Chapter 3 - Awakening Of The Celestial System

Levi looked up at his mom's big belly from where he sat on the floor.

"By my calculations she should be due in some months." Levi nodded his head in observation as he placed his feeding bottle aside.

Three years had gone by since he was accepted into the Kane family.

Life had been quite normal—he loved every bit of it. His mom was really caring, and his dad worked so hard every day. What a perfect family, Levi often thought.

"Well, it looks like she's getting on with the baby well," Levi thought with a smile.

"But actually I hope whoever it is doesn't cause much headache," he said, brushing the thought aside.

Mia noticed Levi's thoughtful gaze fixed on her belly.

She smiled lightly and picked him up from the floor.

As she checked his diapers.

After a while, Draven suddenly burst into the house, panting. He sat down beside Mia, clutching his hands tightly, his face showing clear signs of terror.

"What's the matter, dear?" Mia stopped mid-tickle and leaned forward, her smile fading into concern.

"The dark mages have struck again," Draven said, his voice low.

"Wait, what? That's really bad," Mia said as she quickly sat down beside him, worry filling her face.

"Yeah, it's terrible. I just can't understand why they keep attacking commoners. Nobles are much stronger and have better magic—why not go after them?" Draven said, frustration evident in his voice as he gestured wildly.

"And the nobles—what are they doing about it? Didn't they help fight back? If not, I see no point in all those academies they keep building," Mia replied, her earlier warmth completely gone.

"That's the thing," Draven said bitterly. "They aren't as strong as the dark mages anymore. It's pathetic. The academies keep failing to produce capable mages."

"That's quite strange," Mia murmured thoughtfully. "Aren't most dark mages banished nobles?"

"They are," Draven said with a sigh. "But they've learned and improved fast—too fast."

Mia moved closer to him, sensing there was more to this than he was saying.

"You came home early… I hope—" She paused, her eyes widening slightly.

"Well, yeah. We were hit," Draven admitted bitterly. "All the nobles sent to help were slaughtered. The dark mages didn't spare anyone. The attack lasted all through last night until this morning. I was caught in the middle of it and had to surrender all my goods and money."

Draven was a farmer—not rich, but his business was enough to support their family. Now, he'd been set back badly.

"This is probably a world of mages and dragons, and the dark mages should be the problem of the world." Levi began to ponder the possibilities as Mia and Draven continued their conversation.

"Does this mean we could be next?" Mia asked as she set Levi gently on the floor, worry spreading across her face.

"I'm really sorry, dear. It's just a setback. We'll bounce back stronger," she said softly, rubbing Draven's back to comfort him.

"I hope we're not next. Still, I can't understand why they're hunting commoners lately," Draven muttered, trying to pull himself together.

The word "hunting" suddenly stirred memories in Levi's mind.

Levi's mind became foggy at first but gradually

His mind began to stir wildly as he began to recall a lot of key moments in his first life.

"Wait… I remember now," he voiced slowly as flashes of his past life surfaced.

He had been a demon hunter—one of the top five. He hunted demons in cursed dungeons, saving humanity whenever he could. He had even faced the Dungeon Creator, the one who unleashed nightmares upon the world.

But he couldn't recall how he died.

"If I was that important in my past life, then how did I even die?" Levi wondered, glancing at Mia and Draven, who were still talking about how weak the academies had become.

"But if I were really a hunter, then why am I here? Who reincarnated me?" Levi began to think deeply when all of a sudden.

[Congratulations, you have awakened the Celestial System.]

Levi first ignored the voice in his head as he began to think of other pressing matters.

You're not imagining things. You can ask whatever it is you wish to know. I am at your service.]

"A system," Levi thought calmly, though he was a little surprised at its abrupt

"But why is this system here? Who sent it, or is it normal to awaken one in this world?

[Yes, it is normal to awaken systems, but I am a gift to you by the celestial god, and to answer one of your most pending questions, you were one of the last men standing in the complete breakout of all demon dungeons in your world. Your world had been destroyed, but you fought hard.

"What on earth? That's quite bad," Levi thought sadly as his memory resurfaced.

He remembered sacrificing his life just to take out the final boss of the Dimensional Dungeon. He expected that to do the trick—he thought he had saved them.

But it was a worthless sacrifice. Levi shook his head, disheartened.

[Don't be disheartened; we have much to achieve, and at least a second chance for you.]

"What second chance? I don't want to be involved in the god politics of this world." Levi sighed deeply.

You were reincarnated to save this world, and I am a gift from the God who brought you here. After searching the galaxy endlessly, he found you.

"Spare me that nonsense; I have nothing to gain. Like I said, I am not interested."

That's the thing; it's for a price. Please consider this: if you are able to complete the task, the Celestial God will send you back in time to just before your world was destroyed, giving you the ability to save it.

Levi's eyes widened in disbelief. If that was true, he almost certainly had to agree.

[The decision is all yours.]

After thinking a little Levi finally nodded in agreement.

[good now here is your stats when ever you need just call out system]

Levi nodded as a big bright blue screen appeared before him
