Chapter 3 - page 3

In the middle of the scorching sun, 2 friends were walking in the middle of a vast desert.

With thick clothes, they both continued to walk using sticks, and drank some water from the supplies in their backpacks.

"Hot." My friend said.

"Could this hot weather be the main cause of the destruction of the universe?"

"I don't know. I don't know either, maybe the destruction of the universe could be caused by this heat, or by something else. What is certain is, we are yet to make sure, whether the destruction has begun or not." - I answered.

I almost lost consciousness, and hallucinated, where I saw a pool in the middle of the desert "look, there is a pool of water, we can take a bath and refill our water supply there." I said.

"My friend. Look really, there is nothing there except grains of sand.

You are hallucinating because of this hot weather" - my friend replied.

I fell to my knees after realizing that, I thought there was a pool of water in front of me, it turned out to be just a hallucination.

Because I was too tired and hot, I collapsed on the way, and my friend hugged me using his shoulder.

"Forgive me my friend" - I whispered slowly.

"It's okay. It's a friend's duty to help his friend when he's in trouble" - my friend said while smiling.

The sound of my friend's heaving breath could be heard from my ears.

I also let go of his hand from his shoulder, and hugged him too.

He was surprised and asked "why? Don't you still have the energy to walk?" - my friend asked anxiously.

"Calm down my friend, as you said earlier: 'a friend will help his friend when he's in trouble'. So I followed your advice, and helped you when you're in trouble. Am I wrong?" - I said.

As I was hugging my friend, my breathing was heavy.

"My friend, are you tired? If so, let's change." My friend said.

"No, that's just your feeling maybe." - I tried to avoid admitting it.

But the sound of my stifled breathing confirmed my tiredness.

"That sound of your stifled breathing shows that you are tired, come on, let me hug you" - said my friend slowly.

"Yes" I admitted it "but look, there is a shady place in front of you" I pointed towards the shady bottom of the rock "we can rest there, so let me hug you until you get there."

"Okay" - replied my friend.

We went under the rock, and rested there.
