Chapter 175: Using Toneri as an Incubator? Departure for Sunagakure
Sky Fortress, Deck.
As always, whenever Konan went out, Kameda stood like a sculpture, bowing and waiting.
The sky had turned completely dark.
Lights were arranged all over the deck—on the lawns, green trees, and even along the canal running from front to back. It was clearly carefully laid out. The lights twinkled, soft and not dim.
Honoka, Shion, Hinata, Ryuzetsu, and Samui sat in the pavilion, chatting in small groups.
Whoosh!
Just then, Konan's figure suddenly appeared on one side of the deck. Alex, lying on her shoulder, very nimbly climbed the peak and finally shrunk in, nestling into the most comfortable spot.
Toneri Otsutsuki stood blankly behind her. His spiritual body had been completely locked down by Alex using Sealing Jutsu combined with the Yamanaka clan's secret art. Only a wisp of consciousness remained, like a puppet, able to simply execute commands. He also used the Five Elements Seal to seal all the Chakra in Toneri's body. Restricting him like this for now; arrangements would be made later.
"Lady Konan." Kameda jumped over immediately, eagerly taking juice from the wooden bucket in front of him. "You've worked hard on your outing. This is apple juice I've kept on ice, please enjoy."
"You did a good job," Konan took the juice, offering a word of encouragement.
After all, finding the Moon Passage so quickly allowed her to obtain the Tenseigan's power, so he deserved credit.
Hearing the praise, Kameda was instantly elated, his eyes full of joy, his chubby face flushed with excitement. "Lady Konan, this is all part of my duty."
Konan finished the juice, and Kameda immediately took the empty cup.
Controlled by her, Toneri walked to Kameda's side. "Take him down and settle him in properly. Just feed him on time every day."
"Yes." Kameda accepted the order in a low voice. glancing at the blank-faced Toneri but asking no questions. "Then, Lady Konan, should we serve the food now? The giant crab you teleported back has been prepared."
Konan nodded in agreement. Having gone to the Moon to work without eating dinner, she was indeed a bit hungry. And that giant crab counted as a top-tier ingredient; Kameda had surely prepared it well.
She walked toward the pavilion. Kameda grabbed Toneri's right hand. "Follow me."
Toneri obediently let him pull him off the deck.
"Lady Konan!" Honoka and the other four women stood up to greet her, their eyes full of joy. However, they glanced behind her occasionally, puzzled as to why they didn't see Lord Alex, who always liked to tease them.
Alex didn't show himself, nestling comfortably in Konan's chest. His gaze swept over the five women one by one, finally resting on Hinata. Or more accurately, on her Byakugan.
A thought gradually rose in his mind.
Hinata was known as the "Byakugan Princess". Since Toneri could awaken the Tenseigan by transplanting Hanabi's eyes, then Hinata's should naturally work too.
Perhaps he could use Toneri as a nursery, transplanting Hinata's eyes into him. Borrowing his body and Otsutsuki Chakra to open the Tenseigan, then transplanting them back.
In the original story, after Hanabi's eyes were transplanted back, although they reverted to the Byakugan state, they had opened the Tenseigan after all. With a few more studies, they should be able to maintain the Tenseigan. Rather than controlling an untrustworthy Toneri with a Tenseigan, it was better to let Hinata, whom he knew inside out, possess the Tenseigan.
"Crab is served!!" Kameda walked over with a huge serving board, his face full of smiles.
Before he got close, the scent of fresh seafood hit their noses. He placed the board on the stone table. Arm-thick crab legs were cut into equal lengths, stacked neatly, with the shells already sliced open, revealing the reddish crab meat inside.
"Lady Konan," Kameda introduced. "That crab was too big. These are just two of the legs. And they are the most tender parts. As for the body meat, it's tougher and a bit fishy, so I didn't cook it."
Konan looked at the crab sticks and crab roe on the table with a satisfied expression, waving her hand. "You arranged it well. Arrange for the people below to eat that crab; don't leave it for too long."
Seafood needed to be eaten 'fresh'. Tasting the most tender parts was enough for her. If she, Hinata, Shion, and the others really had to finish that huge crab, who knew how long it would take.
"You all did well on this search mission. Remember to distribute the relevant rewards."
"Yes." Kameda's eyes glistened with tears as he bowed quickly. "On their behalf, I thank Lady Konan for her grace!"
Sigh... Lady Konan treats us so well, how can we repay this kindness...
Kameda silently wiped the corner of his eye and retreated quietly.
"Eat." Konan sat down, picking up a crab leg first. With a slight pick, the tender, smooth crab meat came out of the shell. A light taste filled her taste buds with a soft, fresh flavor. It was indeed a top-tier seafood ingredient. Kameda's control of the heat was excellent.
"Let's eat!" Seeing Konan start, Honoka called out, also picking up a crab leg to gorge herself. Hinata, Shion, and the others followed close behind, enjoying this rare delicious crab.
.....
The next morning.
Konan stood at the edge of the deck, looking at the rolling sea of clouds around her.
"Kameda."
"This subordinate is here." Kameda stood behind her, bowing slightly.
"After I leave, the Sky Fortress will stop in the sea of clouds. Keep the barrier open at all times and wait for my return."
She was heading to Roran to use the Dragon Vein to travel through the past and future, collecting the Tailed Beasts of the parallel world. She didn't know when she would return. currently, Obito, Black Zetsu, and Isshiki Otsutsuki were nowhere to be seen. Although the Sky Fortress had protective barriers and mimicry concealment, it was safer and more secure to submerge into the sea of clouds.
"Yes!" Kameda's face turned solemn. "I will strictly follow Lady Konan's orders, keeping the Sky Fortress in a silent state. No personnel will go out, eliminating any risk of exposure."
With the fortress's current supplies, they could last at least a month without needing to go down for replenishment.
"Good." Konan nodded.
With matters explained clearly, she stepped out, falling from the Sky Fortress. Her wings flapped, and she vanished into the clouds at high speed.
Target—Roran, Dragon Vein!
But first, a detour to Sunagakure to obtain Roran's location. Otherwise, it would be hard to find the destroyed Roran in the boundless desert.
Alex pressed against Konan's cheek, looking in the direction of Sunagakure.
Kazekage Gaara was still attending the Five Kage Summit in the Land of Iron. There probably wasn't even a single Kage-level powerhouse in Sunagakure right now; rummaging for information would present zero difficulty. Incidentally, he would collect Sunagakure's Ninjutsu for his collection.
It was one of the Five Great Ninja Villages after all; there had to be some good stuff, right...?
