Chapter 68 - Chapter 68: Green Goblin: Norman, You’re a Bit Extreme!

Du Mu was indeed not lying.

If a sorcerer were present and observed closely, they would notice a special layer of energy adhering to the surface of every bullet.

This was a skill Du Mu had learned from the Sorcerer Supreme: a fundamental application of magic.

Simply put, it was the equivalent of an in-game enchantment, utilizing energy to vastly enhance the bullet's lethality.

The Green Goblin, however, didn't see it that way.

If any two ordinary guns could be called "magic," wouldn't New York be filled with sorcerers!?

Despite his skepticism, the Green Goblin had personally experienced the powerful force of these bullets.

Had his body, strengthened by the Super-Soldier Serum, not been tough enough, and the exoskeleton armor not negated most of the impact, these bullets would have severely injured him long ago!

The Green Goblin fought through the intense pain, his gaze fixed on Du Mu: "Who exactly are you!?"

Du Mu chuckled. "Mr. Osborn, it seems you no longer need the Life Potion. What a pity. I just developed a new flavor of Life Potion and was hoping you'd give it a try."

"Life Potion?"

The Green Goblin's pupils contracted with shock and suspicion. "Are you…?"

Seeing that the other party had already guessed the answer, Du Mu no longer concealed it. He nodded and said, "That's right. I am actually the embodiment of your good personality!"

Green Goblin: "..."

Good personality, my foot!

As the evil persona born within Norman Osborn, how was he supposed to know about a "good personality"?

The Green Goblin naturally didn't believe this nonsense. He gritted his teeth and spat, "It was you! Dr. Doom!"

He should have realized it sooner!

Du Mu's mysterious disappearance from Oscorp was immediately followed by the corporate theft. It was hard for him not to connect the two events.

Surely, it couldn't have been stane transforming into a phantom and scavenging inside Oscorp, could it?

"You shameless thief! You liar! I'm going to kill you!"

At this moment, the main personality, Norman, suddenly wrested back control of the body, glaring at Du Mu with eyes blazing with fury.

He had initially hoped to rely on Du Mu's Life Potion to prolong his life, only for the fellow to suddenly pack up and flee!

Feeling that his days were numbered, he was forced to take the risk of injecting the un-tested, replicated Super-Soldier Serum.

With his hope shattered and his research stolen, Norman was now filled with towering resentment towards Du Mu!

This intense hatred even allowed him to temporarily break through the suppression of the evil Green Goblin persona!

But the Green Goblin persona quickly regained the upper hand.

He wasn't the main personality, and he couldn't care less about Du Mu running away. Besides, if Du Mu hadn't fled, forcing Norman into a corner to inject the replicated Super-Soldier Serum, his evil persona wouldn't have been born in the first place.

In a way, the Green Goblin actually had Du Mu to thank.

"Don't mind what I just said."

The Green Goblin narrowed his eyes and spoke in a calm, friendly tone. "Dr. Doom, we could actually join forces. With our minds and power, we could create a new future, one that places us above everyone else. Why should we fight to the death here?"

The Green Goblin had made a similar offer to Spider-Man, but was unfortunately rejected.

Now, he extended the same olive branch to Du Mu.

The Norman persona popped up again, roaring in a fit of exasperation: "Don't join forces! Kill him for me! You coward!"

Green Goblin: "..."

Norman, you're a bit extreme.

Du Mu nodded. "What you said actually makes sense."

The Green Goblin's heart surged with delight. "Right? As long as the two of us work together, and we eliminate Spider-Man, we can rule—"

"But I refuse!"

"..."

The Green Goblin's face instantly became sullen, his tone icy. "So, there's no discussion?"

Du Mu was amused. "You're the evil personality, and I'm the good personality. We inherently have nothing to talk about."

You're really getting into this role-playing, aren't you?!

Seeing that cooperation was hopeless, the Green Goblin stopped wasting words and charged fiercely toward Du Mu on his glider!

