The entire Northern Territory was stirred into chaos by the appearance of Black Dragon King Kasha, muddying the waters of the entire pond.
Some Northern nobles hastily mobilized their armies, responding to the Oram Family's call, preparing to gather forces to deal with potential warfare.
Nobles with other ambitions secretly gathered private armies, plotting their own schemes.
Undercurrents surged in the Northern Territory, with everyone harboring their own thoughts.
In this turbulent situation, San Marino City and Wind Chime City, located on the northernmost edge of the Northern Territory, seemed like forgotten corners of the world.
An unprecedented wave of major infrastructure development and social reform was in full swing.
After half a month, Hill finally returned to San Marino City with over two thousand Mixed-blood Species, having been prepared to abandon the Mixed-blood Species and flee alone if pursued.
As it turned out, the group returned slowly, and the Oram Family seemed to have forgotten them.
Hill's feelings were complex because of this; Karl had easily accomplished things she thought impossible, just as he said he would.
But when she stood outside the city gates, the massive city walls before her, no less imposing than those of Vladimir City, left her dumbfounded.
They were still under construction, with countless laborers diligently laying brick by brick.
The scale was grand, the design intricate; it was as if she had arrived in another world.
On top of the city walls, craftsmen were busy installing various defensive facilities, and below the walls, wide gravel roads were being laid.
Hill found it absurd; in just half a month, it had transformed into something she no longer recognized.
The Mixed-blood Species behind her also looked troubled, the beast-eared girls huddled together, trembling.
To avoid potential pursuers, they had traveled through the forest.
They discovered that the closer they got to San Marino City, the fatter and healthier the Monster Beasts in the surrounding area became.
They had just encountered a pack of Monster Wolves, which even had potbellies, and were too lazy to move when they saw Hill's group.
It seemed they had lost interest in hunting moving prey.
The forest was littered with gnawed bones.
Yet, along the way, they encountered several waves of commoners with their families, heading in this direction.
It was simply preposterous.
Hill had the Mixed-blood Species wait outside the city and went alone to the City Lord's Mansion, where she was stopped by Hera outside the mansion.
"City Lord Aisha is currently in a meeting; please wait here, I will inform her now."
Hera, in her guard uniform, stood tall and straight. As a wolf-girl, she was a head taller than Hill, standing at the entrance of the City Lord's Mansion with a calm, emotionless expression.
Hill narrowed her eyes: "She is the acting City Lord."
She had been out with Karl for a while, and it seemed this city had quietly changed hands.
Hera's expression remained unchanged: "Yes, Lord Hill, do you need me to inform her?"
Hill stared into Hera's eyes for a long moment, then her expression returned to calm: "Yes."
Hera nodded, turned, and entered the City Lord's Mansion. Soon after, she reappeared, gestured for Hill to follow, and led her to the front of the council hall.
"City Lord Aisha is waiting for you inside."
Hill pushed open the door and entered the council hall.
Aisha sat at one end of the long table, her long hair tied in a ponytail, wearing a well-tailored noble shirt, looking capable and elegant.
This was the seat Karl had occupied before.
Hill said nothing superfluous, simply informing Aisha of Karl's arrangements for the Mixed-blood Species.
"I will arrange for them to quickly integrate into San Marino City," Aisha said with a smile. "They will soon become a part of this city."
Hill nodded calmly, said nothing more, and then vanished on the spot.
Aisha watched the spot where Hill disappeared, a playful smile playing on her lips.
After a week of flying, Karl arrived at the Northern Territory border.
Along the way, he encountered several troop movements; the entire Northern Territory was in chaos.
After some inquiries at the border, he finally found the encampment of Black Dragon King Kasha's army, but the sight before him made him frown.
A siege was underway on the ground, with warriors and orcs who had scaled the city walls fighting fiercely, a truly brutal scene.
Karl did not conceal himself; he swooped down from high altitude, instantly causing a stir on the battlefield.
