Chapter 215 - Searching

Shiori? Her biological mother, her biological younger sister, her adopted younger sister, plus more than a dozen partners? And Renako herself—her biological younger sister and seven girlfriends?

The moral compass of this Academy City completely overturned everything she used to believe.

But after calming down and thinking it through carefully, what Renako said was not entirely without reason.

This was never a place that followed human rules.

Her fingertips absentmindedly brushed across the system's icy-blue screen. Unable to suppress her curiosity, she searched for the name Renako had mentioned: Shiori.

The moment she saw Shiori's profile, Shigure Kira understood.

An elf.

That explained it.

Among the many powerful-blooded races of other worlds—vampires, elves, dragons—in order to preserve the nobility of pure bloodlines and the inheritance of power, close-kin unions had long been traditions etched into their very blood.

The boundaries of morality were often redefined in the face of strength and survival.

But... "There are clearly so many beautiful girls here. Why is she so fixated on me?"

Shigure Kira buried her face deeply into her pillow. The soft fabric muffled her complaint, but it could not suppress the irritation rising in her chest.

Unbidden, those crimson eyes of Red-Eyed Kiana surfaced in her mind—cunning like a cat that had stolen cream.

Does she really... like me that much?

The thought had barely formed before Shigure Kira forcibly crushed it. It was not as though she had never rejected her. Clear refusals, subtle evasions—none of them had any effect on Red-Eyed Kiana. It was like striking cotton. The other girl continued doing as she pleased, pressing forward step by step.

There was a duel system in the academy—if you could defeat someone who was pestering you, you could demand they give up completely.

But the problem was, she could not beat Red-Eyed Kiana.

A sense of being cursed by fate weighed heavily on Shigure Kira.

All of her awakened abilities were bound to her voice. They required time to build up, to accumulate power.

And those who knew the details of her abilities would never give her the chance to sing.

Red-Eyed Kiana happened to be the one who understood that best.

Besides, she did not like using her singing voice as a weapon to attack.

As an idol, her voice was meant to bring smiles to everyone—not to take lives.

The next day, at Honkai Academy.

Artificial sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the principal's office, spilling warmly across the pale carpet.

Cecilia wore her usual gentle smile as she looked at Shigure Kira standing before her. "Kira, could you go check on Misfortune with Kiana?"

"What?" Shigure Kira whipped her head around, her gaze colliding with the smiling crimson eyes of Red-Eyed Kiana beside her. Disbelief filled her voice. "Me and her?"

"Mm." Cecilia nodded lightly, a trace of worry flickering in her eyes. "That child ran off to an unknown universe. I sent her messages, but she hasn't replied. I'm afraid she might run into danger."

"I can go alone," Shigure Kira said immediately, instinctively trying to avoid being alone with Red-Eyed Kiana.

"That won't do. Academy rules state that missions like this require at least two people." Cecilia stepped forward half a pace, her hands gently clasped before her. Her eyes were full of trust and appeal. "Please, Kira. Only you can reassure me the most."

Looking into those trusting eyes, the refusal on Shigure Kira's lips was forced back down.

She let out a helpless sigh, resignation lacing her voice. "Alright."

As the two turned and left the office, the door closing softly behind them, the gentle smile on Cecilia's face instantly shifted into a sly grin.

She rested her chin on her hand, gossip sparkling in her eyes. "Kira's been single for so long, and Kiana's so proactive. Maybe this trip will work out? I hope they get along well."

Meanwhile, in the Invincible Universe.

Following the faint energy trail left behind by Misfortune, Red-Eyed Kiana and Shigure Kira appeared out of thin air.

Beneath their feet was not solid ground but the vastness of space, countless meteorites drifting around them. Cold stardust permeated the void.

As far as the eye could see, alien races were locked in fierce combat—creatures of various forms piloting strangely shaped warships. Lasers and energy cannons carved blinding streaks through the darkness. Many aliens, some resembling humans and some nothing like them, fought in close quarters.

The ground was littered with dense piles of alien corpses and shattered spacecraft wreckage—a brutal scene of a space battlefield.

"Th-This is... a space battlefield?" Shigure Kira's pupils shrank as she instinctively prepared for combat.

