A highly angered Bitna went out banging the door...
Both chaewon and Sarang remained in the room
"So tell me what actually happened Sarang, I am asking you individually, so that I would get a clear idea if any of you is lying."
Sarang did not say anything and kept it to herself....
She thought she should did not do anything wrong....
"I know why you are not saying anything, you are probably thinking you did the right thing....but do you really think so that choosing violence would solve it..."
"Maam, she was the one who started it first but I chose to remain quiet when she targeted me but how could I remain quiet when she targeted by my friend, she was giving my friend pain so I thought even she should feel that same pain."
Sarang finally opened her mouth, the maam was quite smart framing her sentence in such a way to lure her to speak.
"HA HA HA....Sarang I did not know you had such a side to you, I have been your class teacher for one year but I did not know you can be so benevolent....
Let me correct you know, you are in school premises and whether it be here or any where else, you should not act on your own, you should always inform the authority responsible, You should have come to me first rather than resort to violence, What would I do if something happened to you as well."
"Maam, thanks for your concern, but I did what I think was right, no one was standing up for my friend and she would have had inflicted more damage to my friend if I had gone to inform you and wait for you to come....
And I think, my classmate did the right thing by calling you rather than being just a spectator like other...while I deal with her
But I think the slap was a bit too much...so you could give me any punishment you wish ..."
Wow, what an answer, justifying and defending her act while apologizing for her mistake...Was Sarang such a person, was she so outspoken...
"Sarang, let me apologize to you as well, as a class teacher I have failed...I did get many complaints regarding bitna and her group's behaviour but I was waiting for a conclusive evidence against her.
But I guess I was very late into action, your slap to bitna reminded me that I should have taken care of this matter before it escalating so much.
Do not worry, a disciplinary committee would be called and action would be taken against her."
"I, Sarang accept your apology maam and I am not at all worried I can take care of such 10 more bitna. Ha ha ha....."
"You, I guess you still did not understand after me giving such a big explanation...leave it to the responsible authority and your punishment is cleaning the classroom after everyone leaves for a whole week..."
"Okay maam, but do not inform my mom about it, I do not want to make her worry."
Sarang's maam nodded and assured her to do so...Sarang left the room.
Sarang has really changed for better and I guess it is the time for her to shine from now on.
"Chaewon come here, and tell me what exactly happened."
Chaewon explained that how Bitna used to trouble sarang all the time since one year because sarang did not used to say anything. No one got involved with sarang beacuse of this and she did not have any friends.
Even we became friends not too long ago as I was a transfer student and she was a lonely , so we became friends immediately and no one knew we were friends....It was sarang's plan to protect me....
But this morning, I was talking to Sarang while entering the classroom and bitna saw me and targeted me, Sarang only came to protect me so do not give her any punishment.
"But, I did not receive any complaint from her.."
"Maam, she always used to remain quiet and be with herself most of the times."
The maam did not believe as the sarang who was talking now did not seem to hold any grudges against her instead was confident enough to stand up for herself and tackle any injustice.
She really did fail as a teacher, but she thought to bring this matter to justice.
"Chaewon do not worry, sarang did not get any punishment but she did receive a duty to do after school. You can leave."
Chaewon opened the door, and opposite it was standing a girl. She ran towards her and hugged her...
"Thanks Sarang for standing up for me."
Sarang smiled at her and they both returned to the class.
All the lectures happened as usual...and were peaceful as Bitna and her group were suspended from school till the matter got resolved.
The last lecture was going to end and the teacher asked...
"Who are the ones allotted to do after school duty?"
Two people raised their hands....
One was Sarang and the other one being a boy.
"Okay the rest of you can leave for the day."
The teacher left the classroom and
CHATTER...CHATTER....CHATTER
"Sarang , do you have to wait back because of me.."
Chaewon felt bad for her and was quite unhappy
"Chaewon, maam has given me this duty not because of you so don't worry, you go home and rest, now that girl won't trouble any of us."
Chaewon was assured by sarang's words and she left for home.
In the classroom..the boy approached Sarang.
"You, listen, should we divide our work so that it gets over fast.?"
"Ya thats a great idea....I will clean the floor you can move the benches to one side."
"Okay...I will get to work now.."
"One more thing, thanks for calling the teacher....if you hadn't the matter would have escalated and even I would have got a more severe punishment."
"No problem, I just did my duty which I would have done irrespective of anyone."
The boy was Jaewon, their class representative.
The work got over faster and both of them left.
"You are going by bus?"
"No, my driver is waiting for me...what about you should I drop you somewhere.?"
"No! we live in totally opposite directions...Ah I mean bus is a much more convenience for me to go back home."
"Okay , bye..I will leave then...."
Sarang left for home in the car and jaewon left too.
Their friendship was about to bloom soon...
At home, Sarang was alone ...eunyoung had gone to supermarket to buy fresh vegetables for Sarang.
"Well, I guess a lot happened at school today...before studying let me just meditate.."
She started with the usual meditating position and started the technique as per that book....
a lot time had passed....

"Ah who is it now, eunyoung was going to come in the evening...
Wait a minute I do not see those golden color spots anymore and most importantly I feel so good, I wish there really was magic I could open the door sitting here...
For example, let me imagine the outer door latch to open completely..

Ah...let me hurry and open the door..
Did I not close the door properly, why is the latch a little lose..
Leave it ..who would it be at this time....
Sarang was astonished....because it was...
"How much time does it take for you to open the door sarang..."
"Mumma, you came back soon? why didn't you take keys with you"
