Chapter 2 - The Eye of Judgment Awakens

"The Eye of Judgment… Authority of Judgment… What are they?"

Qin Feng frowned slightly, confusion flashing through his gaze.

He closed his eyes.

Darkness enveloped him; cold, infinite, and ancient. Within that darkness, he felt something staring back.

A gaze older than time itself. An eye that saw through heaven and earth.

And then, lines of light began to take form before his eyes, ancient yet clear, glowing softly in the language of Great Xia.

[Eye of Judgment (Activated)]

[Unique Attribute: Authority of Judgment]

[Authority of Judgment: The most ancient and true primordial authority in the universe. Its power transcends all Rules and Order.]

[Note: You lack Divinity; thus, the authority cannot yet be actively used. Passive effect remains operational.]

[Passive Effect: Upon entering the God Forsaken Game, you will automatically receive the highest-grade talent.]

"Primordial Authority?, Power surpassing Rules and Order?!"

Qin Feng's breath caught.

Rules and Order — those were the ultimate powers of existence within the God Forsaken Game!

In his past life, nine years after the Game's descent, only a handful of people had even glimpsed that realm. Some had reached the "Order Land," touching fragments of higher laws… yet none on Earth had ever mastered true Order Power.

And now—He held something that surpassed even that.

The Primordial Authority.

Qin Feng's pulse thundered in his ears.

He clenched his fists, trembling slightly, unable to contain the excitement spreading through him.

"Even without Divinity, I can still use its passive effect… to automatically gain the highest-grade talent?

Then this… this is invincible!"

His lips curled into a rare, fierce smile.

He recalled the ranking tiers of the Game,

Inferior, Normal, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Diamond, Epic, Legendary, Mythical, Ancient, and finally—Immortal-grade.

In his previous life, he had possessed an Emerald-grade talent, already among the top hundred globally. But now…

"Emerald was the seventh tier…" he whispered. "If this passive truly gives me the highest grade, then does that mean… Immortal-grade?"

Even the thought made his mind buzz. With Immortal-grade talent, Qin Feng could crush his former self like an insect.

He reached under his pillow, retrieving his phone. The digital clock read 8:00 AM.

"The same moment," he murmured. "The moment the God Forsaken Game first descended."

A bitter smile tugged at his lips.

"In my last life, I was late to work, got scolded by my boss, and didn't even realise the world had changed until noon. "I wasted half a day… then ran to the university to find Qin Xiaoyou to apologise." He scoffed softly. "After hours of arguing, we entered the game together, when half the world had already taken the lead."

That single delay had cost him countless opportunities.

This time would be different.

"From eight o'clock onward," he recalled, "Any adult who falls asleep will have their consciousness drawn into the Land Abandoned by Gods, entering the Game."

"Their physical body remains in reality, visible yet untouchable, existing between worlds. An ethereal shell."

Because of this, no one initially believed the Game was real until they saw with their own eyes how bodies turned transparent, how sleepers vanished into light.

By the time the world realised the truth, it was too late. The descent had already begun.

"I didn't expect my rebirth to land me at the exact moment of the Game's arrival."

His eyes sharpened.

"Perfect."

He opened his bedside drawer and took out a small bottle of prescription sleeping pills. Years of insomnia had left him prepared.

"I'll enter now. No hesitation, no distractions."

He swallowed the pills and lay down, heart steady, mind cold. As his breathing slowed, his last thought before sleep was clear and sharp:

"This time, I'll take everything."

Jianghai University

Autumn leaves swept along the stone paths as students hurried to morning classes, laughter echoing faintly through the air.

Among them walked a girl in a white dress, hair flowing like silk — Qin Xiaoyou.

Beside her, a short-haired girl asked curiously, "Xiaoyou, are you really not going to call your brother to apologise? We skipped the exam yesterday to go to Song Fei's concert… he must be furious."

Qin Xiaoyou's lips curved. "Apologise? For what? He's not even my real brother. Why should he control my life? He's way too nosy."

Her friend sighed. "Still, he's been so good to you. He buys you everything, takes care of you… I'd kill to have a brother like that."

Xiaoyou shrugged, tone indifferent. "I already have most of my parents' inheritance. Even without him, I'd live just fine."

She walked on, unaware that the brother she dismissed so casually had already stepped beyond the point of no return. Unaware that fate had turned its wheel once again, and this time, he wouldn't come back for her.

Meanwhile, across the world, strange things were already being shared online. Videos showed sleeping people whose bodies turned faintly ghostlike, untouchable.

Confusion spread. Fear followed. But no one yet knew what awaited those who slept.

In a few short hours, humanity would learn that something beyond their comprehension had come into their lives, into their world.

Qin Feng's breathing deepened. His consciousness sank, drawn into a vast, endless darkness.

"It's this place again…" he murmured, voice echoing in the void.

Around him, there was no ground, no sky, only a sea of darkness.

Then, from the void, light emerged. Lines of glowing Great Xia text floated before him, ancient and divine.

[Welcome to the God Forsaken Game]

[You are entering: The Land Abandoned by Gods]

[Please select your Class]

[Upon selection, you will receive a random talent compatible with your Class. Good luck.]

The light converged into a massive spinning wheel, turning slowly before his eyes. On its rim gleamed countless symbols — Warrior, Mage, Priest, Archer, Assassin… and more.

He remembered. In his past life, he had chosen Warrior for defence, to protect Qin Xiaoyou.

"Warriors aren't weak, but their speed is lacking. Too heavy. Too slow. And this time… I'm walking the path alone."

He smiled faintly.

"Since I already have the highest-grade talent, whatever Class I choose will be strong."

His gaze fell upon a faint, flickering option near the bottom of the wheel;

[Random Class — grants a small chance to unlock a Hidden Class.]

He didn't hesitate.

"Let's gamble."

"Maybe this time, I'll draw something even the gods envy."

The wheel began to spin,

And Light itself trembled, for a Shadow was rising.
