Chapter 318 - Wind Release: Rasenshuriken

Chapter 318: Wind Release: Rasenshuriken

The Giant Ball Rasengan struck Scissor Runner's chest.

"Awoooo—!!"

Hit by the Giant Ball Rasengan, Scissor Runner let out a cry of pain.

"Bastard! Everyone, attack together!!"

The furious roar of the wounded dragon echoed across the ruined cityscape, shaking the very foundations of Crocus.

Several giant dragons took a deep breath together, their massive chests expanding as they gathered an apocalyptic amount of magical energy. The air around them warped and crackled with untamed power before they unleashed their devastating roars at Ren from all directions.

Ren remained completely unfazed. His nine golden tails rapidly extended, glowing with a brilliant, sun-like chakra, and his massive fox avatar spun quickly in a defensive vortex.

Bang bang bang bang!!

Ren effortlessly swatted away all the dragons' roars. The golden tails acted like impenetrable shields, violently deflecting the concentrated beams of draconic magic away from his position.

Boom boom boom boom boom boom—!!

Everywhere the deflected Dragon Breath passed, total annihilation followed. The landscape was instantly vaporized, and blinding, hemispherical domes of light erupted on the mountains surrounding the capital of Crocus.

The shockwaves from the deflected attacks shattered windows miles away and sent massive clouds of dust and debris billowing into the sky.

"Now, taste this move of mine!"

Ren held his right palm high, his eyes gleaming with a fierce, battle-hungry light.

Shh shh shh shh!!

Viscous, highly concentrated chakra rapidly gathered in his palm, swirling wildly until it formed a massive Rasengan. The sheer density of the sphere distorted the air around it.

He didn't stop there. Ren deliberately added the profound nature transformation of Wind Release into the spinning sphere of chakra.

Immediately, four massive, glowing shuriken-like blades of wind sprouted around the central sphere. The high-pitched, screeching sound of a thousand birds filled the battlefield, deafening everyone nearby.

This magnificent, terrifying technique was one of the greatest results of Ren's three months of intense cultivation: copying homework.

Specifically, he was copying the homework of the protagonist of his past life's anime, Uzumaki Naruto. The Fourth Hokage possessed talent far exceeding Naruto's, grasping complex jutsu concepts instantly.

And, much like Uzumaki Naruto, Ren also possessed the cheat-like, near-infinite power of the Nine-Tailed Fox.

By utilizing the Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu to divide the labor, Ren had quickly and flawlessly completed the extreme cultivation required to master this technique.

"Wind Release: Rasenshuriken!!"

With a loud shout that cut through the roaring winds, Ren hurled the Wind Release: Rasenshuriken toward the cluster of giant dragons.

The spinning disk of wind and chakra tore through the air at blinding speeds, leaving a trail of distorted space in its wake.

The expressions of the six dragons shifted drastically at the sight of the approaching attack. Their primal instincts screamed of immense danger, prompting them to instantly open their maws and breathe out torrents of Dragon Breath in a desperate defense.

Bang—!

As the Wind Release: Rasenshuriken met the combined Dragon Breath, its powerful, hyper-dense cutting ability defied all logic. It sliced through the torrential streams of dragon magic continuously, parting the beams like a hot knife through butter.

"What—?!"

The dragons were utterly shocked to see this. Their proud, ancient Dragon Clan magic was actually being effortlessly sliced apart by this mere human's strange power.

Boom—!!

The Wind Release: Rasenshuriken reached the center of the dragon formation and exploded violently.

Countless microscopic Chakra blades expanded outward in a rapidly growing dome of devastation.

A blinding, pure white light erupted, illuminating the night sky as if a second sun had just been born. Everywhere the tiny Chakra blades passed, everything—stone, steel, and earth—was sliced into minute fragments, reduced to nothing more than fine dust.

"Woooah!!"

"Aaaah!!"...

Everyone watching from the Grand Magic Games arena instinctively shielded their eyes with their arms. They braced themselves with all their might, anchoring their feet into the ground to avoid being blown away by the catastrophic tempest of wind and chakra.

After a long while, the blinding light faded, and the violent windstorm finally subsided.

"Such... such terrifying power!!"

Everyone slowly lowered their arms and looked toward the site of the explosion. What they saw left them completely speechless.

A colossal crater had been carved into the earth. The edges of the massive pit were perfectly smooth, polished by the microscopic wind blades, looking exactly as if a giant, invisible spoon had scooped out a massive chunk of the world.

In the very center of this smooth crater, the six giant dragons lay prone, their massive bodies covered in countless lacerations and smoking wounds.

"Did... did he get them?"

Seeing this incredible outcome, the watching Mages couldn't help but swallow nervously, their hearts pounding against their ribs.

Rumble—!

Suddenly, the ground trembled. The six dragons shook their massive bodies, groaning as they slowly but surely stood back up on their clawed feet.

"Even that didn't take them down?!"

Seeing this, the crowd felt a suffocating surge of despair. The physical durability and defensive strength of the giant dragons were simply too immense, defying all human comprehension.

Thud!

Just as a three-pronged Kunai landed silently on the edge of the battlefield, Ren's figure appeared beside it in a brilliant flash of yellow light.

