Seeing her seriousness, he suppressed his anger, and spoke.
"Vivian, you're still young, some things you can't see clearly. Uncle understands."
He turned around, his tone softened a bit, trying to persuade her.
"It's normal to feel aggrieved now. But a family can't be broken up that easily."
"You want independence, and Uncle supports that. But there's no need to make things too tense."
"Think it over, don't act impulsively and do something you'll regret."
After speaking, he turned around and left.
He knew that some things couldn't be forced.
But he was more aware that once he left, he might be gone for good.
Vivian watched his back, her chest felt weighed down like with a stone.
She did not chase after him, nor did she speak again.
She was the only one left in the room.
The wind outside lightly lifted the curtains.
She stood there, not moving for a long time.
