have to wait until his stamina fully recovered.

Six hours remained until the transfer.

Bai Chen, Lillie, and Lusamine shared a hearty lunch. Halfway through, Lillie timidly offered—

"White-san… let me help pack your luggage."

Bai Chen smiled.

"Alright, I'll leave it to you."

By the fifth hour, his injuries had completely healed.

He returned to the training yard for one last experiment.

He activated his solo Z-Move.

This time, the difference was obvious.

Without Nature Power, his body had seized up for over ten seconds after use,

His meridians are trembling, damaged by the energy surge.

But now?

The paralysis barely lasted a second or two,

and the internal strain was negligible.

His Super Regeneration mended everything in moments.

Even the stamina drain had eased.

Before, a single Z-Move consumed eighty percent of his total energy.

Now—with Nature Power—

It dropped to just under seventy.

"That's… a huge improvement."

"And this is only the beginner level of the skill."

His anticipation grew.

If he could reach Adept or even Mastery, He might use Z-Moves freely.

By afternoon, the Master Smith had finished restoring his armor.

The blacksmith crossed her arms, half-smiling, half-scolding.

"Take better care of my work, got it?

Or next time, I'm not fixing your gear."

"Right, right…" Bai Chen chuckled helplessly.

"Not like I plan to get hit on purpose."

Three hours before the transfer.

Lillie, with the help of James and the maids,

had prepared what could only be described as a mountain of supplies.

Two huge cases, one backpack taller than she was.

"Lillie… what is all this?" Bai Chen asked, eyes twitching.

Lillie began counting on her fingers.

"Three hundred Full Restores, fifty Revives, a hundred Max Repels,

sixty fortified supplements for Nergigante's meals,

sixty days' worth of Pokéfood for the blacksmith,

plus tents, a windproof lighter, shovel, and—"

The list went on and on.

Bai Chen's jaw slackened further with every word.

Then came the kicker—

"Oh! And I packed five kilograms of gold,

in case you need money in the other world."

He nearly fell over.

"...You're sending me hunting, not on vacation!"

By his quick estimation,

the value of those items totaled over five hundred Jameses' worth of salary.

He sighed.

"You've really thought of everything, haven't you?"

Lillie tilted her head innocently.

"Hmm? You think it's too much? Oh wait—!"

She darted off and came back holding—

a Clefairy plush.

"Here! If you can't sleep at night,

you can hug this~"

"S–Stop, stop!"

Bai Chen raised both hands.

The situation was spiraling out of control.

"Let me… pack my own things, please."

He began trimming down the pile—

Thirty Full Restores instead of three hundred, ten Revives for emergencies,

and no Max Repels (what use were they against wyverns?).

He kept the supplements and Pokéfood—those were practical.

The snacks? Gone.Camping gear? Unnecessary.

Monster Hunters had better tools for that.

By the time he was done,

the mountain of luggage had been whittled down to a single heavy backpack.

He even left the five kilos of gold behind.

Sure, in Alola it was valuable—But in the Monster Hunter world?

Barely a tenth of its worth.

"Better to earn it the hard way than sell it cheap,"

He murmured.

Finally, he turned to the sulking Lillie.

She hugged the Clefairy plush to her chest, eyes downcast.

Bai Chen hesitated, then smiled softly. He reached out, took the plush from her hands,

and tucked it into his pack.

"Alright," he said. "This one… has a use. I'll take it."

Lillie's eyes lit up instantly,

her face blooming into a smile once again. Two hours remained before the system transfer.

The countdown to departure had begun.

"Back to the New World, huh…" Bai Chen whispered,

looking toward the open sky.

"Time to hunt again."
