The next day was filled with things to do.
Rebuilding the town, clearing out unsanitary things, bodies of monsters, and bringing back hope to the people of bark town.
Chase was worried about exactly none of that However, as he was resting in his spirit sea.
It was different now, for some reason. It took the shape of an infinite garden, flower petals occasionally obscuring his vision.
He was sitting, staring at a weird purple sky. As Jasmine sat next to him, she was smiling.
She seemed happier than normal.
"What's got you in such a good mood?"
Chase asked, allowing her to lean on him.
"You'll learn that later. For now, you seem to be holding up just fine mentally."
"Mostly. I just really want to know just how hard the road ahead will be. Donny almost died, and I feel Vantriel gained more control over my body."
Sighing, Jasmine moved away. "I'm sorry for rushing you, but we didn't have time. For now you need to enjoy the peace you will have."
Turning to look at her, he frowned. "I feel like it's just a little hollow without you there. —OW!" Punching him on the shoulder to snap him out of his delusion was step one.
"Every victory is a full one. Most people didn't win at all. Listen to me and appreciate now. Because no matter what happens it's definitely gonna get worse before it gets better."
"Alright I get it, wise one." Chase put his hands up. Pushing him into some flowers, jasmine stood up, smiling. "I'm trying to be serious jerk."
Chase: "so you find me funny?" Jasmine simply turned around, unwilling to let him see her smile at the moment.
Suddenly Chase felt a tugging and sighed.
"I'm waking up. Don't worry, I'll be back."
Chase couldn't help but notice that as he was waking up, she waved with the most smug grin plastered across her face.
Opening his eyes, he found that he had been relocated. Upon reopening his eyes, he saw himself in a bed, with a physician attending to everyone around him.
Noticing him waking up, the healer turned around. "I thought you're wounds too damaged to heal, however even the largest ones begin stitching themselves together. I'm impressed, surely you must be blessed by the goddess Arelia."
"Maybe, a lot of crazy things happened last night, hopefully this is one of the good ones."
Trying to get up, Chase felt an arm on his chest. What followed was a beautiful woman.
Chase set his eyes upon jasmine, not in any spiritual sense, she was here with that same smug grin. "Hi jerk."
——
Wide eyed, Chase stared at her with genuine shock. "You're…."
Jasmine: "yes, I know I'm even more beautiful in the flesh, feel free to keep looking if you like." As she sat up, she got into a pose.
Taking advantage of the small silence, the physican spoke. "She simply appeared in your bed a few hours ago. One of my associates tried to remove her and she threatened to remove his head from his neck."
"Can you not go over every detail? Maybe go check on someone who needs help?" Jasmine gave the man an angry glare, but felt a hand covering hers.
Chase: "It's alright, I've missed you too."
Being embarrassed, Jasmine simply decided to hang her head down. "I apologize sir."
"Today is already surprising me. Excuse me sir, can you tell me where miss shiva is?" Chase tried to get up, only for the most searing pain to overtake his entire body.
"Graaah!"
