Chapter 37 - chapter 35

Three hundred Paladins were already standing by in formation, clad in silver-white armor, holding hammers and shields, an air of solemn killing intent permeating the atmosphere.

The Church's Knights were not numerous, but every single one was an elite.

Paladins also possessed a certain healing ability, making them the enemies one least wished to encounter on the battlefield.

Victoria's long hair was tied into a ponytail, giving her a heroic and spirited appearance; her usually mature and charming face now showed only determination.

She stood at the very front of the formation, her knight's spear held high.

"The Goddess of Holy Light will grant us victory! Defeat all enemies that stand before us! Glory belongs to the Goddess!"

"Glory belongs to the Goddess of Holy Light!" Three hundred Paladins shouted in unison, their voices converging into a massive wave of sound.

Victoria once again tightened her grip on her spear and softly murmured to herself, "Chris, hold on."

The Paladins made no attempt to conceal their movement.

They belonged to a heavy armored unit, making concealment impossible. Under Victoria's leadership, they set off in a mighty procession.

Victoria's mature face was clouded with gloom.

With Karl's sudden betrayal, she dared not imagine what kind of torment her daughter was enduring.

Inside the Church's safe house.

"Ah?!" Chris let out a suppressed cry, followed by sounds of splashing water. She covered her face with her arms. "Let... let me down."

"It's not clean yet." Karl reached out from behind, embracing her long legs, like a parent holding a Child.

He had discovered that Chris always seemed to lose herself after being done from behind... Watching Chris's expression of embarrassment, so much so that she wanted to commit suicide, was always amusing to him.

"Enough... enough." Chris felt sore all over. These past few days, she hadn't been spared by Karl, but today he seemed even more excited than usual.

"Don't rush, the night is still long." Karl caressed the black stockings on her jade feet. "Let's change positions. Go put on high heels."

"You..." Chris was speechless and sighed. She didn't understand why Karl was so excited today... Inside the City Lord's Mansion's secret chamber, Misir was listening to a report from a Dark Elf. After he finished, Misir waved him away.

Then she turned to look at Sylvie: "Karl is indeed colluding with Aisha. The Mixed-blood Species have already poured out of the slums, and the Church's people are also taking action. They might have reached some agreement to deal with us together."

Sylvie's brows furrowed. After a moment of thought, she said, "The strong individual who attacked you was Karl; there's no doubt about that. His true intention remains a mystery. Why would he do this? If we cannot discern his real purpose, acting rashly will surely lead us into his trap."

"Damn it." Misir's eyes flashed with anger. "Our clan spent decades recruiting, assassinating, and replacing to control this military fortress. To leave now, I am unwilling!"

"It hasn't come to that yet." Sylvie's expression was calm. "If Karl only wanted to kill us, he wouldn't have waited until now. He must have other motives."

Chapter 55 Chris's Embarrassment

Lady Misir was very wary of Karl. That time, she was forced by Karl from both front and back without feeling anything abnormal.

Sylvie's subsequent examination results further proved that it wasn't just a simple penetration.

Both front and back had multiple frictions, causing muscle tears.

So, without any memory of it, she was played all over by Karl.

This proved that Karl could kill her with ease if he wanted to.

Sylvie caught the change in her expression. This intelligent, dark-skinned Mature beautiful older sister type quietly walked behind Misir and embraced her with open arms.

"I will be by your side."

Sylvie knew that the name Karl had now become a mental demon that Misir found hard to shake off.

"We can wait," Sylvie suggested. "Withdraw the elite City Guards we control and maintain a certain distance. If the situation is not right, we can retreat at any time to ensure our safety."

"Moreover, this may not be the worst outcome. This is all Karl's conspiracy. What does he ultimately want to gain from orchestrating all of this? So he will definitely appear. Let's wait for his stance before making a decision."

Misir was silent for a long time after hearing this, then nodded slightly: "Alright."

This was the safest approach.

To retreat so easily would make her unwilling, given the decades of effort.

Wait for the mysterious and powerful Karl to appear before planning the next step.

Over four thousand people, calling themselves the "New Army," with a strip of cloth tied uniformly on their right arms, shouting to hang the nobles, advanced with surging momentum towards the City Lord's Mansion.

Of course, this was only in the eyes of outsiders.

From a high vantage point, Merlin, in a white dress, with bare feet on the rooftop, didn't understand much about military matters, but she could still tell that this was a disorganized mob.

Though numerous, some held their heads high, while others whispered amongst themselves.

Within the ranks, there were indeed some experienced Adventurers who could form tacit cooperation in small groups.

However, the entire army lacked unified command and tactical deployment; they would scatter at the first encounter with the enemy.

Merlin's gaze finally fell upon the brave Sylvie, who walked at the front. Around her were a few individuals of decent strength.

Sylvie looked at the City Lord's Mansion in the distance, her eyes gleaming. The continuous blows she had recently suffered had left her feeling lost.

Now, she wanted to see the world Karl spoke of, where good people wouldn't be bullied and there was no noble oppression.

Aisha led the Mixed-blood Species troops to a halt. Moving further would mean entering the City Lord's Mansion's territory, and if the enemy had an ambush, they might run headfirst into an encirclement.

The current street was well-connected, allowing for quick reactions in case of crisis, preventing the troops from being blocked.

"Loyi." Aisha called softly, "Have the brothers prepare to meet the enemy here."

"Yes, Lady Aisha." Loyi knew their objective was primarily defensive, and turned to relay the orders to the other captains.

Under the command of Loyi and other captains, two thousand elite troops orderly deployed their formation.

Unlike the four thousand disorganized rabble in front.