"As expected of the Dragon Clan. After taking a Wind Release: Rasenshuriken head-on, you're not only alive but only lightly injured. Truly impressive!"

Ren remarked casually, a relaxed smile on his face as he looked at the six towering beasts before him.

The six dragons weren't happy at all to hear Ren's praise. In fact, their reptilian eyes burned with a mixture of profound humiliation and uncontrollable rage.

Six legendary giant dragons, facing a mere human like Ren, were actually forced into a disadvantage and wounded. What a sick, twisted joke!

When had the proud Dragon Clan ever suffered such deep humiliation at the hands of a mortal?

"This guy... just who is he?! How is this possible?!"

Standing atop a distant vantage point, Future Rogue's expression was incredibly grim, his face pale and twisted into an unsightly scowl.

He couldn't believe what he was witnessing. How could a mere human stand his ground against giant dragons?

And it wasn't even a one-on-one battle! It was one man fighting against six dragons, and Ren was completely suppressing them all.

This monstrous person didn't exist in his world at all. Where on earth did this anomaly come from?

"No, I can't let this guy keep getting stronger, or he'll completely threaten my rule. I must take this chance to completely erase him from existence."

Future Rogue clenched his fists, his shadows writhing violently around him. If he didn't kill this man here and now, he would have to be on constant guard against him, even if he successfully controlled more dragons in the future.

Before traveling through time, he had lived every single day of his miserable life in absolute terror, constantly hiding and fearing being found by the Black Dragon, Acnologia.

He had sacrificed everything to finally manage to travel to the past and take control of so many powerful dragons. He was meant to be the King of the new era.

He was absolutely unwilling to go back to living like a frightened rat.

Anyone, no matter who they were, who could threaten his safety and his perfect timeline had to be eliminated without mercy.

"Atlas Flame!! What are you doing, you fool?! You haven't even dealt with a mere Natsu?" Future Rogue screamed, his voice amplified by his shadow magic to reach the Hellfire Dragon.

"Ignore him and come here immediately! Join the other dragons and destroy that man!!" Future Rogue issued the absolute command.

"The rest of you, stop dragging this out! Everyone, use your roar! Make this wretched country and all the Mages disappear together!!"

The dragons immediately received Future Rogue's frantic message. Their pride demanded they kill Ren, and their master's command gave them the perfect excuse to stop holding back.

Several dragons flapped their colossal wings, kicking up massive gales of wind, and quickly took to the sky together.

"They're flying up!!"

"Are these dragons trying to escape?!"

"No... that's not it! This situation is..."

The members of the Tenrou Group watched the sky, their faces draining of color as a deeply ingrained trauma resurfaced in their minds. They found this coordinated movement horribly familiar.

Sure enough, seven giant dragons ascended together, forming a massive, ominous circle high in the air above the city.

Then, they all took a deep, terrifying breath, their massive chests swelling high as the atmospheric pressure around Crocus plummeted. The magic power gathering in the sky was so dense it became suffocating.

"It's a roar—!!"

Everyone's faces paled, their eyes wide with absolute terror. They had already seen the destructive power of a single dragon's roar; just one was enough to level the entire Royal Capital.

If seven giant dragons unleashed their roars together, converging on a single point, how terrifying would that apocalyptic power be?

Even though the civilians and wounded Mages had all fled to the sturdy confines of the Grand Magic Games Arena, they knew instinctively that they might not be able to escape the ensuing shockwave. The entire continent might feel the tremor of this attack.

"Defense—!!"

Makarov shouted loudly, his booming voice snapping the Fairy Tail members out of their stupor. He knew it was far too late to evacuate anyone now.

Swish—!

A massive, glowing Defensive Barrier suddenly appeared in the air above the arena, constructed of intricate, glowing purple runes.

It was Freed. Freed had prepared the layered defense early on, having already inscribed highly complex Jutsu Shiki Magic Circles all around their perimeter just in case the battle escalated.

"Everyone else, transfer your magic power to Freed!! Don't hold anything back!" Makarov commanded urgently.

"Oooooh!!"

Everyone immediately began transferring their magical power to Freed without a second thought. Erza, Gray, Lucy, and the others poured their exhausted reserves into the runes. The stronger the magic power supplied, the stronger and more resilient the Defensive Barrier would be.

"Master, what about Ren..."

Mira asked, her usually gentle face etched with deep anxiety as she looked up at the sky. She was incredibly worried about Ren's safety, knowing he was standing directly at ground zero of the impending bombardment.

"Don't worry, Ren will definitely be fine. That kid doesn't do things he's not entirely confident about."

Makarov reassured her, his tone firm and unwavering. He knew that in this heightened state, Ren could teleport away in an instant.

As long as there was a Flying Thunder God Technique mark somewhere safe—and since this wasn't an isolated place like Tenrou Island—he could easily teleport elsewhere to avoid the lethal danger whenever necessary.

Seeing this, Ren's expression turned slightly serious.

Immersed in the Nine-Tailed Fox's consciousness, the Nine-Tailed Fox's mouth opened as Ren extended both hands forward.

Yin and Yang Chakra converged.

Soon, a massive Bijūdama formed in front of Ren.

"That's...! Is Ren going to clash head-on with those dragons?!!"
