Chapter 41 - It Began With A Shock To The World 2

The time was getting closer to midnight. Outside, the busy city of New York was finally becoming quiet.

From his hotel room on the 17th floor, Louis looked at the floating system screen in front of him. There were only a few minutes left before a new day started.

"Now is the perfect time…" he whispered.

"If something unexpected happens, I can just wait a few minutes. The Teleport skill will refresh after midnight."

Yes… just like before, Louis decided to depend on his teleport ability.

Even though the skill had a daily limit, it was still like a cheat for someone like him—someone who had seen many secret locations from tower worlds through his phone and TV in his previous life.

Two days ago, he had already used teleport to jump to the United States without any travel documents or airports. He ignored everything else and focused only on the plan he made before entering this world.

He looked at the blue message flashing in front of him:

[Teleport uses left: 3]

"Good thing I didn't need to use teleport today," he said softly.

"If everything goes wrong, the uses will refresh in a few minutes anyway."

"If I fail… I'll run immediately. But if I succeed…"

A small smile appeared on his face.

"…I will get one of the strongest weapons in this world, before it even appears in the story."

With a thought, Louis activated teleport.

He only needed to see the place once. The short scene from the manhwa was enough to meet the skill requirement.

The world around him twisted. The air seemed to shrink and then expand again gently. Suddenly, he was standing inside a wide, closed room with dim lights.

He recognized it immediately—

the secret room inside the Scavenger Guild building.

No voices.

No guards.

Just a metal room…

and in the center, a glass display case.

Inside it—

the black and red daggers of the most dangerous dragon in history.

"Kamish…"

He slowly walked closer. There were no cameras inside. All the security was outside, because no one would ever imagine a thief suddenly appearing from thin air.

He reached out and stored the daggers directly into his system inventory.

A long list of notifications popped up, and he quickly closed them.

He didn't have time for them now.

"I can't believe it was this easy," he whispered.

But the nervous feeling inside him didn't disappear.

Everything he was doing was a crazy gamble.

And it wasn't over yet…

He used teleport again.

The room vanished—

and suddenly he found himself inside a huge dark hall with moving lights.

His breathing became fast, as if he had survived a deadly fight.

At the same time, a system message appeared:

[Teleport refreshed!]

[Teleport uses today: 3]

Louis smiled when he noticed the time: midnight exactly.

He looked around.

He had only seen the inside of the American Hunter Association from the manhwa, but he remembered very clearly the giant exhibition room that stored Kamish's skeleton behind magical and technological security layers.

The silence inside was frightening…

but one thing was very clear—

Kamish's massive skeleton lying inside a huge display container.

Much bigger than the box that held the daggers.

The bones were the size of a small park.

For a few seconds, Louis just stared.

Even without admiration, the scene was terrifying.

This was the strongest creature humans ever fought.

Louis could almost feel a heavy pressure coming from the bones… like the dragon was still trying to spread fear.

He walked slowly until he stood under the giant skull.

The skill stone from Kamish's body was right in front of him.

Yes!

This was Louis's next target.

When he reached out to store the stone—

a system message appeared, shocking him.

"…Amazing."

He never expected the system to treat the entire skeleton as a special item…

But suddenly—

alarms exploded everywhere

Alert detected

Unauthorized access

Louis froze for one moment—

then used teleport immediately.

He disappeared before the message even finished.

He reappeared in his hotel room again.

His chest moved up and down quickly.

For the first time in this world, he really felt danger.

It was a crazy action…

he could have died…

But the result?

Better than he ever imagined.

He opened his inventory and looked at the items:

Kamish daggers…

Kamish skeleton…

Kamish skill stone…

All in his possession—

and there was still one year left before Jin-Woo appears in the main story.

Louis slowly smiled…

"I think now…"

He looked up toward the dark window,

"…I've achieved the biggest success in this world."

Meanwhile…

The American Hunter Association entered a national emergency.

The whole United States turned into a giant search area for a thief whose face no one saw, and who didn't leave a single trace behind.

As for Louis…

he made history.

Alone… he managed to rob the strongest guild in the world, and the American Hunter Association.

Because of that, the whole world would focus on this case for a long time.

Louis smiled again…

then slowly sat in the chair near the window, watching the night lights of New York, while American news channels started preparing an emergency report.

And in the morning…

they would announce the biggest theft in Scavenger Guild's history.

A theft that made the name "The Unknown Thief" spread all over the world…

even before the real story began.

But Louis…

he had already taken what he came for.

For the first time since entering this Tower-like world…

he felt that he had taken a huge step toward earning the highest possible evaluation here.

A step…

that would change everything.