She had experienced many battles before—but all of them had taken place within planetary environments.

"Mm."

Red-Eyed Kiana nodded. The distortion field of reality surrounding her isolated the vacuum, allowing their voices to transmit clearly. "Be careful. The energy fluctuations here are chaotic."

The moment her words fell, a dazzling golden light suddenly erupted from the center of the battlefield, instantly outshining every warship.

Then, a colossal figure far surpassing the size of a star slowly emerged—it was the one they were searching for: Misfortune.

"Sh-She's gotten so huge?"

Shigure Kira staggered back half a step, staring upward at the body that dwarfed stars. Her heart pounded uncontrollably.

"It's just a technique for manifesting energy," Red-Eyed Kiana said, grabbing Shigure Kira's wrist. "Be careful not to get caught in it."

"What?"

Before Shigure Kira could process the meaning of those words, Misfortune's planet-sized body suddenly moved.

She slowly raised both hands, palms facing each other. A sphere of golden energy rapidly gathered between them. The light grew increasingly intense. The surrounding space-time began to distort slightly. A terrifying pressure of "annihilating everything" swept outward, plunging the entire battlefield into brief silence.

"Evade immediately!"

Allen of the Coalition of Planets was the first to react. His voice transmitted through communication channels to every warship.

The various alien races snapped back to their senses, frantically maneuvering their ships to dodge. But the energy sphere gathered far too quickly, leaving them no time to respond.

When the energy reached its peak, Misfortune lowered her wrists slightly. The compressed power of a stellar core burst forth, transforming into a white beam that pierced through the sea of stars with apocalyptic force.

Wherever the beam passed, meteorites, warships, and even a distant planet were instantly obliterated—erased without leaving behind even a speck of dust.

Those aliens who failed to evade were reduced to ash the instant they touched the beam, not even given the chance to scream.

This strike made no distinction between friend or foe. Even the Vitrum, famed for their speed and maneuverability, could only barely evade it. Once hit, death was equally inevitable.

After the attack, Misfortune did not stop.

She raised one hand above her head. Countless golden spheres of light condensed in her palm once more, scattering outward like a dense barrage—clearly intending to wipe this star system clean.

At that critical moment, a calm voice suddenly echoed within her consciousness. "If you continue, you will disrupt the space-time balance of the entire universe."

Misfortune's movements abruptly halted. Within her sea of consciousness appeared a tentacled blue higher-dimensional being, faint space-time fluctuations radiating from its body.

"You intend to stop me?" Her voice carried icy pressure, the question itself causing ripples in the surrounding fabric of space-time.

"We are merely maintaining space-time equilibrium." The tentacled being's form shifted slowly, its voice remaining calm and steady. "We have been observing you."

"Observing me?"

"Yes." The blue being's tendrils swayed lightly. "We exist beyond time and can see everything that has already occurred within this universe. But you beings from other worlds have introduced countless unknown variables into the predetermined trajectory of space-time. We are curious what kind of changes you will bring to this universe."

"I'm not interested in hearing this," Misfortune replied.

"What about this, then?"

As its words fell, the tentacled blue being suddenly transformed into a blue-haired young girl. Her skin was fair as snow, her eyes clear as the deep sea. Even her voice became sweet and soft, carrying a hint of playful charm.

Misfortune's crimson eyes narrowed slightly. "Go on."

In the real universe, the slaughter on the battlefield had long since ceased.

All the aliens stared upward at the colossal figure that surpassed stars.

After a moment, Misfortune slowly lowered her raised hand. The golden spheres in her palm quietly dissipated.

Her voice transmitted across the entire sea of stars through telepathy, carrying a trace of casual indifference. "Our little game ends here."

"A game?" An alien's voice trembled with fury and disbelief. "So many have died, and in your eyes it was just a game?"

Misfortune did not respond to the accusation. She simply raised her hand and gave a light wave, soft blue light shimmering in her palm.

In the next second, the twisted fabric of space-time began to reverse. Shattered warships, scattered corpses, destroyed planets—all of it rapidly restored under that power, as though the brutal battle that had just occurred had never happened at all.
