Chapter 2 - Divine Collision

Overwhelmed and heartbroken, Ella ran from the house into the pouring rain. Tears blurring her vision, she had no direction, only the pain and confusion guiding her steps. Almost colliding with a luxurious car, she barely avoided disaster as the driver slammed the brakes just in time. Inside the vehicle sat the heir to one of the city's wealthiest families, his name, Adrian Romans. He got out of the car to see who it was, but Ella ran in fright. He didn't see her face, only the outline of her figure as she ran past. The sight of her soaked blonde hair sent a strange, unfamiliar pain through him, a tug in his heart he couldn't explain.

The car sped towards the mansion, followed closely by three other cars, carrying his bodyguard. Inside the villa, maids assembled, carrying flowers and preparing the grand reception for his welcoming. He had just returned from the United Kingdom for studies. The mansion gleamed with bright lights, every detail meticulously arranged. The heir was greeted by his grandmother, Madame Emery Roman, and his mother, Mrs. Pamela Roman and other family members. Amongst them, a young woman approached, carrying a bouquet of roses. She was Jeila thomas, Adrian Roman's first love in high school.

But the memory of her betrayal had hardened his heart. Years ago, he had discovered that she had been sleeping with his servant on the day he planned to propose. Though he had never revealed the secret, he had never forgiven her. His mother, Pamela Roman, had once been charmed by the first love's beauty and hoped he would marry her. But his grandmother opposed it. Now, as the first love, Jayla Thomas, stepped forward with a bouquet of roses, he ignored her, walking past towards his room, his grandmother indifferent, let the moment pass. He declared that he no longer wanted to see such trash in his presence. He ordered the maid to clean up and trash the bouquet and had the bodyguards escort the first love away. His mother, Pamela Roman, silently heartbroken, didn't protest, knowing it was not best to upset her son, who had just arrived. Quietly, she instructed the young woman to leave.

The heir, Adrian Roman, returned to his room, but his thoughts wouldn't let him rest. He couldn't stop thinking about the mysterious woman he had seen that night. He hadn't seen her face yet, something about her drew him in. He remembered her wet long blonde hair and the black silhouette of her figure as she fled. A strange restlessness settled in him. He couldn't shake the feeling that he was somehow connected to her. Who could she be, he wondered, turning over the image in his mind again and again.

Meanwhile, Ella ran away without looking back. She didn't want anyone to see her bruised face and teary eyes. Darkness surrounded her as she had no sense of direction. As she turned down an empty street, three tugs drawn by her movements noticed her. Their intentions were clear and threatening. Panic surged through her. She ran blindly, the pounding of her heart echoing in her ears. The night turned colder, and at the same time, the heir, Adrian Roman, was leaving to meet an old friend for drinks. Faith intervened. He didn't see her face, but the outline of her figure was unmistakable. She was terrified, fleeing from the danger, and something in desperation tugged at his instinct.

Before he could act, the three tugs closed in on Ella. Just as she braced herself for the worst, a hand shot out and struck one of the tugs with incredible force.it was a drains hand Chaos erupted as he fought back, beating the tugs until they fled into the shadows. But when the scuffle ended, Ella was gone. Panic flared in him as he searched frantically, scanning the dark streets. He finally spotted her huddled with her face buried in her hand. He offered her a handkerchief as a gesture of reassurance. Slowly, she looked up. Their eyes met, locking in a silent moment. He gently brushed her wet hair from her face, asking if she needed help, but Ella couldn't respond. Words failed her. Overwhelmed by fear and exhaustion, she turned and ran away again.

The first love, Jayla Thomas, who sat in her car, watching silently, observing how concerned and affectionate Adrian was with this strange woman, jealousy ran through her veins. The heir Adrian Romans, torn between chasing Ella and fulfilling his plans, watched her retreating figure disappear into the night. Finally, he sighed, resigned, and climbed back onto his car. His phone rang, his friend wondering why he was late, but the image of ella fleeing from him remained in his mind.

Rose Lucas, the daughter of the Lucas family, had always been showered with affection from her father. Yet, she had never felt the love of her mother. Whatever Rose desired, her mother, Mrs. Isabella Lucas, would reserve for her younger daughter, Camilla Lucas. Although Mrs. Isabella Lucas did not have any reason to hate Rose, she still didn't show her any affection. Intentionally ignoring her while showering her younger daughter with affection, Rose became caught in the crossfire.

Rose's beauty was undeniable, surpassing even that of her sister, Camilla Lucas, and she received admiration wherever she went. Although the Lucas family wasn't the wealthiest, they were still financially blessed and carried themselves with grace and refinement. Her father, Mr. Martin Lucas, decided to send Rose to college, but her mother insisted she attend a prestigious study camp first to prove her worthiness of education. Rose excelled in every task she was given, yet her mother, Isabel Lucas, always showed her preferences towards her sister, Camilla Lucas. Despite her striking looks, she carried herself modestly, and her father always made sure she is never lacking in anything.

A brilliant and sharp-minded young woman, Rose was destined for influence. Her father, Martin Lucas, hoped to arrange a match between her and the tall, prominent business tycoon. When Mrs. Lucas learned of this plan, she cunningly interfered. She switched Rose's schedules with Camilla's, forcing her younger daughter to meet the fiancé, while Rose was tasked with presenting a crucial business proposal.

Rose arrived at the office unprepared, having only learned of the meeting that evening. Not wanting to disappoint her father, she improvised, researching on Drive and quickly formulating an idea. The tycoon in question, known for his ruthlessness in business, had long been reputed for a man who wasted neither time nor resources. He refused to sign any deal unless it was flawless. Rose arrived slightly late, but as she stepped up to present herself, she apologized with poise. When Mr. Richard, the tycoon, began to comment on wasted time, he looked up and froze. Her beauty captivated him, seizing his attention entirely. He barely listened to her words, absorbed instead by her presence. When the co-partners inquired about his opinion on the proposal, he gave it his approval, stating it was excellent. Though the truth he had paid little attention, he remained entranced by Rose's beauty, unable to focus on anything else.

Mr. Martin Lucas had traveled out of the city on urgent business, instructing Carmela Lucas to handle the office dealings and present the proposal to the tycoon. Mrs. Isabella Lucas saw this as an opportunity to manipulate the situation and cleverly switch the girls' roles.

Due to Mr. Richard Wilson's tight schedule and pressing business engagements, he could not attend the dates his family had arranged with his supposed fiancée. Instead, he sent his assistant in his place. Mr. Isaac Lewis was the assistant to Mr. Richard, and arriving at the date, he took Mr. Richard's identity as instructed by Mr. Richard. Camilla Lucas, unaware of the switch, threw herself at the assistant, taking him for the man she was supposed to meet.