Du Mu decisively raised his guns and fired.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three energy bullets arrived instantly, piercing through the exoskeleton armor and leaving several bloody holes in the Green Goblin's body.

But the Green Goblin ignored the wounds. He shielded his head with his arms, the glider engine roaring with full acceleration. The turbocharger burst with massive thrust, propelling him towards Du Mu at an incredible speed!

Screeeech!

A sharp blade sprang from the Green Goblin's arm gauntlet. With a fierce whoosh through the air, it ruthlessly sliced toward Du Mu's head!

In his mind, a skinny scientist like Du Mu must be terrible at close combat.

If he succeeded in getting close, Du Mu would surely be no match for him!

Just as the Green Goblin was thinking this, an elbow suddenly rapidly grew larger in his vision!

"Muay Thai warning!"

Thwack!

Completely unprepared, the Green Goblin was violently smashed in the face by the powerful, heavy elbow strike!

Under the immense force, his entire body was sent flying off the glider like a bird with broken wings, plummeting straight down!

CRASH!!

Accompanied by a massive sound, the Green Goblin fell from dozens of meters up, slamming heavily onto the deck of the Queensboro Bridge!

"Agh! My back!"

The Green Goblin cried out in pain, clutching his back agonizingly.

Even with the Green Goblin's powerful physique, that fall was enough to completely wreck him.

The Green Goblin struggled to get up, only to see the black muzzle of a gun pressed against his forehead.

"You lose, Green Goblin."

Du Mu stood before the Green Goblin, holding the Golden Desert Eagle.

At this range, no matter how hard the Green Goblin's skull was, the bullet would instantly pierce it.

After all, he wasn't the Steel Leg from before.

The Green Goblin was unwilling to surrender so easily. His tone became sinister. "You think you've won like this?"

As he spoke, the glider hovered in the air, its two gun barrels slowly rotating and aiming at the panicked crowd on the Queensboro Bridge.

This scene was almost identical to the one Peter had just encountered!

The Green Goblin grinned, his voice a mocking cackle. "Now, I give you two choices: either let me go, or let these innocent people..."

"Achoo!"

Du Mu suddenly sneezed. The gun barrel jerked, and the bullet grazed the Green Goblin's head, taking a piece of flesh with it.

"My apologies, my hand slipped. What were you saying just now?"

Green Goblin: "..."

Clearly, Du Mu was not Spider-Man.

He wasn't picking either of the Green Goblin's choices!

The Green Goblin was momentarily frozen in embarrassment, unsure whether he should continue.

If he continued, he was afraid Du Mu's little hand would slip again and drill a hole in his head.

Du Mu genuinely wasn't afraid to pull the trigger!

Du Mu stopped the pointless banter, immediately raised the gun stock, and smashed it hard onto the Green Goblin's head!

But the Green Goblin's head was too hard. It didn't knock him out in one hit, so Du Mu raised the gun stock and smashed it again.

After hitting him like this for over a dozen times, the Green Goblin finally passed out.

It wasn't that he was smashed unconscious. Du Mu had suddenly remembered that the exoskeleton armor could also spray a potent sleeping gas, powerful enough to knock out an adult elephant for days. It was perfect for dealing with a super-powered mutant like the Green Goblin.

Ahem, he really had just forgotten about it.

Du Mu tossed the unconscious Green Goblin onto the glider, then controlled the machine as it roared and sliced through the night sky, flying into the distance.

On the bridge deck below, the crowd who had witnessed the entire event erupted in thunderous applause and cheers.

"Nice job!"

"Is that a new superhero? What's his name?"

"I don't know. Since he looks so much like the Green Goblin, let's call him the Green Demon!"

Everyone looked up, their eyes following the figures of Du Mu and the glider as they flew away, discussing animatedly.

Peter, still hanging in mid-air: "..."

Is no one going to say anything for me?
