Chapter 123 - Chapter 123: Mission Completed

Otto's thoughts were filled with admiration as he looked at Shota. The young operative had planned everything so carefully. He had used the disguise, waited for the right moment, and then struck without giving anyone a chance to react.

The way he erased their chakra and finished them with binding cloth was smooth and deadly. Otto had trained with Raven many times, but seeing him in a real mission like this was different.

The kid moved and thought like someone with years more experience than his actual age. Explosions were going off everywhere, the building was falling apart, and yet Shota remained completely calm and in control.

Otto continued to feel a strong sense of awe. He remembered all the stories about the Eraserhead of Suna and how he had helped bring down the Third Raikage. Now he was seeing that reputation in action. The perfect mission record made sense after watching this.

Shota did not waste movements or take unnecessary risks. He used his kekkei genkai at the exact right time to remove the enemies' greatest advantage, their chakra.

Then he ended the fight before it could even begin. Otto felt proud to be part of the team, even if he was much older and more experienced in years. Working under someone like Raven showed him what true talent and sharp decision-making looked like in the field.

The explosions kept sounding in the background. More screams and running footsteps could be heard from the main hall. Guests were trying to escape while Root shinobi and mercenaries shouted orders. The auction house that had looked so grand and secure just minutes ago was now turning into ruins. Smoke rose through the broken ceiling, and the beautiful lights that once lit the hall were now shattered on the floor.

Shota turned to his team and gave quick hand signals. They knew it was time to move to the next part of the plan.

The chaos created by the explosions gave them the perfect cover. No one would be able to stop them from leaving.

Otto picked up the storage scrolls with their won items and secured them safely.

The plan worked just as Shota had thought. His plan was working perfectly. The explosions had created enough panic for everyone to start acting in their own interest.

Shota thought carefully while moving with his team. 'We would not be the only ones to use the chaos to our advantage. Why would the small villages now fear Danzo or Root when Konoha no longer supports him and is actively hunting him down. And the great villages, they would love to take the items without payment from their former enemy.'

This chaos gave them the perfect excuse to take what they wanted by force.

"Let's go before the Root calms down the chaos and they realise we were responsible for this," Shota said to his team.

The explosions had been planted near important officials of the auction house. Shota's remaining shadow clone was still active and would make sure that all the other key people who survived the first blasts would also die. By targeting the leaders and staff, the entire operation would fall apart quickly.

'With most of the employees dying, it would mean no one would want to work with the auction house anymore. They would find it difficult to hire new employees.' Shota thought, and to prove his point, he looked toward the main stage.

On the stage, the beautiful auction hostess lay with burns all over her body. Heavy burning rubble had fallen on her and crushed her. She was no longer moving. Shota's clone had planted explosive tags right on top of the roof above the stage. The once confident and seductive woman who had entertained the crowd was now gone.

'A pity such a beautiful woman had to die,' Shota thought with a touch of sadness.

He felt a small wave of regret as he looked at her. She had been lively and attractive, using her charm to make the auction exciting. It was unfortunate that she had to lose her life in this mission. But then Shota slapped himself hard on the face to snap out of it.

'Forget about her or any other woman, Shota. You are the proud member of the Pakura fan club. There is no other woman that would take the place of my ultimate crush...She is scorching hot. Pun intended.'

Shota shook his head firmly and reminded himself of his true loyalty. Pakura was his ultimate crush, the strong and beautiful kunoichi from Sunagakure.

No matter how pretty other women looked, none of them could ever replace her in his heart. He had joined the secret Pakura fan club in the village and wore the hidden badge with pride. Thinking about other women felt like betraying that deep admiration he held for Pakura.

He continued his internal lecture while running. 'Come on, Shota, stay strong. If Lady Pakura knew I was distracted by some auction lady, she would probably burn me herself. No, my heart belongs to the Scorch Release queen. I must stay loyal to the fan club.'

He turned his attention to the running nobles and merchants who were scrambling to escape with whatever they could carry. 'And with this attack no nobles and merchants would attend it, fearing for their lives. That would limit the auction attendees to just the large and small villages. Smaller villages would also stop attending if they feel like they would be offending both Konoha and Suna if they attended. That means only great villages would attend. Let's see how Danzo earns profits without enough people to bid. With this, the mission is successful.'

Shota and his Anbu team started running out of the auction house, moving fast through the collapsing corridors. As they exited the building, they noticed that the Iwa shinobi were chasing after them led by Kitsuchi, the son of the Tsuchikage.
