"They seemed quite close," Danica added.
For a fleeting second, Gideon wanted to react, to snatch the phone away, to storm out and confront Summer. But his conscience reeled him back. If he acted impulsively now, he would only push her farther away.
As for Landon, he had already issued a warning. If that man continued to cross lines, he wouldn't hesitate to crush him completely.
"Yes, they are," Gideon said flatly, masking his anger. "They've been friends since childhood. I'm not paying much attention to it."
He tried to sound indifferent, but the taut muscles in his neck betrayed him.
Danica stiffened, surprise flashing across her face. This was not the reaction she had anticipated. She had expected him to blow up in fury and take action against Summer, just like before.
But Gideon remained composed as though the photograph hadn't shaken him at all.
'How is he this calm?' she wondered in confusion. 'Does he no longer care about Summer? Or is this the calm before the storm?'