Many warriors and orcs stopped fighting, looking up at the giant dragon that had suddenly appeared on the battlefield.
Karl, however, had no intention of joining the battle; he flew directly to the rear of the Monster Beast Legion, having already spotted the enormous throne.
And on the throne sat the majestic, four-meter-tall Mature beautiful older sister type.
Karl's figure flew across the battlefield like a dark cloud obscuring the sun; soldiers from both attacking and defending sides simultaneously looked up, their gazes following his colossal body.
The defending knights' faces were pale; every giant dragon was a unit capable of changing the tide of battle, and they did not believe this suddenly appearing Black Dragon would be their ally.
Karl ignored the tense atmosphere on the battlefield, showing no intention of attacking, and flew straight towards the rear of the Monster Beast formation.
His high-profile appearance was also a deliberate move to tarnish Black Dragon King Kasha's reputation.
Given his actions of dancing on Grand Duchess Sophie's grave these past few days, this Grand Duchess, knowing he had brazenly flown into Black Dragon King Kasha's camp, would naturally consider him Kasha's subordinate, acting under Kasha's instructions, and attribute all her wrath and hatred to Kasha.
Karl flew over the Monster Beast army, unimpeded, his gaze fixed on the enormous throne not far away.
Kasha sat on the massive throne, a pair of black dragon horns on her head, her golden vertical pupils radiating dominance and majesty, looking down on everything.
Large sections of black armor covered her private areas, and where the formidable black armor did not cover, some snow-white skin was exposed—a near-perfect pallor unlike that of humans.
It formed a stark contrast with the surrounding black, making her both alluring and inviolable.
Especially those truly long legs, crossed together.
Karl estimated that these legs were longer than his two-meter-tall half-dragon form; if Kasha didn't squat down, he truly couldn't reach her.
He had come to Kasha, of course, with the intention of having a dragon-girl; such a powerful individual would undoubtedly provide a high amount of experience points.
When his and Kasha's majestic golden vertical pupils met, he knew that getting with this dragon-girl would be far from easy.
Kasha's vertical pupils swept over Karl's twenty-meter-tall black dragon body; after a flicker of confusion, a playful glint appeared in her eyes.
Karl flew to about a hundred meters in front of Kasha, transforming from his giant dragon form into a half-dragon.
He flapped his wings and landed before Kasha's enormous throne.
Although both were in their half-dragon forms, Kasha's four-meter height made Karl seem like a miniature figure when he stood before her.
Karl looked up at Kasha, noticing a hint of mockery in her eyes.
Though he found it strange, he still followed his original plan, respectfully bowing, his voice deliberately lowered and filled with reverence: "The great name of Black Dragon King Kasha shakes the Northern Territory, and my heart yearns for it. Today, I have specially come to assist Your Grace in jointly eliminating humans, so that our Black Dragon race may once again be great."
Karl knew that giant dragons disliked each other, and overlapping territories would lead to intense battles.
He deliberately placed himself in a very submissive position.
As long as Kasha accepted him, he could justifiably shift Grand Duchess Sophie's hatred onto Kasha.
After listening to Karl's words, Kasha's golden vertical pupils widened, then she burst into laughter, her laughter echoing across the battlefield, wild and uninhibited.
"?"
Karl was bewildered, watching the half-exposed snow-white chest beneath Kasha's black armor sway with her laughter, thinking to himself that her size was truly impressive.
In human terms, it was at least a D cup.
After Kasha finished laughing, her golden vertical pupils fixed on Karl, as if trying to see through him. "Who are you?"
"Huh?" Karl felt a strange sensation in his heart. He, Evil Dragon Karl, was known as a mobile disaster in the Northern Territory, yet this arrogant Black Dragon didn't recognize him.
Or perhaps she knew him but was deliberately trying to intimidate him?
But none of that mattered.
Karl bowed and said, "My name is Karl. If Your Majesty wishes, you may call me by any name. I only wish to follow Lord Kasha."
