Chapter 211 - Calamity

Another extinction route?!

Mobius lightly rubbed her fingertips together, her gaze drifting to Misfortune at her side.

In the world of the Parasytes, there were only two dead ends at the finale—either humanity perished, or humans and Parasytes annihilated each other.

In this universe, the moment they arrived, the humans of the blue planet were ushered into total catastrophe.

A fate of world-destroying calamity?!

The thought had just flashed through her mind when Misfortune sharply caught her glance. Turning her head, a pure, innocent smile bloomed at the corner of her lips. "Grandma, what are you thinking about?"

At her words, everyone turned in unison to look at Mobius, curiosity filling their eyes.

"Nothing," Mobius replied evenly. "Just recalling something insignificant."

"Insignificant?" Saint Kallen couldn't help but say. "Why do I feel like it's something very important?"

"Whether it's important is for me to decide." Mobius shot her a sidelong glance, then looked toward Wesker with faint amusement in her tone. "So this Kallen of yours is just going to stay a mascot forever?"

Wesker shrugged. "We haven't received clear instructions from above. We can only let things take their course."

Saint Kallen looked completely baffled and muttered instinctively, "Did... did I say something wrong?"

Mobius took out a vial of glowing blue reagent from her sleeve and twirled it between her fingers. "I have a drug here that enhances cognitive ability. Want to try it?"

"Something like NTZ-48?" Red Queen suddenly spoke.

Mobius arched a brow. "Oh? You have it too?"

Red Queen nodded. "Mm. The side effects have been optimized." She turned to Kallen. "Do you want to try?"

Su hurriedly asked from the side, "What are the side effects of this drug?"

"If an individual already possesses exceptional intelligence, after taking it they may see through everything too clearly, begin to believe nothing has meaning, and collapse into apathy," Mobius paused, then added, "But in her case, that probably won't be an issue."

"..."

Saint Kallen's cheeks flushed instantly. She had clearly been insulted as an idiot again!

Pouting angrily, she snatched the vial from Mobius and tilted her head back, draining it in one gulp.

In the span of a breath, her previously muddled mind felt as though it had been split open by a thunderbolt. Countless fragments of information surged in like a tide, only to be sorted into perfect order in an instant.

She rapidly integrated the clues she already knew and quickly grasped the crux—if the conflict between the Viltrumites and the Coalition of Planets was not resolved first, then even if Earth were restarted and humanity revived, the Coalition of Planets would simply deploy the virus again.

And the fastest solution was eradication.

The Viltrum Empire worshiped strength above all, expanding its power by conquering other planets, plundering resources, and assimilating or exterminating weaker races.

As long as they were completely eliminated, this conflict would finally end.

Countless simulations flashed through her mind at high speed. In the end, every path pointed to the same destination—ending everything through force.

Saint Kallen stood there blankly. Her former obsessions with "honor" and "protection" suddenly seemed pale and laughable.

The moment that thought settled, a violent wave of dizziness struck. Darkness swallowed her vision and she fell backward stiffly.

Hua reacted instantly, catching her limp body securely.

Mobius looked at Red Queen. "Why did you knock her out?"

"Her brain was overclocking. She couldn't control her own thoughts," Red Queen replied calmly. "If we didn't stop her, her psyche would have suffered damage."

Mobius let out a low chuckle, her eyes deep. "Sometimes, seeing too clearly isn't necessarily a good thing."

Mobius said, "As for the Viltrumites and the Coalition of Planets, let my granddaughter handle it. What do you all think?"

"Agreed," Red Queen answered first.

Wesker nodded. "No objections."

With the two of them expressing their stance, the rest remained silent.

They all understood that Mobius had never truly been asking them.

At that moment, Misfortune's figure drifted like a ghost to stand before Thragg, her voice tinged with playful interest. "Do you want revenge?"

Now that humanity on the blue planet had perished and the Viltrum Empire itself teetered on the brink of extinction—

Thragg lifted his eyes. A trace of ferocity flashed within them. "You're willing to help me?"

"I admire your will to conquer." Misfortune's lips curled upward into something almost demonic. "Come with me."

Before her words fully fell, her will stirred. The two vanished from where they stood. In the next instant, they were already above Planet Viltrum.

She raised her hand toward the orbital ring formed from the corpses of those who had died to the Scourge Virus. A red beam shot from her fingertip.

In an instant, the silent ring trembled violently. Countless long-cold Viltrumite bodies slowly opened their eyes.

"I hope you can put on a performance interesting enough for me upon this universe's stage—" Misfortune's voice carried idle amusement. "Or else die in a blaze of glory."

The Viltrum Empire was restored in a single stroke to its peak state before the Scourge Virus outbreak.

After regrouping, the revived Viltrumites departed in waves toward various star systems, seeking vengeance against the Coalition of Planets.

War was ignited once more.

Without high-end combat power to support them, the Coalition of Planets had no means to withstand the Viltrumites' frenzied revenge. They could only go into hiding.

While scrambling to evade pursuit, they desperately investigated—how had those Viltrumites, who had clearly died from the Scourge Virus, returned to life?

Near Planet Viltrum, a one-eyed man was captured alive.

Allen's hands were locked in specially designed restraints as he knelt on the cold ground.

He slowly lifted his head, his gaze colliding with a pair of crimson eyes.

The mysterious existence capable of reviving the dead.

"You let yourself be captured on purpose. Aren't you afraid they'll just beat you to death?"

Misfortune reclined lazily against an ornate European-style throne. Crimson cushions and gilded trim intertwined in extravagant and eerie luxury.

Her posture was relaxed. Her long hair, fading from violet to black, cascaded like ink. Several strands fell across her cheeks, making her eyes appear even deeper.

Allen wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. There was no fear on his face. Instead, a teasing smile appeared. "I couldn't infiltrate, so getting captured is a shortcut. To see you in person, that bit of risk is nothing."

Before he finished speaking, a Viltrumite warrior at his side swung a heavy punch straight into his face.

Allen let out a muffled grunt as blood spilled from his lips.

"Your physical potential far surpasses that of ordinary Viltrumites," Misfortune said indifferently, her tone unreadable. "If you keep resurrecting at the brink of death, your strength will soon surpass Thragg's."

"How do you know that?"

Even among the Coalition of Planets's upper ranks, few knew of his near-death evolution.

"If I want to know something, I will know it."

"Then can you tell me why you revived these Viltrumites?"

"Why should I tell you?" Misfortune glanced at him coolly.

"Fair enough. Then... is there anything you're willing to tell me?"

Misfortune smiled and said something that left everyone present stunned.

"I can tell you a method to easily kill Viltrumites."

"?!"

Allen and the three Viltrumite warriors all stared at her in disbelief.

"It's simple," Misfortune said casually. "Throw them into a star."

"..."

Throw Viltrumites into a star?

That was simple?!

Everyone present twitched at the corners of their mouths, speechless.

At that moment, as if remembering something, Misfortune lightly added, "Oh right. Your assassination succeeded."

"What?"

Allen frowned.

"Three million light-years away," Misfortune's gaze seemed to pierce through spacetime, landing upon a planet in a distant galaxy. "That white lion-looking fellow has already killed Thragg."

From her higher-dimensional perspective, she had seen Thragg grappling in hand-to-hand combat with the white leonine warrior on a planet, only to have his organs torn out and die.

Tsk. That was somewhat unexpected.