The army members each performed their duties, finding the best combat positions, with the buildings along both sides of the street serving as their natural cover.

Aisha surveyed her surroundings, her confidence restored, and she murmured, "Karl, no matter what scheme you use, I will defeat you head-on."

These disorganized masses in front naturally couldn't truly breach the City Lord's Mansion.

She couldn't understand Karl's layout, so she would use the simplest method.

Concentrate forces, giving Karl no chance to defeat them one by one.

Then, break through with sheer force.

As Aisha's Mixed-blood Species troops arrayed their battle formation.

The City Guards outside also began to gather, but their posture was distinctly different from the other two factions. Not only did they not assume a decisive battle stance,

Instead, under the command of their squad leaders, the soldiers gave the impression of being ready to retreat at any moment.

They gazed into the distance at the City Lord's Mansion, yet showed no intention of advancing to provide support.

Within the City Guards' ranks, a group of Dark Elves was particularly striking. Each of them wore leather armor, and judging by the dangerous aura emanating from them, they were all strong individuals.

Although the soldiers were puzzled as to why they had to mingle with Dark Elves, who were at the bottom of the continental hierarchy of contempt,

But seeing the captains and some officers acting as if nothing was amiss,

The soldiers immediately chose to obey.

On the other side, the Paladin legion led by Victoria also halted their advance.

Rabel quickly walked to Victoria's side, reporting Aisha and the City Guards' unusual actions with a grave expression.

"Bishop Victoria, something is amiss. Aisha's troops have already arrayed their formation ahead, seemingly waiting for something."

"While the City Guards are also gathering, they are not moving towards the City Lord's Mansion; instead, they appear to be preparing to retreat."

"There are many Dark Elf scouts among the City Guards, preventing us from approaching them to gather intelligence."

Bishop Victoria's head buzzed after hearing the report.

As a Commander, she had naturally experienced battle and possessed a high level of military acumen.

But everything she was facing now truly baffled her.

These inexplicable troop movements.

Bishop Victoria realized that they possessed crucial intelligence that she did not, which explained their unusual deployments.

"All Knights, stand by!"

She chose the most conservative approach, waiting for the other factions to make the first move.

Four thousand disorganized people, fueled by anger, surged towards the City Lord's Mansion like a tide.

They gazed at the magnificent mansion before them, Karl's words echoing in their ears: these opulent buildings were all built upon the exploitation and oppression of their blood and sweat.

Anger burned in their hearts, their eyes growing redder.

The City Lord's Mansion had guards, but they were only for maintaining order, numbering less than a hundred. Compared to this angry human sea, they were clearly insignificant.

The captain of the guards urgently relayed orders, attempting to summon the City Guards for support, but the distant City Guards were slow to respond.

"Kill! Kill all the nobles! Take back everything that's ours!" Someone in the crowd shouted.

The accumulated fury finally erupted at this moment.

Inside the City Lord's Mansion, battle instantly broke out, the clash of weapons, shouts, and screams intertwining.

Amidst the flying sparks, the guards resisted fiercely, but the overwhelming numerical disparity gradually pushed them into a difficult situation.

In the distance.

Aisha, Loyi, and the others closely watched the battle.

Merlin rushed over, panting, and reported: "The City Defense Army has assembled, but they... they haven't come to rescue the City Lord's Mansion. They're just standing by, and there are many Dark Elves among them."

Loyi's brows furrowed, and she said in a deep voice, "It's a trap, as expected. Karl wants to catch us all in one swoop."

Aisha, however, shook her head firmly: "No, Karl wouldn't design such a simple trap. We'll wait patiently; don't act rashly."

On the other side.

Bishop Victoria looked at her daughter, Chris, who had an innocent expression: "Mother, what exactly happened?"

She was very confused. Karl insisted on showing off in high heels and made her wear them back.

Karl got tired of playing and went to sleep.

Chris, dragging her exhausted body, emerged from the safe house, only to find that the entire world had changed. She also had to endure the strange lubricating sensation inside her high heels while talking to her mother.

Chapter 56 I'm the City Lord?

Chris endured her physical discomfort, keeping her legs together. Karl had poured quite a bit in, but the pantyhose inside her nun's habit covered it, so she didn't have to worry about it leaking out.

However, the muddy feeling inside her high heels mixed with the stockings made her feel very uncomfortable.

If she wasn't careful, the high heels might slip off and fly away.

When she came out of the safe house, the sounds of battle were deafening outside, leaving her completely stunned.

Her mother, standing before her, was also in armor. It had been years since she had seen her mother look so prepared for a major enemy. What on earth had happened?

Victoria looked at her daughter's bewildered expression and noticed a small section of black stocking peeking out from beneath her nun's habit skirt.

And the high heels she was wearing.

She also saw a bit of white liquid seeping out from the opening of the high heel, staining the stocking and making its color darker.

Victoria subtly averted her gaze: "Mr. Karl isn't with you?"

A flash of embarrassment crossed Chris's eyes. Karl had been more excited than usual today, which was why she returned later than usual.

Facing her mother's question, she instinctively felt awkward and changed the subject: "He's resting in the safe house. What's going on at the City Lord's Mansion?"

As she spoke, she pointed towards the City Lord's Mansion in the distance.

The Adventurers, relying on their numerical advantage, had already breached the main gate. With the City Defense Army standing by, the City Lord's Mansion's force of less than a hundred offered little resistance.

Shouts and the clash of weapons rose and fell, a scene of utter chaos.

"The situation is unclear, and the Church has an obligation to protect San Marino City from large-scale unrest." Victoria spoke vaguely.

Her daughter was back..