He deliberately acted subservient.
The more loyal he appeared to Kasha, the more Grand Duchess Sophie would believe that all his actions were at Kasha's behest.
Kasha stared at him with both eyes, and after a long moment, she bared her fangs in a grin: "Good."
Then, she gestured to her side: "Retreat."
A long-haired, fox-eared Mature beautiful older sister type nearby gave Karl a meaningful glance, then respectfully nodded: "As you command, Master."
Following Kasha's order, the Monster Beasts, who had been fighting on the battlefield, quickly separated and receded like a tide.
The various races covered each other, retreating in an orderly fashion, their discipline no less than that of human armies.
On the city walls, the defenders cheered, having once again achieved victory.
Only the defending general looked in the direction Karl had flown, his brow deeply furrowed.
He called to his nearby guard: "How much longer until His Grace's reinforcements arrive?"
"Lord Leona," the guard immediately replied, "Lord White Pheasant is leading three thousand Snow Wolf Cavalry and will arrive tomorrow evening."
Leona looked at the Monster Beast army retreating like a tide, frowning, his mind uneasy.
Black Dragon King Kasha's Monster Beast army was unstoppable, breaking four cities in three days, shaking the Northern Territory, yet they had been held back here by him for over half a month.
Leona believed himself to be superior to those decadent nobles.
But he also didn't think he could stop the Black Dragon King's army.
All of this made him extremely uneasy.
Karl followed Black Dragon King Kasha, and with the Monster Beast army, they passed through a thicket of low bushes and arrived at a magnificent camp.
As far as the eye could see, various tents and makeshift structures were haphazardly yet orderly arranged, exuding the relaxed atmosphere of a Monster Beast army.
But Karl quickly saw the method in the madness.
The camp was backed by a dense forest, forming a natural barrier, and many soldiers chose to rest directly in the forest.
"Interesting."
Karl narrowed his eyes. This location was well-chosen. He had deliberately arrived only one day ahead of the Snow Wolf Legion, precisely to give this Black Dragon King Kasha no time.
But with this camp choice, if the army retreated into the forest, they could effectively resist the Snow Wolf Cavalry, at least avoiding a one-sided slaughter.
He wondered if it was a coincidence or if he had underestimated Black Dragon King Kasha.
Behind him, a pair of alluring eyes watched him; the Fox-folk Mature beautiful older sister type had been observing his reactions.
Karl was soon led by an orc to a temporary house hastily built from thick logs.
The light inside the room was dim.
Karl felt that this room was more like a prison, but it didn't matter; as long as he stayed in Black Dragon King Kasha's camp, his goal was achieved.
He was also content with the leisure.
Meanwhile, inside the massive main tent at the center of the camp.
Kasha waved her hand, dismissing the general, leaving only herself and the graceful Fox-folk Mature beautiful older sister type Furan.
"Master ~" Furan's voice was soft and seductive: "That Duke's vanguard, the Snow Wolf Legion, will arrive tomorrow night. The legion commander, White Pheasant, is Grand Duke Sophie's eldest daughter; she has fought in campaigns with the legion and has considerable prestige among the troops."
"Snow Wolf Legion." Kasha licked her lips, a glint of battle-lust in her eyes: "The foundation of the Oram Family's power in the Northern Territory. Hmph, Furan, I want to annihilate them all here."
Furan chuckled softly: "Master's power is naturally not afraid of those puppies. Victory will surely be yours. However, in our legion's operations, a direct confrontation would still result in many comrades' deaths. Please, Master, bear with it for a moment."
She continued, changing her tone: "Master, I am more concerned about your brother Karl. His behavior today is vastly different from the information I've heard about Evil Dragon Karl."
"Hmph." Kasha let out a contemptuous snort, leaning back, her two-meter-long, straight legs crossed imperiously: "He is Karl. I wouldn't mistake him."
